@ShotgunX I read it. And I don’t care. Fuckface Chump is outta here. See how nice it is to actually have a compassionate person that cares about their fellow human beings?
@cinoclav It doesn’t count if the only reason he cares is because he’s senile, and forgot how to be a douchebag politician like the rest of every single one of them.
@cinoclav@dvermilion@ShotgunX Yeah, strangers on the internet not caring about each other’s feelings is definitely scariest problem we face in this nation.
It’s a way to lower business costs by having workers pay for their own office space and business services. They don’t even have to give time off for workers to deal with family medical events to get around having to comply with the FMLA.
@dvermilion@mike808 I live in northen Idaho. Luckly since covid I dont have to be in office the whole week. I personally love my home office better than my work office as far as comfort and productivity. Love my co workers but just seem to get a lot more done at home.
Happily admitting that “boring” and “normal” is preferable to what we’re coming out of (if not the ideal we’re ostensibly aiming for), and my noticeable elation (and somewhat unexpected in its degree, given the boring, normal bits) and the historical milestones that Kamala helps us achieve notwithstanding, I didn’t find the ceremony altogether enthralling (the Obamas and Lady Gaga were the highlights for me). I nabbed my IRK when I’m sure others were focused on their screens for other reasons; which is to say, it worked out great for me.
Really, a mehrathon seems like a fitting way to celebrate a slight turning of the tide–away from the grotesque and back to the merely mediocre.
@joelmw, @joelmw, @joelmw - You didn’t care for Biden’s speech? I found it pretty great. Also Amanda Gorman. Gonna watch that again, and probably again.
My first thought as Biden’s oath ended was huge relief that the nuclear codes are back in safe hands.
Picked up online: “Let’s pretend that last guy never happened; like a fart in a meeting”.
Glad you got that IRK. I’m still not in that club, but then, I was distracted.
@kdemo It was pretty good. I liked it more than I expected to (honestly, I only caught bits and pieces). And I am kinda giddy. But recognizing that my reaction/assessment is largely about the contrast and knowing that he’s basically saying things that Democrats have been saying for years (and the rhetoric is mostly not bad, but the actual follow-through hasn’t been good) and knowing how he addressed the issues that matter to me throughout the campaign (to be fair, he was working to get elected and trying to appeal across the board), my perspective is that we’re going to have to work this president to get what we need. And given that they’ve already done more to “reach out” to and “unify” with the Right than they’ve done to even acknowledge concerns from the Left, yeah, my expectations are low. Pretty much all that mainstream and DNC/leading Democrats do with minorities and the far left is castigate and dismiss us and count on us for support.
Like I said, a return to boring and normal is pretty exciting after what we’ve been through. It’s just sad that we’re basically back to what used to be the baseline.
All that being said, I AM jazzed about Bernie’s committee chairmanship.
But, sigh, if only Joe and Kamala were everything the Republicans keep promising they are. Yaknow, I see those alarmist Republican memes about their being radical/socialist and they list all of these dramatic and “dangerous” programs (universal healthcare, redistribution of wealth, gay marriage everywhere, etc.) and my response is, “if only”.
I do appreciate his first-day executive orders too. But again, that’s just about getting us back to normal. Worth celebrating, but not where the fight ends.
I am most happy about never again needing to pay attention to that orange shithead (hopefully never ever again; I truly don’t care what happens to him, as long as his influence continues to diminish). Such a relief. I truly just hate (and have always hated) him, his existence and his presence in the culture, not even counting the danger of his being in any way in control.
we aren’t able to sleep anyways , why not surf meh dot com all night
What better way to celebrate the impending destruction of our nation and society, than with some mindless, American consumerism?
@ShotgunX Yeah, we did that for four years. Today, things take a turn for the better. Starting off with an early Irk.
@cinoclav @ShotgunX
@cinoclav I said “impending,” not “ending.”
@ShotgunX I read it. And I don’t care. Fuckface Chump is outta here. See how nice it is to actually have a compassionate person that cares about their fellow human beings?

@cinoclav @ShotgunX
Honestly this attitude scares me more than all the extremists combined.
@cinoclav @dvermilion @ShotgunX Yeah, strangers on the internet not caring about each other’s feelings is definitely scariest problem we face in this nation.
@ShotgunX Actually, today marks the re-building of this great nation.
@andrewkl Thank you for the correction.
@andrewkl @ShotgunX ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°) Better safe than sorry.
I’ve been thinking about stroopwaffels for a few days now. I thought, maybe on Meh theyll have them and I’ll actually buy them. Goto meh.com
YOU HAVE 49 SECONDS TO BUY 120!!!
I’m a chump.
@bythewar you can still buy ‘em, even after the timer ends:
So does their merchandise.
because woot did their thing yesterday and it broke (app problems)?
@kmbear I think they have pills for that? Woot probably even sells them…
I’m really into the rapid fire and short, short write ups. It’s fun.
Much less into the festive flickering of the background. I thought my phone was dying.
Meh. It’s not a super busy day for me. I’ll prolly listen to the news on the radio while I have the site up.
I get to wait in a dentist office as my father has oral surgery… so… going to remote work and audio book…
@frankthehobo Where the heck do you live?
@dvermilion @frankthehobo
He lives where he works. It’s literally in the name “work from home”
