BTW, y’all be careful out there.
Flu season has hit with a vengeance locally. Statewide our cases doubled in the past week or so. I did an 8-hour shift in our ER yesterday which ended up dragging into almost 12.
During that time our 5 bed ER had to facilitate one admission to our hospital and FOUR transfers to other facilities. Due to the surge in patients a lot of hospitals around us are on full diversion. By the end of the 12 hours we had made one transfer 35 miles away, one 100 miles away, one 150 miles away (in a neighboring state) and the last over 200 miles away!! EMS resources are already spread thin, and when we send multiple units out on a 5-6 hour round trip that doesn’t help matters.
Help your hospitals and healthcare system stay functional, DON’T GET THE FLU!
Be careful when in public, wear a mask if you feel sick/are coughing (and stay home, dammit), and for God’s sake wash your hands!
@chienfou 'CHOO! I’m on self-administered quarantine ATM. But I’m out of some groceries for the home. I just finished ordering the cat’s special prescription diet food for delivery. Might be I’ll just get some Walmart delivery for myself.
@chienfou@therealjrn I joined Walmart+ when it was half price, just for this.
I had the flu last year and wouldn’t have had pet food if not for their delivery. Decided to take advantage of the discount this year…just in case.
Walmart+ is pretty awesome @Tadlem43. I’ve ordered sale clothing with “free” shipping. It’s also great for avoiding the crowds for regular shopping, it’s worth the tip for me!
We really need it nowadays.
@Wollyhop
Amen
The main problem with common sense is it’s not very common.

But it’s 66 degrees and sunny…hmm.
@therealjrn
Use a delivery service if you have access, then sit out in the sun for a while. That’s always good for what ails you!

POPSOCKETS! ROAD ROCKETS! SONNY CROCKETT! AWESOME!
@Tadlem43 @therealjrn
Plus, getting gas discounts and free Paramount+ didn’t hurt my feelings either!
@chienfou @therealjrn Truth!
