Again, more angst and confusion - I am still perplexed at this strange 7 day thing, I challenge anyone to supply any valid data that this is serving any purpose for visits or whatever or just a way to get more threads going.
Again, why can’t the click-face view be a selectable option in the profile, so people who want them will have them all the time, those that don’t, won’t, and those who don’t care can continue to do so. Harrumph and good night …
@stolicat I don’t really understand it either. They took it away completely until the outcry of the masses brought it back in this form. You should ask @dave or @snapster.
@medz So, assuming there’s really only some dozens who really want it there all the time, the default setting would be off, which most people wouldn’t bother changing. So the net bandwidth load would probably be the same or lower than the current setup. And I can’t imagine a bunch of single-bit icons adding that much overhead, anyway.
of course, this is just my speculative take on it - would love to hear what the actual Meh nerds have to say about it.
@medz@stolicat I’m still pushing my proposal, which is rather than >6 days-in-a-row, do >30 clicks-all-time. Would take longer to get there, but if new people want to see it, it builds a sticky habit, and would be a nice delighter if someone stumbled into it.
Before I clicked my first Meh button, I had no idea how rewarding it was. Then, before I saw my first “collection”, I had no idea what a sense of accomplishment it was. But it wasn’t until I lost my first streak that I had any idea how much enjoyment it gave me.
That, or it’s just another form of addiction for which I desperately need help.
@ybmuG Keep hitting the meh button every day. Once you start hitting milestones (which are completely arbitrary and up to you), you’ll never want to stop.
Your punishment for missing a day is that you can’t see them until you log seven more in a row.
I was wondering the same thing but didn’t want to say something and find out they’ve been gone for months.
Edit: And now I see them again. Shit.
You must have missed a day. Resume daily clicking. In seven days you’ll see the faces.
Aww crap, now I’ve missed a day.
Well, I didn’t I was here all day, but for some reason I never dropped in on Meh until “tomorrow”, since it’s now after 10pm.

@dave @RiotDemon @snapster @stolicat
The change in the clicky-faces display rules seems entirely pointless and self-defeating.
Ok I’m a biz dumbass. But I didn’t get that there was a good reason for the change back then, and I don’t get it now either.
@dave @RiotDemon @snapster they’ve been asked a few times when this comes up …
@stolicat I think they removed it to save on bandwidth costs of loading it to the page for everyone.

Ah crap. I had like 290ish. Longest streak ever
My life has no meaning during those Punishing 7 Days. (sigh) “They” know exactly what their doing! Stop messin with my mind!
@tasu99 for some solace, peek at your profile during those 6 days - your streak count should show there.

I refuse to have a streak longer than 42. It’s the answer!
@IWUJackson To what question?
@IWUJackson @shahnm life, the universe, heck everything!
@shahnm, there’s a question?
@haydesigner It’ll take a pretty big computer to figure out what it is…
@haydesigner @shahnm It was my understanding that there would be no math.
@haydesigner @therealjrn You’ll have to check with the pretty big computer.
