What's your wallet?
1No this isn't a capital one ad. I'm curious what people use for wallets these days. I'll take a pic of mine in a bit. But I'm using a crabby wallet. Minimalistic. But I'm thinking of possibly combining it with my mini notebook and possibly keys. (Again minimialst with keys. Car is a fob, house is a weird key. That's it. This is a link to the wallet. Here's a direct photo from the crabby site.
Yes that's where the sticker came from in @matthew's box
I'm still using a leather bifold from the 90s. It's functional.
@narfcake Same, except mine is a tri-fold. The leather is a bit worn in places but I don't consider a wallet to be a fashion statement so it's ok. Still holds all my stuff.
@hallmike Yep. I probably should go through it at some point. I mean, is it really necessary that I have a WB Animation business card from the 90's? My vet's office that doesn't exist anymore? My uncle's defunct real estate company? Two TeeTurtle cards, one official, one not?
@narfcake Yep, same for me. Basic black leather bifold. I usually clean one out and get another every couple years.
Nothing. Just a handful of cards in my pocket.
For the last 3 years. Separate biner for car key.

I have a couple models of Allett that I switch between: Original for daily use and the Sport when I am traveling and don't need the full complement of cards.
I bought a Crabby wallet, quickly realized it was too minimal for me, but never bothered to send it back. It's the one with the grey elastic band. You could have it if you want it.
I am an adult?

I can't take a pic of my wallet right now, but it is this one. I picked it up at Wally World. I was tired of leather wallets coming apart or getting gross and leaving a film on my cards. A leather bi-fold would only last about two years. This Cordura one is about to cross into year three and it looks almost new.
Oh, and I started using a KeySmart last year. I keep my keys in my back pocket and it was getting uncomfortable. $20 well spent. My pockets are much less cluttered.
My wallet consist of three card size pieces of leather stacked up and sewn together on three sides. It gives me two slots, one for DL the other for CC.
seen here:
Mine is a brown leather bi-fold style, but it has an extra "flap" inside. Extra flap has 3 card slots and a photo ID slot on the other side.
I have a total of 9 card slots, 1 photo ID slot, 2 "hidden" pockets under the slots, and the large pocket for all the dolla' dolla' bills, y'all. (and mostly receipts)
Current thickness = 1.25" (approx)
Yeah, I know that's a lot, but I like to be prepared.
Bank card, credit card/s, HSA card, Health Insurance card, Dental card, Vision Card, Rx Card, Driver's License, Wife's Old DL (so I have her DL# and in case she forgets hers places), Passport Services info card, Work Photo ID/Access Card, a couple business cards to hand out, fishing permission slip, and a few "loyalty" cards like Sam's Club/Old Chicago/Pharmacy/etc.
Do I win?
I've had a Flowfold wallet for several years. They'll probably go out of business because this thing shows zero wear and is featherlight and impossibly thin. Hand made in Maine from recycled racing sails.

I do leatherworking as a hobby and even though they are a little difficult and not very fun to make, i have made a few wallets and use this one.

@meh I really want to learn how to do some basic leather wallet type thing.... I want something to fit my field notes, a few cards and a special spot for the tile (yea I lose things and my son likes to play hide daddy's XYZ) Also the keyfob for my car is freaking huge!
@sohmageek it is definitely a fun hobby! you just need a few tools to make a little field notes cover like you are saying. i learned a lot from watching youtube videos and started out by getting a couple hundred worth of tools from Tandy.
@meh I have a lot of "junk" leather around as my wife has a few purses that are destroyed inside... but are 100% leather... and I have a coat that had an unfortunate end... when I fell and the whole side wore up on the seam mostly... :( I'd love to get it repaired(And taken in it's about a size and a half too big)... but I've been told it'll be more to repair than to buy another one :(
Am I really the first?
I carry everything around in a generic plastic baggy.
Allett. It's very thin and it even has a zip for coins. 4 card slots but each slot can easily take 5 cards.
