@PooltoyWolf There are five in DFW airport. We had to eat at one during a layover last year because it was the only thing open. It was our worst dining experience of 2024. I will do everything in my power to not fly through DFW again. On top of having to eat at Friday’s, it was the most poorly-designed airport I’ve been to in decades.
@SSteve Five? FIVE?? All inside the SAME airport? Why? My airport is the 11th busiest in the world and I’m pretty sure we have no duplicate restaurants…
@PooltoyWolf
Hotlanta [ATL]?
"Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport holds onto the top rank and is followed by Dubai International Airport for the first time, surpassing Dallas Forth Worth International Airport in third position.
From the top 10 rankings for total passenger traffic, 5 airports are in the US.
The biggest jump in the top 10 rankings is recorded for Tokyo Haneda, leaping from 16th position in 2022 to the 5th spot in 2023.
@PhysAssist Orlando International Airport (MCO), though my numbers could be a little out of date. Also one of the physically largest airports in the world, somewhere behind DEN.
My wife is Philippino and makes killer lumpia which always get fried in oil. Sometimes we pan fry steaks. More and more we are experimenting with the air fryer.
Mostly grilled, baked, sautéed. Most food prepared at home is lean proteins like fish, chicken. The fun of going out to eat is getting unhealthy fried foods. Moderation is the key but I’m not very good at moderation when it comes to fried shrimp, french fries, etc.
Air frying is different; that’s akin to baking. Though depending on how unlucky your chef is with electronics, maybe also have an extinguisher in arms reach.
I prefer to leave the clean up to the professionals.
Does T.G.I. Friday’s even exist anymore?

@PooltoyWolf Five terminals = five Friday’s. Behold and tremble: https://locations.tgifridays.com/tx/dfw-airport.html
@PooltoyWolf Sorry, my mistake. Terminal D doesn’t have one. Terminal C has TWO!
@SSteve I smell an obsession…

Thanks for the warning- we’ll seek to avoid it…

@PhysAssist So we’re number 18 now, still up there!
I have a Mimi George Forman grill. It is used at least 5 of 7 nites.
@mycya4me I knew he named all his sons George. I didn’t know he named his daughter Mimi George.
@SSteve You know that was spell check changing it. It a Mini George Forman grill!
@mycya4me Autocorrect is never wrong. That’s ducking bullshot!
@SSteve HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Your answer is Quite Quacked up! WTD!

@tweezak Just saw a beef wellington lumpia - apparently even Ramsay was impressed
Frozen junk food (tater tots, corn dogs etc.) gets air fried, from scratch battered stuff (fried chicken, coconut shrimp etc.) gets oil fried.
Air fryer/toaster oven for food from frozen. Recently threw away the deep fryer and pan fry less and less because I smell it for days in the house.
@callow That’s the thing about frying. You need powerful ventilation.
Air fry many things. Especially leftovers. Deep fry turkeys. Yes it is very redneck.

Some things get deep fried, some things get the tiny convection treatment. It really depends on their state prior to heating/reheating.
I thought it said “frying mentally” and was perplexed when there was no “yes” answer…
@ybmuG “home frying mentality” is a very weird phrase.
When the air conditioner fails in July, my home becomes either baked or air-fried, depending on my point of view that day.
Home frying? Have an extinguisher on hand.
