Whatever I feel like. Chocolate, Cheeto’s/Twisties, fries/chips, hot dogs, burgers. Who cares: if you want and it’s not illegal have fun. Just be aware it may kill you.
Well, my go to snack is chocolate-often candy because it keeps in a drawer. I eat chocolate cookies and cakes also. Tonight, for dessert, I had some fantastic sourdough bread with excellent chocolate chunks from the Berkshire Mountain Bakery (I think they do mail order).
There’s not much that I reach for, all the stuff I’ve ever really liked got discontinued, and 3/4 of the rest has canola oil in it. So I roast my own pecans, and pick up a couple of other things now and then, and that’s pretty much it.
Homemade Texas trash, a savory mix of Chex cereals, cheese crackers, pretzels, cheerios, peanuts and pecans, toasted in canola and seasoned with Worcester powder and cayenne.
Lately for snacking fodder I buy the big bags of seasoned Chex-mix at Costco and then add nuts to it.
And BTW, chocolate is not junk food - it is an essential part of a balanced diet!
@Star2236 I’ll often get to the checkout with 2 bottles of either Cranberry or cherry juice, 6 bottles of powerade, 5 gallons of spring water, and say a bottle of tea or something, and usually make some comment along the lines of “yes, I have a drinking problem”
(notice there’s no alcohol involved)
Crunchies. Typically pretzels or corn chips.
Sweet means sugar, savory means meat (protein, umami). How did they miss this very obvious and broad class of junk food?
