Oh, you should listen to…
My Brother, My Brother and Me. 3 goofball brothers give bad, but funny, advice to Yahoo Answers and Listener’s Emails.
They also do a rules-loose D&D podcast called The Adventure Zone that starts as a joking game but evolves into an exciting and dramatic story, but never completely loses it’s funny parts.
Hello Internet, Radiolab, Cortex, No Dumb Questions, and The Unmade Podcast. I have a full 8 days of listening time just for November and December. Podcasts are more engaging than music, and cheaper than an audiobook addiction.
@ChompyGator I really like some Invisibilias’. I just listened to 'Catch Up, with Bill Millar. Is the show still putting out content? They seem really sporadic.
Myke Hurley of The Pen Addict is mentioned on page 49 of the PCalc manual.
Josh A. Cagan & Molly Lewis have a podcast called The Peanuts Gallery in which they dissect and discuss every Peanuts animated special and movie.
Judge John Hodgman is easily my favorite podcast. John Hodgman was featured on the second episode of Dead Pilots Society, a podcast that performs live readings of pilots that weren’t picked up. His show was called Only Child. It’s an autobiographical show about him growing up as an only child. The central conceit is that all the child parts are played by age-appropriate actors except the part of John Hodgman which is played by the adult John Hodgman. It was hilarious. It was so funny I listened to it twice in a row.
i’m a part time housekeeper so “doing work around the house” and “at work” are basically the same for me. the only thing i’ve been obsessed with enough to listen to outside of work was the first season of serial.
@moonhat I like that one too but you have to be prepared for some of the most devastatingly horribly depressing shit you’ve ever heard in your life. Like hearing the 911 call of a father who just discovered his daughter and son in law are dead from a murder-suicide while his grandchildren are crying in the background. But it’s worth checking out.
Thanks for these suggestions. Some of my favs:
Radiolab
TWIT
Resident Advisor (EDM)
Distorted View- An R-rated irreverent, often gross hilarious daily podcast

@jaypeeh And just for some actual background on what it is, it’s a show with really interesting stories with the internet as a sort of backdrop… but it’s not a tech show, it’s about story first and foremost. Funny and fascinating human stories in the orbit of the internet, sorta. It’s produced by Gimlet, which you’d be familiar with if you’ve heard the first season of Startup. Pretty much all the shows they put out are pretty awesome.
It bums me out that the majority of votes are for “don’t care for them” because discovering podcasts has really enriched my life. I’ve learned so much from the good ones, and laughed so much from the funny ones. Not to mention they’re (for the most part) free and don’t require you to set aside extra time to enjoy them. Just put them on while you’re dropping a deuce or mowing the lawn, might as well do something entertaining while you’re doing those things. Not that shitting isn’t entertaining.
I love “The Good News” podcast
@jml326 is that opposed to “fake news” LOL
@ragingredd
No this is CAH saves America. A year long podcast with no commercials.
@jml326 Me too! I have it as my Alexa “Morning Briefing” so when I wake up, it’s what I wake up to. Huge fan.

Welcome to Night Vale and Culture of Clouds are the only two that I listen to.
@JoetatoChip I love Welcome to Nightvale but I’m way behind. I’ll check out Culture of Clouds since you obviously have good taste.

“Reply All” is up there with the best podcasts, many of which have already been mentioned. Seriously check it out.

I listen to local sports team podcasts. Sometimes ESPN too.
