I’ve eaten at Bobby Flay’s restaurant in Vegas a couple of times. Back when it was Tex-Mex, it was a truly memorable meal. After he went Italian seafood, it was decent, but not nearly worth the money…
Alex guarnaschelli. She has such a wide range, and she makes really smart choices with flavor and textures in a way that I like. Jet tila is a close second as I have one of his cookbooks and make the mu ping and Thai sauce from it regularly and love it
Alejandro Carilla, POV Cocinero MX on YouTube. I would love to have one or more of his breakfasts. His kitchen skills, organization, hygiene, and cleanliness are amazing.
I love to watch this man cook. He is a one man show in that he does the prep and the cooking on the morning shift in this small town CA restaurant.
I have watched him being slammed with a 30 breakfast burrito order on top of all the rest of the regular orders and have watched him continue to cook to fill orders during power outages owing to the recent CA wildfires.
The man is resilient, has great resourceful, presence of mind, and a great, but humble attitude.
@Kyeh You mean you would like to be invited to the Hamptons and rub elbows with a bunch of the other generational-wealth WASPs? Otherwise, I don’t know if I could hang out with her if she had to say, cook a meal with only Whole Foods ingredients and considers my status in life as “the help.”
I think Maneet would have the most interesting food. Alex Guarnaschelli would be up there, though. Antonia Lofaso is pretty cool, too. Michael Voltaggio would bring something wild.
@DLPanther@mycya4me PS: I get way more than my fair share of the feed from Food Network. The only thing I really don’t watch much of is the competition shows (though I don’t mind GGG & Chopped occasionally)
@KNmeh7 After I got out of the hospital, I was able to get reservations at Morimoto in Philadelphia for our 21st anniversary. It turns out it was the same day of his 20th anniversary there. It was a 10 course Omakase menu that was probably one of my top 5 meals of all time. He was a riot and made sure to visit every table. Very cool to meet him
You people pay money to sit and watch these self-absorbed celebs pretend to cook?!? I’d rather go back in time, and have my mom cook me dinner one last time. That was real food, from a real person without a support staff (except us kids ).
My grandmother. RIP Although she ain’t famous and on the FN. And she’s no longer with us, so I’ll need a time machine and a portal. This is getting complicated. But you have never had her buttermilk biscuits with butter and jam. Sheeeeeeit.
@briancmason Not if, but WHEN I figure out this time machine I’ve been working on, you may be one of the first grants that I’m going to give out. That’s an awesome memory & hope you do her proud by recreating her biscuits to the best of your ability, on a regular basis.
Giada De Laurentis.
@yakkoTDI even if it’s just Marmite on toast!
Kardea Brown
Bobby Flay is the only one I recognize.
@PooltoyWolf
Me too.
Alton Brown
@baqui63 hands down. end of quiz

@Jamileigh17 I saw this poll and went HOW is Iron Chef Alex not on this list!!!
Morimoto, only cause Gordon Ramsey isn’t listed!
I would also pick Alex Guarnaschelli. I like her style and ingredient choices. Bobby uses chili in pretty much everything, which I wouldn’t like.
Marcus Samuelsson, Kevin Gillespie or David Chang

Morimoto Masaharu makes the food I’d most like to try, but Ina Garten is the one I’d most like to hang out with.

@Kyeh she seems really interesting.
@tinamarie1974 She seems like a lot of fun to me! And reportedly she’s very relaxed and friendly.

Gordon Ramsey please cook for me.
Why the heck was Gordon Ramsey not listed?
@mycya4me He’s not on Food Network more than anything I’d say.
@mycya4me @tohar1 The comments clearly don’t watch nearly as much trash food television as they should.
@DLPanther @mycya4me PS: I get way more than my fair share of the feed from Food Network. The only thing I really don’t watch much of is the competition shows (though I don’t mind GGG & Chopped occasionally)
Gordon Ramsey, cause i’d like to cuss him out when he screws up even a little bit.
There should be a gif of Gordon Ramsey chugging Pepto Bismol on the show Hot Ones.. Classic episode.
Alton Brown, if I could talk with him as he cooked. Giada if not, because hoity-toity Italian-american food seems delicious.
@jamesmcp I love Alton. For my wife’s 50th I got her a Cameo from him and he absolutely rocked it
@capnjb @jamesmcp THAT IS SOOOO COOOOL!!
Alton Brown. Y’know, the Good Eats guy from back in the day.
Alex Guarnaschelli
How about a real “food” network: PBS. Easily Jacques Pepin. Pepin with Child? Then Ming Tsai.
And it would have to be Morimoto, without a doubt. If I ever had the chance to pick from the OG Iron Chefs, it would be Sakai.

@capnjb That is a great memory! He seems personable on TV, but you never know.
Did one of the courses feature monkfish? I remember watching him make an entire tasting menu using all the parts of the fish on some show.
@KNmeh7 No monkfish that day. But everything was Michelin star level. And every course was paired with sake, beer or wine. Here is the menu:
@KNmeh7 He even brought back all the chefs who were there at the start and they drank sake all night. Might be why he was in such a great mood

Rick Bayless is technically a “Food Network personality” because he won Top Chef Masters. So I’m picking him.
@ddbelyea

With as much as Brooke Williamson has won, her food has to be amazing.
I would pick Alton Brown.

@ETFrisco Are you Anton or Remy?

VAN MURALS! GROUND SQUIRRELS! SPIT CURLS! AWESOME!
Padma Lakshmi

I want the frugal gourmet from way back. he cooks with whatever wine he is drinking at the moment.
@rancho And with whatever little kids he was “with”
@squishybrain No, I think @rancho must be talking about Graham Kerr, The Galloping Gourmet; Jeff Smith didn’t drink on his show.

@Kyeh @squishybrain Yes, I guess I was drinking the wine when I wrote my answer. Thanks so much for the correction.
@rancho @squishybrain
@Kyeh @rancho Yikes! You’re right! You obviously meant the Galloping Gourmet. The Frugal Gourmet was a Protestant Minister accused of molestation.
