@callow i try not to care how anyone spells or pronounces things, as it’s usually some combo of classist/racist/ableist/pointless but “valentimes” is absolutely one that inside drives me straight up a wall.
@unksol the original comment said “people who say valentimes.” and when people pronounce something a certain way their whole lives, they often spell it the same way. (yes, i know, with all the cards and chocolates and whatnot that use the correct spelling maybe they should see the error in their ways but, here we are.) another example i could give is sherbet - i know it’s supposed to be spelled and pronounced “sherbet” but i say/spell it “sherbert.”
My guys getting the two annual b-day gifts that I totally forgot about this year, the biggest lobster I can find and a pair of homemade knitted slippers that my mom makes. Neither of us care to give in to the commercialization of any holiday, especially this one. For me that means no store bought heart shaped candy or any kind of card that isn’t hand made with a sentiment shared straight from the heart! After 30 years of celebrating our love we’re very good at expressing ourselves. And besides who doesn’t love the thought of being in and appreciating the love between two individuals! I just love love! What a sap…! ¯_(ツ)_/¯
