Ugh. The worst thing about picnics (yes, even above ants and yellow jackets) is the inevitable idiot with a boombox on max playing some obnoxious tune (and they are all obnoxious when played with a boombox on max) so that you have to yell to talk over it.
Picnic. Outside. Nice food and drink. Nice breezes and bird song. And a baseball bat to chase away the idiot with the boombox. Now, that’s a picnic!
Definitely Teddy Bear Picnic. See conandlibrarian above for Gerry Garcia version. I heard a livelier version every Saturday morning on the RADIO as a prelude to a kids program. Pre-TV. YES, I’m OLD. It’s a good thing.
Kites Are Fun is one of my all-time favorite songs.
Quit making polls about songs I’ve probably never heard before, you old people.
@thismyusername Are they still the Monkees without Davy? That’s like Queen without Freddie.
@joelmw I love Tom Lehrer!
KC and the Sunshine Band
Always think of Lawn Darts when I think of picnics…

@eeterrific This is the only song here I listened to beginning to end.
"Every day they leave a tray
And take an empty one away
On that tray are chicken legs
Potato salad and some eggs…"
Gin and Juice.
A song about a painting, from a musical about a painter.
Any summer Saturday…
you can have some fun.

Maybe you go on vacation…
or maybe you stay close to home…
or even just stay inside.
But it’s all good in the summertime.
@2many2no Nice!

Please add in a, none of the above option. I really dislike when I can’t vote.

I love the Monkees Andy Partridge song because 10 seconds in there is absolutely no doubt that it’s an Andy Partridge song.
Stoned Soul Picnic for sure, but the Nyro version.

I like the Fresh Young Fellows song. Thanks, @jasontoon, for introducing me to these singers I have never heard of week after week.
