Just saw this! Im sure "collinvh" saw the thread, busted open photoshop, did his/her thing, exported shirt, submitted to shirtwoot and is currently waiting until the day is over to count how many shirts sold/bask in his/her easy money..... my new hero
@narfcake it is what it is. It's both pathetic and petty. I mean really do they need to do this? I think they should keep keep dealing with the megasites and stop looking over thier shoulder. Right now I think if meh sold a bag of dog shit, they would find a way to sell it themselves and/or make a t shirt up. Yes, I've been a wooter for 5 + years, but it dosen't mean I support them the way I used too. They are like walmart, you pretty much hate everything about them, but if they sell something for 1 dollar less, you buy it.
@somf69 I don't think you understand how the derby works. A user submitted the design and users voted for it. Woot barely had anything to do with it other than not making an exception to the normal process.
@narfcake I've been a wooter for 7+ years, but I have no use for cutesy T-shirts, so I had no idea how it worked. FWIW. Not really a part of the discussion, more hoping TPTB add a forum filter that lets us hide the inevitable thread every time Woot happens to use the word "meh."
Awful lot of anger in this short thread. Woot has offered Meh shirts of one sort or another for a long time and I'm sure they will continue to do so. Maybe things would be different if this was actually called cutelittlebunnyshirt.com, or justanothertardisshirt.com. Until mediocre launches those, stop worrying about it.
Shirt.woot Derby Primer (since a ton of you don't know) 1. Woot comes up with a theme. (This one was football) 2. Artists design shirts within that theme. (Mostly) 3. Voters choose the shirts they want to see print. (Everyone who has at least one purchase on their woot account can vote in the derby. ) 4. The top 9 shirts go to "the fog" where they stay until... 5. Woot sells the #1 voted shirt on Friday, #2 Saturday, and #3 Sunday.
The reason you've seen 2 meh shirts print over there in recent weeks are because people who are aware of both sites find it funny to make woot print a shirt with the name of a competitor on it.
I know that's not as fun as a woot conspiracy, but it's what happened.
This means WAR! Or at least ambivalence? Meh?
@prowags Careful, don't want to start an ambivalanche.
well, at least you don't have to buy a speaker dock to get that shirt
@pyip001 ... though I'm sure Woot has some to sell in one of the bazillion side sales.
@narfcake They were selling a jbl speaker dock in the wootoff this past week
Speaking of Woot competition, I bought 2 of the Vornado 610B Whole Room Air Circulators from Meh for $40 each. Woot has them today for $29.99. http://sellout.woot.com/offers/vornado-610b-whole-room-air-circulator-6
@cengland0 ouch. what do you expect from an online retailer named meh? I wonder if this is the start of a great price war between the two?
@jimmyd103 I would not expect anything "great" from such a mediocre company.
Not war, free publicity!
@readnj Woot has realized that they can make money off of meh customers. Now they might act rationally.
@hamjudo Um, yeah. The hundreds of us have finally joined the millions of them thanks to this t-shirt!

@Catdad: WTF? The design was entered in a derby, and Wooters had to vote for it to print. There's nothing automatic and there's nothing easy about it.
FYI: meh and woot were created by the same people. if you read product descriptions, you can tell. also it says so on their company's website. meh.
@snypin04 F whose I?
I thought this would be about how the woot originators weren't required to sign a non-compete agreement with Amazon.
@naropa: From D Magazine - his contract with Amazon included a three-year non-compete clause from the date of sale ...
it's just a total douche move by them
@somf69 douchey of the shirt artist or woot?
@medz Neither. @somf69, you've been a Wooter for 5+ years? Surely you should already know that it's Wooters who voted the shirt to print.

Cheese and Rice Its for women...they(sorry I know) dont like football so meh NFL
@meh123 It could be for dudes who have come to terms with being fans of crap teams. Or dudes who don't give a rat's ass about football. They exist.
@bluedyn or very thin men that enjoy wearing skinny jeans
@somf69 Baggy jeans just look even baggier for us skinny-types.
@meh123 I am a dude that does not give a rat's ass about football, but I am a computer geek.
So who is it started the barter in rat's asses, I wonder?
