Another one might be the very first episode of Doctor Who, An Unearthly Child, although back then, every segment had a new title, so maybe it was the one after that.
@daveinwarsh It’s one of few cases where I really don’t care how period-accurate it is. There were fucking giant dinosaurs battling each other, what else can one ask for in life?
@thismyusername Loved that show. Saw the movie The Land That Time Forgot (same basic premise) at the Drive in… triple feature with The Blob and I don’t recall what the other one was.
@SSteve I knew that David Gerrold wrote the Trouble With Tribbles: it is probably my favorite episode of TOS. I was not aware he’d written The Sleestak God (in fact, about all I recall from that episode is its title).
@daveinwarsh Oh yeah… forgot about that one. I remember the schoolyard being filled with kids singing… “it’s about time, it’s about space, it’s about time I slapped your face” … and running around smacking each other, lol.
@daveinwarsh
I remember once getting lost in the basement of one of the UTD Medical School office buildings (was not a student) and realizing there was at least one Far Side cartoon pasted to every single door, even the janitorial closet doors and stairwell doors.
@daveinwarsh Yup… we had a “School for the gifted” moment the other day, ironically enough. I was going into a building and pushing the door, didn’t budge, then I pulled the handle… hubby was coming up behind me saying… school for the gifted?
“Do-do, Kaka, Shit.” It’s like Shakespeare himself came back from the dead to punch up the script of Ringo Star’s “Caveman.” Should be part of the canon taught in high school along with “He hates these CANS!” (“The Jerk,” Martin, Steve)
@huja Caveman was ok, only because Matuzak was in it and he died not long after. also because Ringo and babs blew off gene shalit on live tv and he went apeshit doing his review as a result. His pan didn’t matter it was still a hit though.
Star Wars.
Sid Caesar’s tribe in Mel Brooks’s “History Of The World Part I”.
@mr_crash_davis my thoughts exactly

Wow, someone else remembers Captain Caveman?
Another one might be the very first episode of Doctor Who, An Unearthly Child, although back then, every segment had a new title, so maybe it was the one after that.
@atannir It was the one after that: The Cave of Skulls (tho IMDB shows the pictuture with the An Unearthly Child title).

And here is the entire film
@f00l Thanks! It’s a classic & still used by historians due to it’s accuracy…
@daveinwarsh It’s one of few cases where I really don’t care how period-accurate it is. There were fucking giant dinosaurs battling each other, what else can one ask for in life?
@serpent @DrunkCat is gonna hate me for this but…

@thismyusername …That’s the hweirdest gif I’ve seen in a hwile. And I’ve seen many.
@f00l The effects are sure special. She has a wonderful pair of big, expressive, eyes.
@serpent
Land of the Lost – and NOT the Will Ferrell one. The REAL one.
@katbyter
@thismyusername The Sleestak God… been eons since I’ve seen that one.
@thismyusername Loved that show. Saw the movie The Land That Time Forgot (same basic premise) at the Drive in… triple feature with The Blob and I don’t recall what the other one was.
@baqui63 That episode was written by David Gerrold. He also wrote The Trouble With Tribbles.

@SSteve Nobody knows the tribbles I’ve seen…
Seriously? You guys left out Doctor Who’s The Cave of Skulls?

@baqui63
@thismyusername Yes. Ian and Barbara are two of my favorite companions.
“One Million Years BC” - maaan, what an epic! Loved it as a child. The “2001” opening is also awesome I guess.
Didn’t have 10,000 BC up there? Come on.
Almost forgot the most realistic show of all!
It’s About Time…
@daveinwarsh Oh yeah… forgot about that one. I remember the schoolyard being filled with kids singing… “it’s about time, it’s about space, it’s about time I slapped your face” … and running around smacking each other, lol.
The one at the end of 2001.
@f00l Space fetus is considered by some as the best kind of fetus.
@ELUNO you are correct.
BSG Spoiler Alert
The finale of the reboot Battlestar Gallactica.
No mention of the far side?
@WilhelmScreamer Far Side comics were the best.
@daveinwarsh
I remember once getting lost in the basement of one of the UTD Medical School office buildings (was not a student) and realizing there was at least one Far Side cartoon pasted to every single door, even the janitorial closet doors and stairwell doors.
@WilhelmScreamer Still have several of the books. Love 'em.
@lseeber
@daveinwarsh Yup… we had a “School for the gifted” moment the other day, ironically enough. I was going into a building and pushing the door, didn’t budge, then I pulled the handle… hubby was coming up behind me saying… school for the gifted?

I gotta read the new Flintstones comic book series. Not only is the art fantastic, they also did this cool thing.
