Nothing is more important than sleep. And if you’re getting good sleep then coffee is unnecessary. Most people only drink it because they’re addicted anyway.
@kittykat9180 I didnt drink coffee until I was in my 60’s when borderline diabetes cut out my sweet tea. But I have my cup of coffee in the morning for it’s …umm…cleansing effect.
@dyounghbic, I love tea. I drink mine hot and slightly sweetened with honey. As I type this I’m making Moroccan mint. And I’ll dip my Biscoff in it.
maybe I only drink the tea for the cookies.
@kittykat9180 Coffee has never had a stimulating effect for me, either in terms of wakefulness or gastrointestinal pace. I initially liked sugary variations, but now drink small cups after every meal just because I like the taste.
I have friends who get headaches if they skip a day, but I semi-routinely go 2-3 days without with no noticeable issues. And I refuse to drink most office/hotel coffee.
@kittykat9180 I love hot Constant Comment spiced tea in winter but iced sweet tea was my 24/7 drink. I still have a quart a day, down from a gallon. Lol And my last A1c was 5.3!!!
@kittykat9180@zinimusprime It is definitely an aquired taste. I tried it black but just couldn’t. After adding a good amount of milk it got better. Once I discovered flavored creamers it is delicious. I was stuck on Pumpkin Spice but its seasonal. When I found Italian Sweet Cream it was true love!! That first sip in the morning is the best thing of the day.
All of the above with some nocturnal conjugal activity. That is, provided I have not pissed off my wife by doing something stupid.

if i can’t take a nice shower before i have to be somewhere, forget it. i’ve even had annoying stress dreams about it. i have to give myself enough time too, bc the shower in our apartment for the last handful of years has a habit of losing pressure and only offering blazing hot water. i need full pressure to rinse my hair and i take cold showers. i’ve asked the landlord to have a plumber look at it but he always comes up with some asinine excuse. so, i let the water run for a rather long time before i get in. he pays the water bill.
I said good night’s sleep, but I can get away with one day without even that (4-5 hours), likely because I get around 8 every other night.
When my alarm goes off, I wake up and start my day. I’ve never used a snooze button, and have been waking up ~5 minutes before signing into work for six years now, including many days with meetings at the start of my schedule. Of course, my body will be ready for bed a earlier if I didn’t sleep well the night before, but I don’t really find myself struggling during the day.
Coffee
but strong is often a misnomer
Coffee prepared just right
I think A, B, and C are all appropriate.
Proper cuppa tea
Up ‘n at ‘em at the crack of noon.
If I’m feeling ambitious, that is.
Setting the bar low these days, so maybe breathing and able to get vertical
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@ronnyd Happy poop!
Failure to start and failure to even try to start if at all possible
Direct access to the nearest toilet, followed by a hot shower. Sometimes I wonder what’s the difference.
The 8 hours.
Which I increasingly find impossible to get.
Besides a good night sleep, I have to have me time. Whether if to fuck around on my phone or watch a show, just no talking time for me.

@kittykat9180 I legitimately enjoy the taste of coffee. I’m probably addicted, but I’m sure I could stop whenever I wanted to…

@zinimusprime, that’s weird to me. The smell and taste are just awful.

@kittykat9180 @zinimusprime I loved the smell even when I didn’t drink it.
Nothing makes a better start to the day than deciding to do it tomorrow. -zzz- -zzz- -zzz- -zzz-

Some kind of exercise, run, walk or gym. Wakes me up and know i accomplished something already. Followed by a shower and coffee

A good dump, clean out and ready for the day
Waking up is always the best way to start the day.
@TheCO2 Came here to say this! If you fail this part, your prospects for the rest of the day are considerably less promising.
