You want the floof?
35You can’t handle the floof!
Meet Kiko McFluffybutt- the newest member of our fambly. She was a feral kitten living in our back yard. I trapped her and her brother once they were old enough to leave their mama, and found a home for the boy. Couldn’t let Kiko go, I fell in love with the little cutie. She’s been inside for a couple of weeks now, and is pretty much completely settled in.

She looks ready for mayhem. Congrats!
@f00l Thanks! She is a little spitfire. Our three adult cats are like “WTF?!”
Sweet baby! Those fuzzy ears are killing me with cute…
@HemlockTea Right?
Her expression is like WHAT?!
I have a feeling right after this pic was taken she attacked the photographer.
Do all your pets share the McFluffybutt surname?
@Garfield43 Nope, just her. Our other cats are all short haired.
you are very lucky. tortie cats are objectively the best cats in the entire world. she’s excellent. this is my tortie, koda.
@meh Oooh, so pretty.
I’ve always admired torties, but never had one before.
@Pony they’re said to have some unique personality traits called ‘tortitude’. who knows if its true, but she’s definitely the most unique personality wise of my animals. extremely smart, she knows her name and several words, very sensitive to tone and inflection. high strung and a lot of anxiety, extremely skittish with new people/visitors, very independent and un-needy, but very strongly bonded. she’s awesome.
You did good deeds rescuing two kittens, and I congratulate you. The only thing I can add is that if you don’t already have a Furminator, you will soon. When she grows into those ears, you’re going to be swimming in loose tortie floof.
@OldCatLady I had the short haired version already, and then a couple of months ago, Purina randomly sent me this surprise box of kitty stuff, which just happened to include a long haired furminator. It’s like they knew…
The Wobber loves the floof.
@lordbowen The floof is strong with that one!
More photos! My husband is allergic and I miss my kitties.
@sammydog01 I haven’t got many pics yet- she rarely holds still enough! But here’s a good one.

Want action vids for this one
@f00l Join the club. LOL I have a lot of friends pestering me for video. I’ll try to get something soon.
@f00l Dunno if I did this right… here’s Kiko playing with the cat toy I bought from Meh, and it was shot on the Canon Rebel T6 that I also bought from Meh.
Sorry about the awful noise in the background- that’s my oxygen concentrator. I am so used to it, I don’t even hear it anymore. Until I realize I shot a video with it running. Oops.
@Pony
That’s pretty good. But I’m guessing that’s kinda her slo-mo mode.
Can’t wait to see her go full out insane.
…
Until then, here’s a new one from Maru - Maru gets a swing:
@f00l Aw. I love Maru. My Henry would love the swing. He loves to ride on my walker, gangsta style. (Feel free to point and laugh at me)
@Pony
I think vids of Henry on the walker need cowpoke music.
@f00l Nope. His theme is Ridin’ Furry.
No more kittens for us. We’ve sworn off of them. We want to have a life at some point (too many elderly cats here with health problems and we don’t feel good about leaving them for days, even with a petsitter). I love kittens, though. Your new baby is adorable!
Last month our vet’s office called.
You want another cat?
No.
But listen to this kitty’s story. Rescued from street, emaciated, had all sorts of tests run, clinic ate 80% of the cost. New “owner” asked age of said kitty. Probably about thirteen. THIRTEEN!?! Oh, no, we thought it was a kitten, if we’d known she was that old, we’d have just had her put to sleep…
WTF??
Meet Bernadette. Tiny, deaf (which they never mentioned) and very, very loud. She is so loud, the other cats turn tail and run when she screams at them.
The day after we got her:

Last Saturday (four weeks later):

@lisaviolet Bless you for rescuing that little sweetie.
All my cats have always been rescues. I had one that was a skeleton with fur like Bernadette, and she turned out to be a stunning uber-floofy Himalayan. She had heart troubles though, so we only had her a short time before she passed on.
@lisaviolet All my cats are either used or from a litter I fostered. I had to tell the rescue sites to take my name off their ‘foster’ list, much as I hated to do it. Then the mail lady told me about the tuxie whose despicable owner just moved out, left her crying at the front door, and put her litter box and toys in the trash. On Christmas eve. Welcome, Holly.

@OldCatLady We never even tried to foster. At our most, we had 38 cats. Neighbors and coyotes pretty much decimated our feral population (the ones we weren’t able to catch and bring inside). Now that they’re getting older, they’re starting to age out. We lost three this year, one to heart problems (he also had thyroid disease), one to dry FIP and the other one to old age (most likely her kidneys gave out, she’d been getting subQ fluids twice a week for years, she was months away from 23, the other two were 15 and 16). We’re under a couple of dozen now. Our youngest is around 8, the oldest is 17 or 18.
I’m really glad you opened your home and heart to Holly. A fitting name for a beautiful kitty.
Dat floof tho.
Thursday was Kiko’s birthday- a whole year old already! I made her a little hat, and she was very good about holding still for me to get a couple of photos.
@Pony That’s AMAZING. I have a hard time even putting harnesses on mine. What a very lovely cat she’s grown into. Happy birthday to her!
@Pony what sweet photos. My cats are not the kind that let me put stuff on their heads.
@Pony

@Pony buahaha that face :3 i love her. happy birthday!
Such is cute little face! She got lucky landing in your house.
I love your kitty but please no floof. I vacuumed all morning and have an entire bag of the stuff.
