not to be that guy – <high-pitched> or gal! </high-pitched> – the depth of field problem smartphone cameras have is the opposite of shallow, if there were such a word.
And that I don’t know how to use any camera. Even point-and-shoot is a challenge, tho decades ok I was not entirely embarrassingly with a 'Blad. Have forgotten all.
On the other hand, I always have the phone with me, and it’s so much lighter than the EOS I used to use. For the “facebook quality” photo I take now, a phone camera is good enough. (And I can post it immediately)
I used to take a lot of pix. Actually taught our high school photography class as a sophomore. Back then, that meant loading the camera, dark room development, etc.
Got a lot of relatives getting very old, and they’re all going through photo albums, mailing around prints, commenting on the comments that we wrote on the back 50 years ago. In other words, sort of an analog version of face book.
One thing I immediately noticed is, maybe one pic in 100 was decent, one in 1,000 was good.
It’s like any other form of reminiscing. The world, country, life, etc, everything is measurably and demonstrably better today than it used to be.
We take 10 steps forward, one step back, and we complain about the one step
So often when cell phone video that was shot in portrait mode is shown on television, in lieu of leaving the black pillars on either side, they will “fill-in” that space with blurry, magnified, B&W presentation of the same video. There is probably a name for this effect and I presume it is supposed to be arty, but it looks like crap and just distracts from the portrait video that is already visually lacking.
Their ubiquity.
Aggressively low quality
Don’t have one, don’t know, don’t care.

@PocketBrain That’s the worst one. Nothing like being frustrated with yourself.
Can I pick more than one?
Traditionally, what if I don’t have a phone? I demand my voice to be heard.

AF, low-light and depth of focus are the top three for me.
By the time the phone photo app boots up, the photo opportunity has often passed!
All of the above

Biggest problem I find, is taking pictures in the sun, I can’t see the screen, and since there’s no view finder it’s point & hope.
