I'm currently going through the process to get my wife a US spousal visa (a hellish process I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy… merely all Senators and Representatives. IMMIGRATION REFORM THIS, JERKWADS). It occasionally involves printing and mailing large batches of paper, though some parts of the process can be done entirely via online or PDF forms now - you've got to pay attention to which ones can be done which way, though.
@Albright My nephew and his bride did all of the wedding stuff except for getting a wedding license. They are going to get the wedding license after she gets her citizenship, since she is already several years down a different path to citizenship.
The whole process is stupidly fragile. Any change can derail the process.
Working in a sector of the construction industry, some things have to be printed, and others are just far easier to work with printed; giant architectural plans, for example. But for home use... Once or twice a year, max.
At work, all the time. At home? Errmmm... I was going to print the "Welcome" sign for trick-or-treaters but I forgot. Soooo.... June. Yeah, I'm gonna say June.
a few years back, my brother found a cheap(>$100)Network laser printer on amazon for home. for those times he absolutely needed to print something @ home. prior to that he would mostly print @ work, but when he needed to print @ home, most of the time the inks would be dried up from non-use.
At work? Today
At home? August
@nadroj At work? Today. At home? 2010
I print shipping labels daily, but can't remember last time I printed a photo. Wish I still had a dot matrix.
Printed a shipping label like a day or two ago.

@Albright Where are you importing her from?
@curtise "Importing" is a poor choice for a word, but… She's a Chinese citizen.

Good luck with your quest.
Since I work from home, my company gave me a nice 3-in-1 color laser printer. We use it all the time. I get the paper and toner for free, too.

@PocketBrain Oh hey wait, I print on my 3D printer just about every day. :-) I was thinking just regular on-paper printing.
I work at home and print hundreds of pages so I need the laser. But I got the color just for me. I print a lot of coupons.
I had to hook up my printer after two years to print off some tickets because I forgot to at work.

@earlyre laser printer got a nice brother printer for under 100 networked too ( let's not discuss figuring out the network set up)
