i consider “waking up” in this context to be getting out of bed, not just being awoken by something and/or opening my eyes briefly. so with that in mind, go to the bathroom. if the bathroom is occupado, i cannot and will not get up. i’m amazed by people who can get up and do other things before going pee and manage to not pee their pants or the floor. (you know, depending on what you sleep in/wear when you get up.)
Turn off my alarm.
Check my phone on the way to the bathroom.
Try to convince myself to get out of bed
Try to remember what day it is.
@heartny It is Blursday, of course.
Hit the head…
It’s just so nice to not need to light a smoke first anymore.
Yawn, and wonder why I went to bed so late.

Set the alarm for nine minutes later.
Take care of my body’s chemical dependencies.

@guyfromhawthorn This was funnier when I misread change as charge.

Roll over and try to go back to sleep.
Take a minute to ponder the moment where life went wrong.
Kidding!
This poll reminded me of my favorite Australian definition:
Dingo’s breakfast - a piss and a good look around.
When I wake up, the first thing I do is open my eyes. I would highly recommend it before doing anything else.
@TheCO2
Unless, of course, the goal is to avoid actually getting up.
It depends on how the day looks. Get up, get dressed, make coffee, check the weather, then the news. Other days, to quote Emo Philips:
GRAB A BRUSH AND PUT A LITTLE MAKEUP
