@ChadP@Targaryen Targaryen’s favorite job is his undercover CIA mission of '89 where he had to conceal the kidnapping of 54 world leaders, MK ULTRA them, and release them back into the world.
When I graduated college, I had an unpaid internship. And I needed to pay rent. So I took a job working at an uber fancy country club/golf resort.
Woke up at 4:30am. At work before 6. Worked till 2. Met influential and interesting people everyday. Made a shit ton of cash dollars. Just, lots and lots of cash tips. More money than I had ever made before. It was insane.
But. I also learned a lot about work ethic, teams, working with people from different backgrounds, grinding through shit you don’t want to do, making mistakes and facing consequences (I wrecked a golf cart into a Mercedes). Oh and I played golf every day for a year.
But. I also learned a lot about work ethic, teams, working with people from different backgrounds, grinding through shit you don’t want to do, making mistakes and facing consequences (I wrecked a golf cart into a Mercedes)
I heard that…I think you owe my dad a new car…
J/K heh
There’s no substitute for being out there…flying without a net…
When I was a freshman studying public relations at Auburn University I was hired to be the communication and marketing specialist for the university’s transportation services.
Being that parking is usually the most hated office on any university campus, I got really good at dealing with angry and ugly people. I also did a lot of event planning and graphic design work, which are skills I’ve been able to transfer to my current role.
I loved every second of this job and am so thankful that the director saw so much potential in me as a freshman.
It also helped that I was given a faculty and staff parking pass, so I never struggled to find a parking spot
@dwightschrute HAHAHA the parking permit would have cinched it. In case some folks don’t know parking permits on large campuses like that are definitely worth a lot even though they also oversell faculty/staff ones, although not as badly as student ones. As a grad student I was given a reserved one in a parking garage that was not over sold by a faculty member because I’d spend a month in the summer caring for the family’s animals and house sitting, garden for them, etc. while they’d travel the world. Hated the gardening part but the parking permit was worth it.
@therealjrn ffs dude. What is your deal? Even if she was making shit up how does it impact you that you need to stalk someone on every post? I’m not saying you’re right or you’re wrong but could you be a bigger asshole?
Yer so mixed up and triggered by the M5M…orange man bad right? Yeah, well when we have somebody Looting these forums you just can’t see it.
BTW: My nick “thereal” was adopted YEARS before our ex-president. Check the records man…except you people like to twist the facts. It was like, 20 years ago. I’m not a young pup,
You have an active racoon looting here. What do you do?
@therealjrn you did and I’m not going to dig through all her post. Sure some have seemed eh… But You can make a case or you can’t. If you can’t make one stop being a bully.
Do you really think meh would let a criminal on their forum?
Give it a rest, JRN. You’re the one with the “carefully crafted persona to facilitate your objective” of either stalking or bullying or general slander. Either way, it is an unhealthy obsession, and you should seek help or adjust your meds. Really.
@mike808@therealjrn the profile page only stores the last 30 days. Your free to use Google site search. I’m aware she’s posted Kickstarters before. So what? Is she asking anyone for money? You are coming out of left feild to track down and attack someone on every post that apparently has nothing to do with your stated issue. Cut it out
@therealjrn so just to be clear your only goal is to stalk and harass another user who has not done anything to you. Is not doing anything to you or anyone one else. And you imagine maybe once upon a time got people to give to her gofundme?
@therealjrn that’s not that many and please link the 5 threads where she has them currently going. What’s that? She has none running and you’re just attacking someone for no reason?
So it’s impossible for you to warn new users against something that does not exist and probably never did.
If you have a case you should show the evidence so people don’t donate to her occassal gofundme and she should be stopped and reporteded to the FBI for wire fraud. You have evidence of people she hurt huh. Where are they?
If you don’t which you clearly don’t. You should drop it. It you can’t drop it and in your head the solution is to be a bully you clearly need a timeout or a ban
@therealjrn no. It’s not. That’s not how any court system in the US works. Innocent till proven guilty. You have nothing your willing to share
And if you come into my place slinging shit I would absolutely be justified in throwing you out. Which I would do to anyone launching personal unjustified attacks.
@therealjrn this is not cencorship or opposition views? You. A single person. Are waging a personal war. On another singular person. Because you think they committed a crime that you claim to have evidence of but refuse to report. So have chosen to launch a harassment campaign. No one gives a damn about your politics for this specific issue.
I just dislike that you insist on being awful as a person
@therealjrn@unksol The irony is the last gofundme she posted, she also followed up on with pictures and updates as to the help the victim of the fire had received. jrn - If she posts another and you find something legitimately wrong with it, feel free to respond to it. Otherwise, you ARE breaking forum rules by trolling. Absolutely no one here except maybe your two friends give a flying fuck what you have to say. You’re pathetic, your posts are simply old and obnoxious, and like I said before - this was a much better place without you. All you’ve done since you’ve gone on this little posting spree is irritate everyone and further destroyed any hint of a positive reputation you once had.
It’s really time the moderators and employees here stepped in and put a stop to this once and for all.
@therealjrn@unksol No jrn - it’s the answer to someone (you) breaking forum rules over and over. Maybe you need to take a long, hard look at yourself. Ask yourself the important questions, like: “Why do I waste so much time harassing someone on an internet forum?” “If I’m so right, how come I don’t have more than two people who support my baseless rants?” “If I were any more of an annoying ass, would my wife leave me?” Oh wait…
The one I have now. I’ve been here 13 years. Pay is great, benefits are fantastic (9/80 schedule and 110% match on 401K). I have bosses that respect me and have my back when things get tough.
ER-RN in community hospital… in the community I live in!
Small ER means lots of opportunity to do different stuff and see different things
Small ER means opportunity to really interact with our patients. Sometimes that ‘personal touch’ is the difference in the outcome, or at least the way the family will remember it
Community Hospital means I see the same folks as patients/family members as I see around town. That can be a mixed blessing.
7on/7off 8 hours days. Like being semi-retired for 30 yrs.
An organization I used to work for used the tagline of “Do what you love, love what you do” in recruiting. I’ve always subscribed to that and when you don’t love it anymore it’s time to move on.
I’m a nurse, a Master’s prepared RN. When I was a youngun, I had aspirations that I later found did not fit. I wanted to be a doctor. I didn’t get into regular med school and when armed forces medical college offered, I said no. For years, I wondered if I had made a mistake. I didn’t. Nursing is where I belong.
After doing my time in the hospital, I found home health and never ever locked back. I’m a director now. And with my current employer getting out of the home health business, I thought I’d change what I did at nearly 66. (No, retiring is not an option, I can afford it financially, but just no). And after someone asked me if I wanted a job that required me to move 250 miles from where I have lived all my adult life to do just what I do now, I felt both scared and thrilled and as I have thought about it more thrilled. And I hope that comes to fruition.
Because I do do what I love and I do love what I do.
For several years in the '80s, I was the parts manager for a VW dealer. I was pretty good at it, and I was also a VW enthusiast at the time. I even won some awards. But the whole thing turned very sour one morning (literally) and I have never gone back to that make. I haven’t owned a VW of any type for a very long time now, and in retrospect, they really were crap by modern standards. (Most of the old cars were, for that matter.)
I’ve changed my career several times and liked each of them. First one was in outdoor adventure. Got to see part of the world that way (worked in several countries) and do a lot of fun things. Then it was tall ships long enough to get several USCG licenses. Then back to school and college teaching.
For a brief time I earned money (recitals, vacation substituting, etc.) playing the carillon in 3 countries. In the USA you have to be very, very good (while I was good I wasn’t that good) to make a living doing that as these aren’t generally city (government) jobs like in The Netherlands or Belgium (the two countries with the most carillons, one in practically every city). Or be an organist as well so you had both jobs (church organist and carillonneur) as carillonneur is often a part time gig - I don’t play the organ - so this wasn’t practical. I really like that instrument though and still play when I am home (none in the state I live in).
I agree with the others that if you have a choice doing what you love is really rewarding. That being said I have had some jobs I absolutely hated because at times it is what it is and you do what you need to do.
It’s a toss up between what I am doing now and working on the line/ patisserie in a restaurant. I miss that pretty terribly at times. It can be stressful but it’s so much fun and making plates of edible artwork is my jam.
Being a baby wrangler at a commune back in the 70’s. I took care of 11 kids, ages 4 months to 7 years, and I loved it. I was also a Brownie Leader at the same time.
I think probably my favorite jobs were when I worked in outdoor adventure in the USA and several countries. I got to see beautiful parts of the world and travel to places that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford to. I also was in the best shape of my life due to my job. Finally bailed as the pay was really low, but it was a lot of fun.
I worked in a bakery for a short time between jobs. Mostly manned the Italian espresso machine. I loved making coffee and chatting with the customers. The smell of baking bread and pastries, mixed with coffee, vanilla, cinnamon… I had a smile on the whole day. And I felt like a total boss making coffees on that monster machine.
My favorite job was as a mate on a 65’ fishing head boat out of the Indian River inlet in DE. It was a summer job in college, and it was so much fun. I fished with my parents growing up, so I knew the basics of cutting bait, setting up rods, landing the fish (mostly flounder or small Bluefish), and removing the fish from hooks. It used to crack me up when guys were afraid to touch the squid to bait their own hooks, or take their fish off the hook. Some had a hard time with a 19 year old girl doing it for them, but I loved helping everyone enjoy their fishing trip. It was a wonderful experience and I met so many people from all over the country (and the world).
One day in particular stands out in my memory. It was a beautiful day, but the ocean had big, but gentle, swells. A sign was posted to take Dramamine or reschedule because seasickness was likely if you weren’t used to rocking boats. A group of 4 guys got on and swore that it wouldn’t affect them. They were jerks and really condescending and rude to me and the other mate. So when the first guy started throwing up, followed by his buddies, she and I held in our joy. They were super pissed that the captain wouldn’t take them back inland, but it was a 4 hour charter with lots of other paying folks, and not many were sick (because they actually listened and took the Dramamine). They had been warned beforehand, and it was not an emergency, so we stayed offshore.
When the captain came down to talk to them, (while they were hanging their heads over the front of the boat chumming ) he imparted these words of sailor wisdom nice and loud, so everyone around could hear. He said “Let me tell you a short story about being seasick: The first hour of being sick, you think you’re going to die, but you know you won’t. By the second hour, you know you won’t die, but you wish you would”.
They, of course, were not amused by his story…but I sure was! And I repeat it every time someone talks about being seasick. Best job ever!
I have had two jobs that made me look forward to Mondays. First was Floral Designer where I was surrounded by thousands of beautiful, fragrant blooms every day. I loved turning them into something even more beautiful. Next was 24 years as Advertising Account Executive for my local newspaper. I loved my co-workers who are still my family, my publisher, most of all, my clients. I wasn’t tied to a desk, I made good money, loved the creativity involved, had private office and cell numbers of most community leaders, CEOS, business owners, was able to help make my community better by volunteering, became well respected and known by my first name only. I’m sorry it sounds like bragging but in order to explain how much I loved this job I had to explain why. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
This one.
Mostly because I really enjoy the people I work with.
I can’t really define it in a sentence, but I’m doing it right now, so there’s that.
When the boss asks “what was your favorite job”…
@Targaryen I mean. This isn’t my favorite job. I wouldn’t worry too much.
@ChadP @Targaryen Targaryen’s favorite job is his undercover CIA mission of '89 where he had to conceal the kidnapping of 54 world leaders, MK ULTRA them, and release them back into the world.
@ChadP @halfling @Targaryen idk why but i skipped over world leaders and just assumed dolphins.
@ChadP In actuality, this has been my favorite job by and large. I can’t resist making the obvious joke.
@Halfling @riskybryzness The dolphins are the real world leaders. But I’ve already said too much.
When I graduated college, I had an unpaid internship. And I needed to pay rent. So I took a job working at an uber fancy country club/golf resort.

I wouldn’t trade it for nothing.
When I was a freshman studying public relations at Auburn University I was hired to be the communication and marketing specialist for the university’s transportation services.

Auburn…as in War DAMN Eagle ??
@dwightschrute HAHAHA the parking permit would have cinched it. @dwightschrute @Kidsandliz
Do you {believe in magic?}
{Loch Ness Monster}
@therealjrn ffs dude. What is your deal? Even if she was making shit up how does it impact you that you need to stalk someone on every post? I’m not saying you’re right or you’re wrong but could you be a bigger asshole?
@unksol
Yes. Yes sir challenge accepted.
Please let me interject that KaL has been “working” these forums for a long time…A very long time actually.
I just know stuff…and I’m here in a bathrobe trying to warn folks off of giving her any money.
It’s a public service. I don’t expect any compensation.
@therealjrn if you were correct and you had evidence
A. Let’s see it. State your case and then let it go like normal person.
B. Report it. That’s probably at least wire fraud to the FBI.
It you can’t do either of those idk
It you’re just pretending to be a disabled pillow seller well done but don’t pick on one person
@unksol Oh my dude.
@therealjrn no one brought up trump. It you have a case state it like an adult. You might have one. Do it. Be done. Stop being an asshole.
If you don’t just stop being an asshole.
I get rid of the bad actor. I.e. you
You’re only hurting yourself
@unksol
And I didn’t. You just did.
Look at her posts…of course it’s difficult with the obscuration and what-not.
:sigh:
She has a steady pattern of begging in a social manner.
I’m not going to go into it, but I have demonstrably evidence she’s been doing across multiple platforms.
Should she go to jail? Of course not!
But she needs to leave this fertile ground for new suckers.
@therealjrn you did and I’m not going to dig through all her post. Sure some have seemed eh… But You can make a case or you can’t. If you can’t make one stop being a bully.
Do you really think meh would let a criminal on their forum?
@unksol
Yes sir, and they have…she’s constructed a carefully crafted persona to facilitate her objectives.
Look at the tapes…oh…we can’t…because she hides behind that privacy mode.
Get her to release the records!
Come on Kal, Open up your profile.
Give it a rest, JRN. You’re the one with the “carefully crafted persona to facilitate your objective” of either stalking or bullying or general slander. Either way, it is an unhealthy obsession, and you should seek help or adjust your meds. Really.
@mike808
:blushing:
I’m not going to give it up.
Love is lit y’all.
Ask Liz to open her profile. What is she hiding from?
@mike808 @therealjrn the profile page only stores the last 30 days. Your free to use Google site search. I’m aware she’s posted Kickstarters before. So what? Is she asking anyone for money? You are coming out of left feild to track down and attack someone on every post that apparently has nothing to do with your stated issue. Cut it out
@mike808 @unksol
Naw…thanks anyway.
I’m on a mission now. I was sent here by God. Who are you to deny God?
@mike808 @unksol
OK…I feel I’m not reaching you…may I express myself in video form?
Boring is always best, right?
therealjrn,
Please stay out of the pool here until your sickness heals.
@therealjrn so just to be clear your only goal is to stalk and harass another user who has not done anything to you. Is not doing anything to you or anyone one else. And you imagine maybe once upon a time got people to give to her gofundme?
@unksol Um…no.
She has harmed others that I know of personally.
But I’m not here for that…
I’m here on direct orders to warn the newbies…the new folks from sending her any money. How much money & goods have YOU sent her @unksol?
Sorry…you have been donating to a black hole. That hole will never be satiated.
I understand, your world is a little topsy-turvy right now.
I know, it’s tough…it’s OK, you’re amongst friends.
Love is lit .com
@unksol
MULTIPLE gofundme’s. She had like at least 4, maybe 5 going on…
Love is lit
@therealjrn that’s not that many and please link the 5 threads where she has them currently going. What’s that? She has none running and you’re just attacking someone for no reason?
So it’s impossible for you to warn new users against something that does not exist and probably never did.
Knock it off.
@unksol
naw…the posts were already posted before. Why are you so invested in protecting the KaL scams?
I know, you hate to think your money has been going to a scammer, but isn’t it better you find out now about it?
@unksol
:snicker:
@therealjrn no one is protecting her.
@unksol
THERE IT IS.
Cancel culture at your door folks…
I have a valid case, of course my sources are “protected” and private…
It’s up to KaL to prove me wrong.
@therealjrn no. It’s not. That’s not how any court system in the US works. Innocent till proven guilty. You have nothing your willing to share
And if you come into my place slinging shit I would absolutely be justified in throwing you out. Which I would do to anyone launching personal unjustified attacks.
@unksol
My dude…
This is “our” place. And you are outrageously recommending censorship and silencing opposition views.
What happened to you man? Where did you veer off the path to go to McCarthyism?
@therealjrn this is not cencorship or opposition views? You. A single person. Are waging a personal war. On another singular person. Because you think they committed a crime that you claim to have evidence of but refuse to report. So have chosen to launch a harassment campaign. No one gives a damn about your politics for this specific issue.
I just dislike that you insist on being awful as a person
@unksol
Hmm interesting response. Why do you think this has ANYTHING to do with politics?
It has to do with an active raccoon looting and stealing things. I’ll release my files when KaL releases her profile.
But that won’t happen.
I leave you free to continue your McCarthyism and censorship.
Happy 4th!
God Bless America
@therealjrn cause you keep going that way while I try to avoid it. And wtf on the 4th of July
@unksol
YES!
You have no idea how appropriate this topic is for today do you?
I’ll let you have the last word. I need to go eat.
@therealjrn @unksol The irony is the last gofundme she posted, she also followed up on with pictures and updates as to the help the victim of the fire had received. jrn - If she posts another and you find something legitimately wrong with it, feel free to respond to it. It’s really time the moderators and employees here stepped in and put a stop to this once and for all.
@cinoclav @unksol
So your answer to irritating posts and opposition is to block and censor?
What happened to you man? Where did you get so bent?
Think about it.
@therealjrn @unksol No jrn - it’s the answer to someone (you) breaking forum rules over and over.
@cinoclav @unksol
:snort:
Look at the records. And ask yourself why you think censorship is the answer.
It’s all well and good…until they come for you.
Ok I think we’ve gone far enough with this one.
This one. Y’all let me do cool shit and teach me things.
The one I have now. I’ve been here 13 years. Pay is great, benefits are fantastic (9/80 schedule and 110% match on 401K). I have bosses that respect me and have my back when things get tough.

@Cerridwyn you are a special . Nursing is a calling, not a job.
My job now. Every day is different, and I get paid to learn new skills. I’m making the most I have at any job, and I also make my own hours/days off.
