Thanks PastaDrop! I actually commented to my wife today I needed new wireless headphones to mow the lawn, since my 2 year old made my other buds disappear!
Got anything else to sweeten the pot?
Sure, since we just launched we’ll throw in $50 total store credit for our other sites. After you PastaDrop you’ll get an email with $10 off each of our five other sites. You can use these codes once on each site to…save $10.
Oh, and the PastaDrop recipient will also get a code they can use to PastaDrop someone else. Pasta it forward, if you will. (Or even if you won’t.)
As Granny on Word Girl would say, “That’s a bargain!”
@ecanada@stinks if you saw their previous prices on sidedeal pasta I HIGHLY doubt it will be 20lbs. $1 a pound is every day supermarket price. They were… $32 for 20lbs in bulk bags and sold out. On sale at super markets is .50 a pound.
I rolled the dice just for the fun of a meh experiment and the coupons might help offset if it’s disappointing and something shows up to use it on.
@remo28 if you are drowning out the sound of a mower with cheap earphones you are ruining your hearing. Earbuds under over the ear hearing protection would work better for you.
@zachhh it’s not loud enough to drown out the mower. But loud enough to hear the music. I really hate earbuds, because I find them all uncomfortable after anything more than 30 minutes.
Weird, they have the exact same button layout as my ones, but on mine that sliding switch is for noise-canceling on/off. I assume all the many brands with this exact shell are just rebrands from the same factory, in which case I recommend them. And the noise canceling is mostly unnecessary, I pretty much only use it on a plane. (And this price is cheaper than what I paid for mine, except that Amazon sent me a second pair by mistake two months later so per pair mine were very cheap!)
@hchavers@InFrom yeah, someone in marketing not thinking it through.
Years ago, I attended a product roll-out party for a new computer system, and I asked the marketing manager, “did anybody consider the symbolism in serving lemon cake and lemonade here”?
Amazon reviews look phony,three of the 7 5 star reviews are from people who have rated only one item,these headphones. These could be great but I don’t trust the Amazon reviews
@chienfou Correct. Though I could not really detect a change between when noise canceling was on and off. That’s not a deal breaker for me anyway. They work great for phone calls - clear and a decent microphone…and no cord noise. In fact, I think I’ll grab a set of these so I have a pair for work and a pair for home.
@tweezak
I tried out the noise canceling function over the top of a HEPA fan. I could tell a change in the high frequencies but not the low, but still what do you expect for 10 bucks!?
For $29 with shipping why not? I’m sure something like this sold at markdown stores like Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshalls would cost around the same or more for a Bluetooth with Mic.
I have used earbuds from Wicked before and if the headphones are as good these should be fine. Unfortunately I just got 2 pair of the Altigo ones mentioned above which will do for now.
My 7th grader has hearing aids and the ones from a couple weeks ago, while comfy, don’t give him enough room. The larger ear cups are just what he needs.
“Battery life is crazy, like 13 hours” If they mean crazy in a bad way I agree. 13 hours for this size headphones is terrible. You can find some with 40-50 hours of playtime. Overkill, yes but 13 hours is not a lot.
My favorite headphones just died and I need a new set anyways. Good price for feature set.
Took a scroll through other review sites. One review said highs were meh, but others disagreed. Not sure I can tell the difference anyways, so let’s find out!
@chienfou I bet that’s a benefit of the original VMP. My current membership just says membership. We’ll see what happens at 4EST. (I dropped VMP and added the new membership at some point… Didn’t seem to be much different)
@candiedisilvio1@Kidsandliz
VMP is a legacy program with additional benefits… like the 4pm sale. It is no longer available to start but if you have it you keep it as long as you pay the $5 fee each month
Shipping time really sucks! It’s been 3 weeks today, still no headphones. Don’t use the virus as an excuse, I order a lot of things off the internet, never had tow ait 3 weeks (unless it’s from China). This isn’t coming from China, is it?
I bought these and like them. The bass is a little overdone, so I can understand why @bubasan says they sound muffled. Also, my ears are a little larger than the ear cups, but it’s not really a problem. All the headphones I have either have too little bass or too much. In a former life, I had some Koss Pro 4A’s that were just right and beautiful. I use headphones extensively, so I go through a lot of them - usually they die from cord failures, so this BT model is a nice change. Most are ear buds that don’t sound very good until I jam them into my ears - which hurts. That’s another reason I like these circumaural headphones - no jamming and they’re comfortable to wear.

@ecanada Wait, you got freebies if you shelled out $20 for pasta?

@ecanada dammit.

@stinks $10 coupon to Meh, MorningSave, Casemates, SideDeal and Mediocratee.
Didn’t even know! Just thought I could use (what i’m guessing is) 20lbs of pasta in my fallout shelter.

Used my first pasta coupon. Since the only time I wear headphones are when I mow I figure these will be more comfortable than ear buds.
@remo28 if you are drowning out the sound of a mower with cheap earphones you are ruining your hearing. Earbuds under over the ear hearing protection would work better for you.
@remo28 @zachhh This is exactly what I do and it works better than anything else I’ve tried.
@zachhh it’s not loud enough to drown out the mower. But loud enough to hear the music. I really hate earbuds, because I find them all uncomfortable after anything more than 30 minutes.

Oooh they make a headphone in stereo now
Wicked audio hum? No wonder they ended up for sale here.
@InFrom Hmmmm
@hchavers @InFrom yeah, someone in marketing not thinking it through.
Years ago, I attended a product roll-out party for a new computer system, and I asked the marketing manager, “did anybody consider the symbolism in serving lemon cake and lemonade here”?
@InFrom @st_ellis Nokia had the great campaign slogan for the first Internet capable mobile phone: “Command in Hand”
@InFrom Yeah. I’m not sure if that’s the product’s name or a description of their performance.
Maybe both!!
@hchavers @InFrom @st_ellis GM “Impact” electric concept car. I guess now we know “what killed the electric car.”
Guess it’s better than ugly socks or crappy silverware, but I gotta pass on this one.

See, I prolly shouldn’t be buying something like this right now. But it is so, so tempting.
Said to my husband an hour ago how I wanted to get a pair of wireless over-the-ear headphones to wear to the gym sooo that worked out really well
@aliasdenied that seems like they would get really hot and sweaty. Just a thought.
@aliasdenied @tweezak you… Dislike? Hot and sweaty?
@aliasdenied @unksol There is a time and a place for everything. My ears are not that place.
Eh, I remember hearing about the amazing battery life of the last set of earbuds.
Just bought these for $10 and have only used them long enough to sample the sound quality: https://meh.com/forum/topics/altigo-active-noise-cancelling-wireless-headphones
If I buy another pair my wife will never let me hear the end of it.
But then again, they are noise canceling…
@tweezak correction: not noise canceling
@tweezak the first ones are

$@#^$@#^$ Meh! Stop tempting me with headphones! I only have two ears! Tempt me with pringles instead!
@cfg83 But you only have one mouth.

For noise isolating over-ears nothing beats my 3M Work Tunes.

Bluetooth with Mic? Sure - let’s see how they compare to the Steelseries Arctis 1 just purchased for $80
/giphy warn-ruddy-veil
@hpw3inc no microphone
@hpw3inc @Thirtybird It says mic and track control. Many say it has a mic but I think it has mic control? I need one with a mic.
All other wicked audio stuff that came in irks were trash. Very cheap and terrible sound quality.
“Battery life is crazy, like 13 hours” If they mean crazy in a bad way I agree. 13 hours for this size headphones is terrible. You can find some with 40-50 hours of playtime. Overkill, yes but 13 hours is not a lot.
@pjdeeb True story. I get 60+ with my Anker headphones

Only 13 hours of battery life? Come on, I get 60 hours with my Anker Soundcore Q10’s. That’s what I measure all BT headphones by nowadays.
@petrosclark So you have already have headphones you like. Sounds like you’re all set! No need to buy these!

Rats… Missed it. Do they still have a 1pm VMP second chance?
@rmeden it’s at 4pm EST so if your on the west coast I guess it would be 1pm good luck
@candiedisilvio1 @rmeden
Unless you’re using another account the 4pm one is just for VMP members. Don’t see a V by your name, just a heart…
@chienfou I bet that’s a benefit of the original VMP. My current membership just says membership. We’ll see what happens at 4EST. (I dropped VMP and added the new membership at some point… Didn’t seem to be much different)
@chienfou @rmeden I just noticed the heart. I have a V wonder what the difference is
@candiedisilvio1 heart = member, V= VMP

Bluetooth does not sync with PS4. Ordered a audio cable with mic to try. Not sure if it’ll work…
These headphones suck. They sound muffled, even when connected via the aux cable.
You took my money 19 days ago…still not delivered…

I’m looking at the tracking information, it’s been sitting somewhere in Hillsboro, Mo. since the 20th of May. Guess where I live? Hillsboro, Mo.

These seem really tight. Is it just me? Will they loosen up? Some people think I have a big head but I think they mean that figuratively.
