@2many2no Man, I don’t remember the green Beast at all, and now I feel like the rest of my day will be spent trying to figure out the when and why of it. Thanks
Gambit. I hate that they have Channing Tatum slated to take over the role. Nightcrawler second. It was great to see him done justice in the latest X film.
I’ve only got into DC/Marvel in the past 10 yrs as my hubby got our boys into them, so i dont know for sure, but is Quicksilver considered an X-Men? If so i like him like i like Flash. But if he’s only considered pseudo-X-Men, then Nightcrawler.
I also find Jane Gray and Cyclops cool heroes (cyclops can save more than i’d expect given he has one relatively limited power) but angst-ridden whiny people, so not them for sure.
Nightcrawler, because once, when his teleport powers were on the fritz, fell off the top of the Empire State Building and survived, due to his gymnastic prowess.
I think Mister Sinister had turned New York into hell or something; there were gargoyles and flying demons all about to cushion his fall.
A 6th use? Well sure. Ive always had this idea, this ringing in my head. WHY can’t we dehydrate eggs and rehydrate them with coffee. You see, im not much of a morning person and the thought of cooking eggs AND making coffee tips the scales to overwhelming. But if we were to combine them…just imagine the things we could accomplish. So, there it is, a de-re-hydrator. So simple!
Gambit. Even though I hated his accent and his overall attitude, I REALLY liked his power. Being able to pick up anything and turn it into a mini impact bomb seemed cool as hell when I was younger.
Are people not giving Colossus love because he is Russian and it’s a bad time to be a Russian sympathizer? If so, I think he would be anti-establishment so I think it would be okay to like him.
@elimanningface I like Colossus as a supporting character and straight man, and I’d certainly want him at my back (actually in front of me) in a fight.
And it takes some serious cajones for a guy made of metal to go up against Magneto of all villains. But to make it onto my favorites list you need to have some wit, hence Gambit, Nightcrawler and the Beast topping my X folks faves.
@f00l The relationship between Xavier and Magneto has always been my favorite element of the X series. Both essentially good men, both trying to protect the people they love, both friends who respect one another, in continual opposition over their elementary assessment of whether or not the human race will embrace mutants or destroy them. Unfortunately I think Magneto is the realist.
@moondrake and they are brothers, right? Or half brothers? Maybe step brothers? Brothers from another mother…or father? My point is, I agree with you .
@elimanningface No, not that I’ve ever heard. Magneto was a small child in the Nazi death camps in WW2, as I recall he was a Gypsy in the comics but they made him Jewish in the movies. He met Xavier in the 60’s, he’s 5 or 10 years older than Xavier. They may have met in college. It was the perfect setting for the kind of ideological clash between friends that their relationship is founded on. The thing is, time just passes too fast in the real world. It’s hard to update characters like these as there’s really nothing more recent comparable to those two time periods. Yet we don’t want to let go of them, and we don’t want them to be octogenarians. So we kind of have to use historic settings like XMen First Class, yet the modern action fan prefers contemporary settings. It’s a conundrum, which they solved by making the perrenially popular Wolverine all but immortal. But it doesn’t solve the aging problem for the rest of the interesting and well developed characters from that corner of the Marvel Universe.
@f00l I was really into comics in the 80s, and the XMen most of all. It’s a very rich side universe, with a host of well developed characters and a n interesting source of conflict: a new step in human evolution. What eventually pushed me out of comics was a) characters I liked having guest roles in other comics where character development occurred, meaning you had to buy a half dozen expensive titles to follow any single character and never had a clue what was happening in these other storylines, and b) Marvel became the Wolverine Show, all Logan all the time. He’s an okay character, always seemed a bit of teen boy wish fulfillment to me, but I liked him as a member of the team. Not so much when he ended up in every comic I picked up at the center of every story. I switched to anime and manga for a few years then quit. I do enjoy the movies, especially the First Class movies.
@thismyusername I always thought they could have done so much more with Legion, but then I haven’t cracked open a comic book in so long.
@PocketBrain check the show out if you haven’t… it even stands alone on its own.
Beanverine
@2many2no Man, I don’t remember the green Beast at all, and now I feel like the rest of my day will be spent trying to figure out the when and why of it. Thanks
@Nuurgle Ooops! Sorry to “waste” your day like that.
I’d never seen him before either, but I found the picture here.
@Nuurgle I think that one might actually be from one of the DC/Marvel Amalgam comics from the 90’s…
John Doe.
@Ignorant
Not Doe John?
@Ignorant I was going to say Exene, but really any choice is good.
@mossygreen yep. D.J. and Zoom would also be acceptable answers
@mossygreen
Cervenka?
Almost got stomped flat at one of the concerts, but it was worth it. Great concert.
@f00l Are there others?
“I don’t care” should probably be a choice for most poll questions.
I’d use this to cook the fur off my sheepskin but it dosent include a scraper
@Kuandt this poll? Wolverine can be used as a scraper.
Gambit. I hate that they have Channing Tatum slated to take over the role. Nightcrawler second. It was great to see him done justice in the latest X film.
@moondrake Ugh! I hadn’t heard about Tatum.
Armor.

@PocketBrain Does he look like a worm? We oust go picking night crawlers in t he backyard when is was consumed with fishing.

@cmrlightsout WTF just happened here?
I always liked Morph from the 90’s x-men cartoon.
Wolverine. Not because he’s the coolest but because Hugh Jackman was my first crush.

Does Negasonic Teenage Warhead count?

@elimanningface Yeah, I don’t think Пётр would support a Dictator. He’s good peeps.
@elimanningface I like Colossus as a supporting character and straight man, and I’d certainly want him at my back (actually in front of me) in a fight.

A 6th use could be to make your own deep-fried twinkies with this bad boy
@davideward possibly but I think the Ron Popeil 5-in-1 cooking system that is currently being featured on @meh.com might do a better job than this poll question. Just my opinion.
Hi @meh.
@PlacidPenguin hi.
@elimanningface ur dum
Any that have something in common with Gandalf or Captain Picard get points just for that.

@moondrake
That just got complicated.
But I know nothing of the Marvel Universe.

Jesus christ, where the hell is Kitty Pryde?!
@bratling probably stuck in a wall somewhere. Lockheed was the only reason to keep her around.
Emmanuelle. For obvious reasons.
