Who hasn't finished Christmas shopping yet?
12This is my 110th topic. Very important to announce this.
I haven’t finished shopping yet. I didn’t get out of bed until 1:30 this afternoon. That was not my intention. Oops.
Instead of my plan to get up early before it gets crazy, I decided that I’m going to go shopping late instead. Two of the stores I’m going to are close by each other and they close at 11pm. The third store is open 24 hours. I’m placing one order online so I just have to walk in and pick it up instead of being lost all over the store.
I didn’t mean to procrastinate.
I remember a long time ago my dad had mentioned that he went shopping on Christmas Eve and it was actually really easy and not that crowded. Maybe I get it from him.
Who hasn’t finished their shopping yet?

I started and ended Christmas shopping today. Even shipped the packages… they’ll get their gifts before New Years, which is good enough. mehry christmas.
I am really done. I did pretty well preparing earlier as I wanted. I even finished wrapping today. I had to travel today for a swim meet my daughter was having - the line of cars turning into the mall was CRAZY! In fact my 3 hrs of driving saw every shopping center and restaurant near a shopping center packed. If I had to endure that I probably would of had to “cut a bitch”.

I had one last item - a power cord for the meh Toshiba Chromebook 2 I refurbed for my daughter (previously changed battery, put in a new screen, power jack, and added a pretty aqua iPearl case - looks good).
Amazon says it will be delivered Mon. (Xmas Eve) which is awesome if it happens.
The scary thing is I need the cord (last one is shit and had to be in at a funny angle to work and I did not want it fucking up the new jack) to see if the new screen is working - fingers crossed.
@mfladd hope it works out!
My retail associate curse is following me around. Went to Michael’s because it was close by a store I was at and open late. As I’m walking towards the front of the store I hear a “Ma’am, do you work here?” faintly behind me. I try to ignore it, because, surprise, I don’t work there, and then I hear a louder, “MA’AM!” I turn around and she asks again if I work there. I just say no and keep walking away. She apologizes that she only saw me from the back. I really wanted to scream that the people working there are wearing bright red vests and name badges on lanyards. I’m wearing a black T-shirt with the Violator from Spawn on it. I think it might of thrown her off when I turned around. I probably don’t have a nice face on.
Oops.
Lol, wtf!? It just happened again. I’m trying to leave Target, walking behind some lady that is blocking the exit and going really slow. I’m trying to get to the side and she says, “Do you want to see my receipt?” I say, “I don’t work here. This is the second time today, do I look like I work everywhere?” and we both kinda laughed. I also died a little inside.
FYI. Target employees wear red tshirts. Once again. I’m wearing a black shirt.
/giphy dead inside

@RiotDemon Ma’am. Ma’am! MA’AM!
Do… Do you work here?
@RiotDemon I get that allllll the time… Most of the people who work in our retail are young and have multi colored hair and lots of piercings! I am old and greying!
@mikibell I do get told often that I look like I’m in my twenties. Maybe that’s part of it?
Then again, there was a time that I was at harbor freight in camo shorts, flip flops, a graphic tee, sunglasses, and my hair was loose. I still got confused for an associate.
@djslack @RiotDemon saw a “Don’t Open Dead Inside” painted on barn doors in Polk County, FL. Creeped me out (I don’t watch TWD) but thought of you when I found this…
@llangley it’s so cute!
Got my last gift this afternoon, got it and all the stragglers wrapped and under the tree. I thought I was done shopping after a marathon at Michael’s, I happened to be in the store when they marked all the Christmas stuff down 70%, and I got a lot of nice stuff. But an old friend texted last night that he and his fiance are in town, so back out shopping today.
Here’s my Charlie Brown Christmas tree and my assortment of outgoing gifts.

@moondrake those are beautiful!
I didn’t buy anything at Michael’s. The good stuff was already sold out. I was bummed.
I didn’t get to do any. No money this year.
@Pony While I can appreciate the holiday glitz - they mean nothing without the “spirit” - if you have that you are richer than you know.
@mfladd Agreed. I have it good in the ways that count. Finances will get better once we stop having to sink all the money into getting our little homestead/farm all fixed up the way we want it.
@Pony The homestead is the important thing anyway - I’m in the same boat. Good luck with it!
@mfladd Thanks- and back atcha.
In any rational, practical sense, yes, I am done. But then the OCD kicks in and I never really feel like I’m done.
@macromeh I know that feeling. When you are done you are thinking, maybe just a few more small things for the stocking.
I am done shopping but for some unGodly reason I am headed to the mall for santa pictures with my great nephew… If this isn’t love, I don’t know what is!!
@mikibell Well, he is great…
@moondrake but he is not great great… Got a new one of them!!
told him he doesnt have to stand on tradition…he can shorten it to gigi!!
DONE!
@therealjrn Dammit. No, I guess I’m not. I bought a package of those goofy light-up pens and now I can’t remember where I put it. I got various purses and backpacks for the kiddos, nice crisp folding money to go in them, candy…and I can’t find the pens.
I bet they turn up in the last place I look.
@therealjrn Nevermind, they were in my office. Shit. Where else would I put pens?
@therealjrn Was it the last place you looked or did you keep looking
@speediedelivery I’ll bet a candy cane that he kept looking.
@Barney @speediedelivery Well, just a little, to make sure.
@Barney @therealjrn I guess I owe you a candy cane. I thought I could win this one.
I won’t really know until tomorrow whether I’m done shopping or not. Or if I found and wrapped every gift. But I might be done, so I think I’ll take a nap now.
I’m done shopping* but haven’t wrapped anything.
*Technically I still need to get a few more properly-sized pictures for the photo collage from our WDW trip in May but that won’t happen before Christmas. The frame has such odd-sized openings.
