@yakkoTDI The GAU-8/A is just the Gatling cannon that the Warthog carries as its main armament. Best damn ground support aircraft we’ve ever had, according to a lot of folks who’ve been in a position to appreciate it.
@werehatrack Oh I know the GAU-8 is just the gun. The plane was built around the GAU-8 as opposed to it being mounted to a plane.
One of the best documentaries I saw about the A-10 had a female pilot being interviewed. Every time she would start talking about flying the plane she would get this gigantic smile on her face. I always wondered if she had a significant other that was lucky enough to get that same smile.
@werehatrack Thanks. I had to look it up; I thought it was a weird file type (one letter too many) or a programming language! It seems pretty funnny, but my stick figures do not have such smoothly shaped heads.
@mehcuda67 Yep. Airplanes, spaceships (Space 1999), cars, sometimes buildings. Now I can read my handwriting and my drawing is only with shapes in applications.
Indy cars in 3d perspective. I got pretty good at that mostly because they were easy being mainly boxy with straight lines.
I also drew impossible 3d objects like the famous Escher-like triangle.
I don’t think anyone knows about this, but I drew it all the time. In fact, I think I invented it.
See, you draw three lines in parallel, then three more under the first set, then connect some of the lines, making this Cool S. Let me show you…
A friend went in for their Medicare Annual Wellness Visit and one of the tests was “draw a cube”. He apparently fell asleep during art class and failed miserably. “Hey, art isn’t my thing.” (Good news, aced the rest of the test!).
He’s going to find a Drawing Coach under his tree this year!
I hated both my 1st grade teacher and English teacher in 6th grade, but they both did have the same fun Mickey Mouse poster that I got really good at drawing. Other than that, stick figures and “fire”.
I remember drawing elaborate pipe and sewer systems winding down the page. Like leading from a toilet would be different passages/rooms with mashers, flame throwers, grinders, storage tanks, and other such things to break down turds and stuff on the way through.
I created ‘flip-art’ comics in some of my textbooks. Mostly short story stuff. I remember one that involved a car that came from the distance, getting bigger until it hit another car coming in from the side. Driver got ejected and an ambulance came from the perspective point, scooped him up and left off the other side of the page. What can I say, I grew up to be an ER nurse. (Also, the book was pretty long… and class was boring)
Conclusions.
@yakkoTDI Omg, i just listed this in a reply on the product page, get outta my head! I’m a-scurred.
Fighter jets. Mostly shaped like an F-16.
@Raptor_007 Not the General Electric GAU-8/A Avenger transport device also known as the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt 2?
@Raptor_007 @yakkoTDI
Even as a kid I was old school:
I liked to draw WW2 fighter planes
@Raptor_007 Piloted by a t-rex?

@werehatrack @yakkoTDI
My younger brother is a retired A-10 pilot.

Cars.
Horses and happy trees
@heartny Happy little trees… </bob_ross>
Mustaches on every face in the textbook
@ebatch No devil horns & pitchforks?
Stick figures-and even now.
@andyw Thanks largely to xkcd, stick figures are respectable now.
@werehatrack Thanks. I had to look it up; I thought it was a weird file type (one letter too many) or a programming language! It seems pretty funnny, but my stick figures do not have such smoothly shaped heads.
@andyw full page stick figure war battles. Sometimes medieval weapons sometimes modern. Bonus if I had a red pen for blood.
Sonic the Hedgehog and Power Rangers
Allowance.
@shahnm
came here to say just that!
Trucks and boats! I feel like we’ve had this poll before…
The 3-dimensional box.
Rockets and cars.
My drawing capabilities really haven’t progressed much further since then.
@mehcuda67 Yep. Airplanes, spaceships (Space 1999), cars, sometimes buildings. Now I can read my handwriting and my drawing is only with shapes in applications.
/image the S that everyone drew
Teach your kids to draw this, then give them 3-d glasses!
Frogs
Indy cars in 3d perspective. I got pretty good at that mostly because they were easy being mainly boxy with straight lines.
I also drew impossible 3d objects like the famous Escher-like triangle.
@tweezak
Standard square house, triangle roof, rectangle door.
I always tried to draw horses, but they usually came out looking more like hippos.
@Pony So, “River Horses”?
I wanted to do cars but never got the hang so I moved over to starships.
Dump trucks.
Demons, skulls, Santa Cruz graphics
Define kid? I’m sure no boys casually drew boobs.
@unksol Eh, I knew one. He wasn’t any less of an asshole when he got older.
@werehatrack lol every boy did it’s jus two Us with some dots. Just like we all did 80085 on our calculators.
Or for the “smart” ones 100000 - 19915
You ever seen the credits of Superbad? I had a problem.
Big drawn-out war battles. Planes bombing, people fighting on large pieces of paper… In school.
Futuristic cars.
An inside straight.
I don’t think anyone knows about this, but I drew it all the time. In fact, I think I invented it.

Stick figures, sometimes wearing hats and holding balloons.
Heads up for you older folks…

@transplant If they were to ask me to, I think I would draw a square and then remind them that they didn’t specify the perspective.
@transplant draw square one. Draw square two up/or down to the left/right. Connect corners.
However how is this a medicare test? I’m not ok with that/doesn’t sound legit
This is not a thing. Scam alert.
@transplant @unksol
Yeah, it’s real - remember “Person, woman, man, camera, TV?”
https://www.nbcnews.com/health/mental-health/trump-cognitive-test-what-montreal-cognitive-assessment-exam-n1234762
@Kyeh @transplant I do hope it’s more thorough.
https://www.medicare.gov/coverage/yearly-wellness-visits
@transplant @unksol I think it’s just a screening test for possible dementia. As you know our former prez claims have aced it.
Arms.

Horses, and ice cream cones. I never got much beyond that—I’ve always been terrible at drawing. I can do a mean three-point perspective, though.
Sidearm.
/showme horse and happy trees style of Bob Ross
@mediocrebot No horse, but Bob looks happy.
Never was very artistic, but I drew these a lot because I thought they were
Videogame and movie characters. learning how to draw the Sonic spin was fun

@chienfou Hah - did you have any idea back then that you wanted to work at an ER?
@Kyeh
Not really…
My friend and I drew girls with ridiculously big eyes and long hair wearing fancy dresses. She could also draw horses but I couldn’t.
