I have a nearly identical backpack to the laptop backpack (possibly the same bag with a different brand slapped on it) that I purchased when I needed the smallest bag possible to meet the very strict carryon requirements of a Caribbean plane service. It was good enough for what I needed but had barely enough room to add my power brick and a few other essentials — 4" deep is not a lot of space when a laptop is already eating up part of it.
The top handle is metal, which is weird, and mine gets twisted off-center regularly and needs pushing back into position. There’s basically no padding at the bottom of mine, so I tossed in some bubble wrap to better cushion my Macbook (especially when it was rattling around in the wing of the plane). I got lots of compliments on the bag’s style, and it doesn’t scream LAPTOP BACKPACK STEAL ME.
I am a sucker for backpacks, and that laptop bag looks pretty slick. I have one question and one concern, though.
Question: Is the bottom of the laptop compartment padded? In lots of “laptop” bags, the sides are padded but the bottom isn’t, and since I occasionally ride an electric skateboard to work (you know, back when I used to actually go to the office), I’ve fallen a few times and had the bottom of the backpack hit the ground. The laptop inside ended up with a cracked corner because the bottom of the bag had no padding at all.
Concern: At least two of the Amazon reviews of the laptop bag mention the shoulder straps breaking. That seems to be a weak point. It’s possible that those two reviewers just got defective units, but maybe it’s just a bad design.
@The_Tim Good reason to keep a change of clothes in the bottom of the backpack, with the laptop nestled within. I do that, and not even on a skateboard.
In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them…maybe you can hire The A-Team.

You know what a backpack would be great for? The “bag” part of a Fukubukuro.
Just sayin’

I’m going to have to think on this one for a bit.
@The_Tim Good reason to keep a change of clothes in the bottom of the backpack, with the laptop nestled within. I do that, and not even on a skateboard.
@phendrick @The_Tim I use some folded bubble wrap squares at the bottom
Well, the laptop bag is sold out now anyway, so that makes my decision easy.
These backpacks all look like they have expressions.
@tartanknickers and unhappy ones, at that…
Fit and Fresh…I thought it was going to be a jumbo pack of chicken.
So I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger at Walmart with a cart full of toilet paper.
I said, “Where’d you find that?”
He said,
“Aisle B. Back”.
Another backpack?
Are you implying these are bugout bags for the coming laptop apocalypse?
@mehcuda67 yeah, the laptops are going to eat our brains, be very afraid!
Look what happens when the writers are quarantined and only IRK is left.
@hchavers writers can work from home, unlike warehouse ship/packers

I’m surprised the last picture didn’t show a backpack full of hand sanitizers, to go with the toilet paper.
how about liter capacity?
@fastharrydotcom
A liter is equal to 1.05669 US Quart.
/sorry Harry, I’ve been locked up.

Expandable bottom??? What are you saying???
@ybmuG I always wanted an expandable bottom
@robson @ybmuG I once had a girlfriend whom I thought had patented the expandable bottom. I was afraid the airlines would charge us extra.
How many toilet paper rolls would fit in each one?
Shoot, the laptop backpack is GONE… ugh.
i’ve been a fan of all the backpacks that fold onto themselves. great for travels and trips
Are they all gray?
Given that the bags are for sale on meh.com, they are probably neither very fit or fresh…
