@awk That made me lol. I went to a health website once, and they were all obsessed with coffee enemas. And I swear one guy was trolling telling everyone how great he felt since he started drinking his own urine. I think he was just hoping he’d trick someone into trying it themselves.
i don’t seek out caffeine. i don’t intentionally avoid it either, but i don’t like coffee and i rarely drink soda. i do really like tea, iced or hot, but i don’t pay attention to the caffeine bit really. and if it’s really hot? (like today, under yet another heat advisory) i’m inclined to just drink water.
@jerk_nugget also, i live in new england - the land of ice coffee year round. so it’s less about hot coffee in summer and more about cold coffee in winter. never really understood what the big deal was though. i mean, you don’t see people heating up their orange juice or microwaving their soda or water just because it’s cold out.
At home, I normally make 1.5 liters (~51oz) of coffee with a french press using freshly ground beans. The first 8-11oz cup is had hot because outside temperature has little to do with indoor temperature and fresh coffee is most excellent regardless of outside temperature.
A second cup is frequently also had hot, but less so when it is really hot outside.
Regardless, it is rare that I drink more than about half of the 1.5 liters and the balance is allowed to cool to room temperature.
In the Winter, that left over coffee sits on the counter and is had the next day, heated in the microwave (really good coffee is still quite good the next day, provided it has not been burned).
In the Summer, that left over coffee is further cooled in the fridge and used to make iced coffee (frequently, it lasts only a day or so).
I also have three espresso machines (two different types) and other coffee brewing devices at home and use them on occasion, tho rarely in the Summer months.
At work, we use a drip coffee maker, also with freshly ground beans. We turn the coffee maker off as soon as the coffee has brewed, because burnt coffee is many times worse than reheated coffee.
I bought about $80’s worth of caffeine gum from you guys.
What, the eye? No, it’s fine, it always twitches like that.
I don’t consume caffeine
@kittykat9180 What do you do with it, then…?
@kittykat9180 @shahnm they glom it to their ‘nads like a kind of mud mask.
@kittykat9180 @UncleVinny Sounds stimulating…

I love sitting at my desk feeling the wind whipping though my hair.
@mike808 I think that might be lice.
Was soda for a long time, switched to Iced Tea years ago.
chop up some caffeinated mints and roll up a dollar bill.
@zerth Oh my god, you do that too!?
@ShotgunX @zerth Caffeine tablets work much better for that.
I don’t drink coffee, so if I need caffeine but it’s friggin’ HOT out I just lick the melted chocolate off my fingers.
@heartny Yup. My source of caffeine too.
@heartny @Kidsandliz pour it over ice…
@heartny that’s not melted chocolate.
@moonhat It’s chocolate. It passed the smell test.
Plot twist, I’m not OUT, I’m IN.
@awk not that there’s anything wrong with that

Hot coffee makes the heat feel cool, that’s why I like McDonald’s coffee on hot summer days.
Iced coffee at times or soda, but more often, water with caffeinated Mio.
Tried and true Monster energy drink
@JoetatoChip Do energy drinks count as soda for the purpose of this poll?
Mexican Coca-cola in a glass bottle- ice cold.
@dhelmick56 Yes, that is the actual real thing, no high fructose corn syrup!
I make cold brew with that super awesome Cold Brew Carafe and kit Meh sold last year.
HIKING! VIKINGS! STRIKE KING [BRAND FISHING LURES]! AWESOME!
It depends. If I get Starbucks, it’s a hot latte. If I’m making it at home, it’s iced coffee.
Vietnamese iced coffee! Or if I don’t have the condensed milk on hand, iced tea or energy soda
a super sugar-filled fattening frappucino or coffee granita or the like.
It’s never too hot for coffee, just like it’s never too cold for ice cream
Red Bull/energy drink… strangely absent from the voting choices?!
Iced cold brew first thing, then hot coffee when I get to my always-freezing office.
you should drink starbucks cascara nitro. so much caffeine they aren’t allowed to sell a venti. way too potent!
If you live in a dry climate or drink hot drinks indoors in an air conditioned room, hot drinks will work to cool you down because science:
