@vfrdirk Now that Whataburger has recovered from their temporary insanity and resumed serving real Whataburger Onion Rings, there is no other true side.
@PocketBrain@vfrdirk As long as one isn’t at Burger King, anyway. Theirs are just plain awful, they leave that nasty chalk-slime feeling on your tongue. Ick.
@hchavers Interesting, I’m right handed but tend to prefer the left side of the burger too, since my hand is holding the right side. I suppose I could try chewing through my right hand, but I’d prefer it to be well done first.
Crispy Brussels sprouts if they are truly crispy. Best crispy sprouts I have ever had was at a restaurant called Fork in Boise, Idaho. I hope to make it back some day, assuming the restaurant is still there.
@mycya4me A small baker with just loads of butter and bacon bits is a truly excellent side. With sauteed diced onion and minced garlic added, it’s even better. And now I need to make a grocery run.
@phendrick That a bev, not a side. Unless it’s deep-fried beer, which is a side by virtue of prep. (It’s a thing in a few places in Scotland, where some of the chip shops make a point of finding a way to deep-fry everything.) (I miss proper chip shops. I miss the ones in New Zealand even more. OMG the food down there is worlds better than ours.)
@werehatrack But i do try to keep one by my side while enjoying a burger (or most any sandwich), so to me qualifies by definition. But it does get moved some while being imbibed.
Not familiar with fried beer; does it still have the alcohol content?
I keep reading this poll as “if you were a hamburger …”
(I’m trying to figure out what burger would go well with coleslaw. I’ve been making chayote fries recently; since they’re stiffer cucumbers, really all you need is some grilling and seasoning.)
@pakopako I made jicama hash browns a few times by dusting them with cornstarch before tossing them in the frying pan. A mouli does an excellent job of turning them into suitable shreds.
French fries most of the time.
Waffle fries or curly fries
@heartny yep, most of the time, then the other time nice Hot Baked Potato with a lot of butter!
Onion rings on line 2, sir…
@vfrdirk Now that Whataburger has recovered from their temporary insanity and resumed serving real Whataburger Onion Rings, there is no other true side.
@vfrdirk another vote for rings!
@PocketBrain @vfrdirk As long as one isn’t at Burger King, anyway. Theirs are just plain awful, they leave that nasty chalk-slime feeling on your tongue. Ick.
@PocketBrain @vfrdirk @werehatrack BK used to be better.
Also, have you tried a fried blooming onion?
@pakopako Blooming Onion was introduced back around '88 if memory serves. Yes, tried it, long ago. They’re OK.
Left. Being left handed has a lot a sway on my preferences.

KuoH
@hchavers @kuoh I tend to favor the side that’s facing me.
@hchavers @werehatrack Open wide!
KuoH
@hchavers @kuoh Are those onion bits in the bun? Cool!
Cheese curds from Culvers

'Tater salad…
Is that just a salad?
I think not.
@2many2no Of the three main varieties of my experience, I usually prefer the non-mustard ones.

Fries, Fries, Onion Rings
/showme a dancing Bake potato

@mycya4me @werehatrack and cheese
you forgot cheese
Does anyone else remember those baked potato places that were in malls way back when? It was my favorite place to go when there.
@Cerridwyn @werehatrack Yep, But I like a plain Potato, Then add some butter & a pinch of salt
@Cerridwyn @mycya4me No cheese for me, but add lots of garlic butter and bacon bits
@Cerridwyn @werehatrack I agree with NO Cheese, I dislike Melted Cheese! Yes I could stand to try the Garlic Butter & the bacon bits!
@mycya4me @werehatrack more cheese for me then
Onion rings and coleslaw.
Fries. Bonus if they’re curly and spiced. Onion rings are a nice bonus.
Another burger
@chienfou Yep!
@chienfou @mycya4me Came here to say this!
(Followed by O-rings)
@chienfou @mehcuda67 @mycya4me nah, too much breading; just fit the extra burger in your original burger
@chienfou @mycya4me @pakopako Hmmm…
Why is “A cold beer” not on the list of choices?
@phendrick That a bev, not a side. Unless it’s deep-fried beer, which is a side by virtue of prep. Not familiar with fried beer; does it still have the alcohol content?
@phendrick Yes, but it’s flat and full of bread. But given what beer and bread have in common, that’s apparently considered okay.
@werehatrack
/showme Give me bread and give me beer until i wear 4XL
@mediocrebot looks good, but where’s the butter and jam?
The training of our server bots must be slipping.
@mediocrebot @phendrick and the beer is too pale
