It depends on the fast food. For chicken nuggets, there are a couple of BBQ sauces I like, but for chicken tenders, I prefer ranch. I don’t dip fries, so “none” there. Egg rolls? Duck sauce (which contains no duck).
Can I bring my own? I can deal with fast food fries if dipped in home made Hollandaise. Though that takes a bit of planning which kind of defeats the whole fast food thing.
@Cerridwyn@Kyeh Gonna be honest, I would try this with an open mind. I have discovered I like my ice cream less sweet and more savory these days, so who knows?
(Now I’m trying to think how I could make blackened ranch ice cream.)
Best ranch I’ve had is at Popeye’s, best horseradishy fix is BK’s zesty sauce on their fries. McDonald’s tartar was great on their McNuggets until they became a pale imitation of their former selves.
A local hole-in-the-wall Philly cheesesteak shop has a wonderful jalapeño mayo sauce. It sounds kinda terrible, but I tried it on a lark, and I’m glad I did.
@blaineg@brainmist I got to spend a couple of weeks in SLC once for a training and I loved the restaurants. We were lucky enough to have a food allowance and the hotel had a good continental breakfast so that left money for going out in the evening.
I used to like chick fil a sauce until I found out it’s like 200 calories for that little tiny packet.
Raising Cane’s sauce is really good.
There’s a local hole in the wall Philly cheesesteak place that has a secret sauce that is awe-some on their sandwiches and fries.
The melting pot gordonzola sauce is great on steaks or sautéed mushrooms. Don’t have a melting pot nearby or don’t want to pay for overpriced cook it yourself food, plenty of copy cat recipes on the internets
@brainmist@ironcheftoni it’s phenomenal on scallops. Yes - cheese on seafood. Pan seared, remove to casserole, deglaze with white wine, add reduced heavy cream, pour over scallops, top with Roquefort and hollandaise and broil until bubbly.
Does salt count?
@sammydog01 You’re just out here dipping in salt?
@ChadP You make it sound wrong.
@ChadP @sammydog01 You can use Lucas where the addition of sour to the salt would be appropriate.
I’ve never seen a thread I’m more invested in…
@mandirose False. Polynesian sauce from Chick-Fil-A is the correct answer.
@ExtraMedium agree to disagree
@ExtraMedium @mandirose have you ever mixed the two? Enjoy that party in your mouth!
@ExtraMedium @mandirose Polynesian sauce is good, I always can’t decide between that and the sweet and spicy siracha
@mandirose I like McDonald’s BBQ from Canada. Is different and very tasty. Although I prefer sweet and sour. I use it for everything at McDonald’s
Malt vinegar.
Burgermaster (Seattle-area chain) offers Ken’s Boom Boom sauce.

@ybmuG I also like my fries in non-ketchup. My two faves? Popeye’s blackened ranch, and LJS’ tartar sauce.
That blackened ranch is so good, I like to snag extras… and then my horrible dog fishes them out of the bag and eats them.
Ranch dressing for the win
@Cerridwyn What do you think of this?

@Kyeh
Hehehe
Hard pass
Now real ranch and chicken strips
@Cerridwyn @Kyeh Gonna be honest, I would try this with an open mind. I have discovered I like my ice cream less sweet and more savory these days, so who knows?

@brainmist @Kyeh
Salty yes. But herby… nah not for me
@brainmist @Cerridwyn
I would taste it … if someone else bought it … just because I’m curious.

Arby’s Sauce is delicious
@canuk Close, but no cigar–> it 's their Horsey Sauce that’s the nuts!!
@PhysAssist hah that brought back memories of my dad. He loved that stuff!
@canuk We have to go and buy classic RB-sammies periodically to re-stock the fridge drawer supply. God bless your da!
@canuk @PhysAssist I haven’t had either of these for way too long, largely because I find Arby’s kinda…meh. Might need to revisit.
@brainmist @PhysAssist Arby’s is meh, but the sauce makes it worth it. Also the apple turnovers are delicious and overpriced.

@blaineg Sounds good to me!
@blaineg @Kyeh OK, everything about this sounds delightful.
@brainmist @Kyeh Well, if you’re in the area:

@brainmist @Kyeh Yes, they are under a billboard.

Chick-fil-A BBQ is my go to.

@ironcheftoni Mmmm, I love gorgonzola on beef or lamb.

Comes with coupon for angioplasty
@ironcheftoni @ybmuG oooooo, may have to try. It’s not like we’ve got retirement to live for…
Nobody has yet mentioned Arctic Circle’s fry sauce?
I don’t know if it’s the best, but it’s a decent classic.
