Prob as the kid in “the shootist”
@meh427 perhaps you’re referring to Ron Howard
@meh427 :
I think he loved Conan the best, and whichever character the writer likes best will win out in the end. So my money’s on Conan.
@moondrake - Breckinridge Elkins made ol’ Two-Gun Bob a sight more money than Conan ever did:
I think I need to go book shopping. The Conan stories are wonderful but I’ve never read his other works…
@duodec - I went through a big REH phase many years ago, though I don’t think I ever got around to Costigan. Kull and Bran Mak Morn are very much in the spirit of Conan, Solomon Kane is an interesting variant on the theme, El Borak is a kind of poor man’s Talbot Mundy. Breckinridge Elkins is something completely different, a Wild-West mountain-man comedy series, which is frequently good for a chuckle if you like that kind of thing. REH’s weird horror is good too, some Cthulhu mythos, some not.
Haha. Those images are too much. I was just being a smart ass, but that made my day.
A friend got me into those books as a youngster. We would ride our bikes all day to buy old SSOC. I still have all of them up at the old house.
