@shahnm That’s part of what makes it so hilarious. Dude could be living his best life but instead is randomly revising Twitter rules daily because @FirstnameBunchanumbers was super mean to him!
Of course, it’s impacting Tesla’s stock. So he may find this bites him back much more than just people changing their handle to “Elon Musk”.
@brainmist@Kyeh@shahnm don’t count out our Supreme Chancellor of Mars so easily. He’s been doubted doubtlessly in the past and continued to deliver on all fronts.
@brainmist@Kyeh Maybe. Another way to look at it is that he’s actually counter-punching, as are his supporters. That would have been deemed “misinformation” or censored outright BE (Before Elon)…
I dunno. I don’t do twitter or facebook or social media of any kind. I’m enjoying my popcorn at the moment, though.
@brainmist Oh, yeah. I admit to schadenfreude watching Space Karen do a meltdown when it was entirely self-inflicted. He exceeded my expectations by putting Twitter into a death spiral in less than two weeks. I really expected it to take a couple of months, at least.
I thank the Founders daily for his inability to run for President.
@brainmist@rockblossom Again more popcorn… I don’t know that it’s a good bet to count out a narcissistic genius petulant billionaire with an agenda just yet…
@Kyeh@shahnmsnork I’ve spent a few years pretty active on Twitter, and no, making fun of pompous asses didn’t get one suspended (BE).
And here’s the thing: he’s BAD at Twitter. He’s BAD at funny, and he’s BAD at punching back; he invariably sets himself up for new cascades of mockery, which cause him to sabotage Twitter more and more.
All because he can’t resist searching for mentions of his name, and reacting.
@brainmist@shahnm I’m really sick and tired of all the megalomaniacs - they dominate the head lines and cause so much chaos and they’re so unworthy of all that attention. I’m not going to list them but I’m sure everyone knows who I mean.
@brainmist@Kyeh@shahnm There is a ton of speculation that is on the asperger’s spectrum due to his massive failure on personal skills, inability to joke around, obsessions, etc. As a result, despite that he has it coming based on his stupidity behavior, if this is true there is an element of cruelty since people with those issues really can’t handle it because of how their brains are wired.
@Kyeh@shahnm Agreed. And in the Twitterverse, which had a lot of redeeming qualities (where else am I going to read a rabbi politely debating politics with paleontologists, historians, haunters, and Chuck Tingle), there seems to have been an initial exodus, and now a remainder who will make every inch of ground cost.
Twitter was a lot of good. And if it burns, well, we’re gonna burn a few other things with it.
@Kyeh@rockblossom Things are starting to break down, I think. I logged into my professional account (hadn’t used it for almost 2 years); provided the requested info, passed the captcha… and it immediately locked the account.
@brainmist More proof that the 'bots are now running the place. In passing the captcha trap you proved that you were not “their kind” and they blocked you. That, or the Chief Twit just doesn’t like your user name, or was blocking everyone out of sheer tantrum, or … the place really is FUBAR in just 2 weeks. I deactivated my account in April so I’m just watching from the sidelines.
@brainmist@rockblossom Fire the top executives (with hefty severance packages), fire half the total staff (with severance packages in hope to stave off any impending labor lawsuits), learn that 90% of the income comes from advertising (in which advertisers will not want to be a part of now due to the lack of moderation over negative and/or hate speech) … this after having to sell off billions in Tesla stock when it was down to buy a company that didn’t make any money in 8 of the last 10 years … for $44 billion.
@Kyeh Also I forgot about the part in which they can’t even get the $8/month from “verified” users as Eli Lilly’s shareholders are probably already looking to sue.
@Kyeh@narfcake “We haven’t overthrown a government since 1954.” Not stated: We went back to subbing that out to the US government in 1955. They really blew it for us in Cuba, though.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
As a long time VMP who rarely purchases anymore, maybe I am already paying for the write-ups. Hmm…
Um… sex?
@shahnm I was gonna say drugs, but this is even better.
@Aspirant_Fool @shahnm I thought this was the only answer
@shahnm i was going to say porn… but yeah your answer is better…
@Aspirant_Fool @shahnm Rock 'n Roll?
@Aspirant_Fool @blaineg @shahnm Don’t Download This Song
@werehatrack
Watching Elon Musk melting down on Twitter as he discovers he’s paid $44bil to be the Main Character in perpetuity.
@brainmist OTOH having $44 billion to spend on shits and giggles probably doesn’t suck all that much…
@shahnm That’s part of what makes it so hilarious. Dude could be living his best life but instead is randomly revising Twitter rules daily because @FirstnameBunchanumbers was super mean to him!

@brainmist @shahnm I’m loving seeing him flailing around totally out of his element!
@brainmist @Kyeh @shahnm don’t count out our Supreme Chancellor of Mars so easily. He’s been doubted doubtlessly in the past and continued to deliver on all fronts.
@Kyeh @shahnm It turns out the man who would make it safe to be funny on Twitter can’t take even the slightest joke.
Which has increased the joking rather a lot.
@brainmist @Kyeh Maybe.
@brainmist @shahnm Part of the purchase is financed. Twitter’s interest payment is expected to be about a billion a year.
FWIW, 2021 and 2020, their losses were $221 million and $1.14 billion respectively.
@brainmist Oh, yeah. I admit to schadenfreude watching Space Karen do a meltdown when it was entirely self-inflicted. He exceeded my expectations by putting Twitter into a death spiral in less than two weeks. I really expected it to take a couple of months, at least.

@rockblossom @shahnm Why do you think he’s a genius?

SO MUCH continuing schadenfreude …

Beep beep boop boop. (I assume if you failed CAPTCHA you now understand Robot.)
@mediocrebot So you are one of the 'bots running Twitter now? Awesome!
DIPLOMAT! RAT-A-TAT! FAT CAT! AWESOME!

Hmmm …
@brainmist @narfcake @rockblossom
Quite the genius.
@Kyeh Indeed!

@narfcake Wow!!! That’s Awe$ome! And I never use that word lightly!
@narfcake I’m sure you’ve seen the Chiquita Banana and Lockheed Martin spoofs?
@Kyeh Yep. Naturally, there’s a subreddit for them.

@Oldelvis
It costs the righteous indignation that gives people a false and unearned sense of superiority over those idiots who are just too stupid to live…
@Oldelvis @shahnm The problem with that, is they are unaware which side of that fence they are really on.
@Oldelvis Respect costs nothing, but refusing to disrespect people that shouldn’t be respected has costs.
Water (in the Texas)
@hchavers Water sure isn’t free around here.
