Winters are mild, summers are glorious, springs aren't bad. Fall will absolutely make you feel as if you are growing moss on your feet. So much rain and gray skies.
@JonT that kind of sounds like Vermont. But well not really the 100 but if it were to have 100 degree weather yeah.
There is a saying about Vermont/New England. Don't like the weather wait 5 mins. It can go from pouring to sleeting or nothing to downpour and back in 5 mins. I was once at an event at my high school where half of the track had rain and the other half had sun. It was very bizarre.
It's those quaint summer breezes that we have. In fact we enjoy so much we name them. Andrew, Ivan, Katrina... Joy, joy; hurricane season starts next Monday. (June 1st)
@cinoclav Let's try this again... @cinoclav Ready? Its in chronological order not alphabetical order. Hurricane Andrew 1992. In NOLA on my honeymoon. Had to cut it short and bug out. Hurricane Ivan 2004. Direct hit. The eye passed over my house. Hurricane Katrina 2005. Direct hit on NOLA but tore up LA, MS, AL, & FL. Fed disaster area stopped at the AL/FL border; about 4 miles from my house. (You're gonna love this one) Hurricane Joy 2044. It's on the internet so it's gotta be true! Look it up!
@cinoclav I did. But when I found hurricane Joy I had to lead into it with the other stuff. I admit I had no idea it existed until you said something. Couldn't resist being a bit snarky 'cause how often does one fall face first into a logical progression?
@Mehrocco_Mole Please, as someone who lives way too close to you, move to North Dakota, or Arizona, or someplace where you won't attract the storms. Or turn off whatever you're using as a homing beacon.
Summer was worst when I lived in Davis. It was so unbearably hot. Summer was also worst when I grew up in South San Francisco. It was so unbearably foggy and cold. Now that I live in the Sierra Foothills, all the seasons are great.
Puget Sound area, most of the time things are pretty good, no extremes. Except for the dog days of summer. The temperatures aren't terribly bad, but the humidity makes them feel like they totally are.
@jsh139 The crazy thing is, areas like San Antonio and San Francisco get far more rain than we do (also in the Puget Sound). But the constant gray skies have people thinking it rains more often here. That's why I went with fall as the worst here.
@jaremelz Yep, we in Philly get more rain in quantity than you guys, too. It's a misnomer that it rains "all the time" out there. In fact, I remember several years of drought in the summer for Seattle. One time I went out there it had been like 102 days since it rained.
@brumagem - Totally agree (also Puget Sound). My favorite is overcast high 50s to low 60s. The rare humid hot days are the worst, but still better than most places in the U.S.
Northern Minnesota. It's winter wasteland, or it's bug season. Mosquitos are bad, but the biting flies are the real problem. And don't get me started on army worms. So bad, we brought in Asian beetles to fight them off. That failed. Now we have things that look like ladybugs, but can take a chunk out of your skin.
South Florida: summer is brutal, 90+ every day, 80+ humidity, and those wind and rain storms called hurricanes. The other two months of the year aren't too bad, we call it tourist season.
Grew up in Georgia with the 102°F summers. Old GM wagons with vinyl seats and lava hot buckles, had to put a towel down to actually sit in the seat. AC broke in my apartment, couldn't sleep because it was still humid 80°F with the windows open at night. Now live in Boston with nice summers and looooooong winters. I do miss the summer rainstorms though.
Philly area weather sucks. 90+ degree with 90% RH summers and below freezing snowy winters with shit roads and asshole drivers. We do get about a week of Fall and Spring weather in between though. Of course, it's usually raining during that time.
I Live in Buffalo and not it does NOT snow year round. Winters suck (but at least I know how to drive in it.) Today will be up to 80 degrees out. Will be warmer and warmer this summer. We have a great fall with leaf changes. Upside to living here too is I can go outside to do things without sitting in my house with the AC all day (then it would be similar to winter)
Hm, hard to judge. On one hand here in southern Missouri we have hot, humid summertime. On the other we have cold winters that typically will cover everything in ice every so often. Dunno which is worse.
At least there's at least a month between summer and winter that are glorious temperature wise. =)
Winters are mild, summers are glorious, springs aren't bad. Fall will absolutely make you feel as if you are growing moss on your feet. So much rain and gray skies.
@jaremelz I love moss. And gray skies and rain. But seriously, I could just stare at moss and pet it and lay on it all day.
Where I used to live: Always great, more often than not 70 and sunny, what even are seasons?
Now: Snow and ice on Monday, crazy thunderstorms and rain on Thursday, 100 degrees on Sunday
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@JonT Sounds like you were in Hawaii. But with the weather the way it is in Texas right now you might be back to the "islands" soon.

@JonT The May grey has been horrible this year. Really, super thick marine layer. Bleh.

@Mehrocco_Mole They go alphabetically, Joy comes before Katrina. ;)
@cinoclav Ready? Hurricane Andrew 1992

@Mehrocco_Mole Guess you didn't pick up on my sarcasm. (Usually the winky face gives it away.)
@cinoclav I did. But when I found hurricane Joy I had to lead into it with the other stuff. I admit I had no idea it existed until you said something. Couldn't resist being a bit snarky 'cause how often does one fall face first into a logical progression?
@cinoclav is there a face for sarcastic snarkiness?

@brumagem Really? The 8 months of off and on rainy drizzle between October and May isn't bad??? :)

@jsh139 We are heading towards a drought this year as well. While everyone else was under 6 ft of snow this winter, we barely even saw a drop of rain.
@jaremelz Crazy.

Spring, but not so much muddy, as floody and sometimes tornadoee. Tornadoy? Whatever. There's wind and it breaks all your shit.
@nogoodwithnames Tornadoey.
@nogoodwithnames @PocketBrain Tornado! Eeeeeeeeeee!
From way too hot and wet to just bleak, with about a 2-week interim of pleasant weather and runaway insect populations in-between.
We've got two seasons, Winter and Construction.
@mcanavino Cincinnati?
@deichernc God no. I said Construction, not un-ending Hell. :) . Chicago.
South Florida: summer is brutal, 90+ every day, 80+ humidity, and those wind and rain storms called hurricanes. The other two months of the year aren't too bad, we call it tourist season.

@cinoclav Ya blinked too slow.

We've had a nice day this year.
@Barney Purple skies?
@SSteve That would be wonderful!
When I lived in Northern Michigan I would have said winter. But that's too obvious an answer considering that was the only season we had.
Hm, hard to judge. On one hand here in southern Missouri we have hot, humid summertime. On the other we have cold winters that typically will cover everything in ice every so often. Dunno which is worse.
