Still trying to justify spending that much on it though.
There are a few other things (read: 5) on Amazon which I want, of which 2 of them could be instead of that blanket.
Although since an eBay coupon I got can’t be used to buy an eBay gift card, I might get those 2 items on eBay instead, in which case, I could find a justification to buy the blanket.
Of course though, there’s a book which I really want to get, and I can only really find it on Amazon…
I have a lightweight duvet over a regular set of sheets. That’s my normal summer setup (with the ceiling fan on and no pajamas for thermal management), but this past winter was so mild I never had to add the electric blanket to the mix.
I start out with just a sheet, with a light blanket pushed to the side. At some point in the wee hours I get cold and pull on the blanket for a couple of hours, then kick it off again a while later. It’s the best time of year, hot during the day and cool at night. Soon it will be too warm at night to want the blanket.
We have a poly-fill comforter that is our primary cover. We have a fitted sheet AND a non-fitted sheet over the mattress, but for some reason the wife wants to lie on top of the sheet. I don’t care for this because the comforter isn’t as soft/smooth as the sheet, but I guess she gets too hot. So she should just use the sheet, right?..apparently not. If I try to get under the sheet while she doesn’t, it results in a tangled mess of sheets that she kicks to the foot of the bed while I’m trying to cover myself with it. I should probably buy a twin sheet for myself to put between the comforter and my discerning skin.
Light cotton sheets spring through fall, light flannel sheets in winter. Light thermal blanket on top of that. And a pair of tied-together woobies (US Poncho liners) on top of all. I’m still amazed she allows a tied-up camo bed covering but the woobies are near magical in keeping you warm with almost no weight; they reflect the warmth back.
If it was just me I’d use a wool blanket on top of the sheet. I’ve got some beautiful heavy surplus all wool blankets (Swedish officer’s, which is about twin size, and some big German and Italian ones bought cheap when they were common). The woobie works well but I like the weight of the blanket. But my wife would get too warm.
I just picked up a Beautyrest mattress which is just under $1k for a king size and pretty well rated. It’s a latex over pocket coil design and they can customize the bed based on a survey you take. It also can come as a split design if you and your SO have different needs - which is nice.
I should have it this week and probably will have it set up in the next week or so and will report back then.
A sheeeet.
A quilt - comforters/duvets are too warm for Texas!
I am sprawled. So are the electronics and the comforters.

Heated.mattress.pad. It’s a game changer.
@PSUClaus1 My wife says that the one we have is the best birthday present she ever received.
My wife and I sleep with separate blankets, as we both steal the blanket in the night.
My wife uses a quilt that was made by her great-grandmother, using quilt blocks from her great-great-grandmother for our wedding.
I use an old comforter that I have had since I was 18.

I’m not sure if I use the cat for supplemental warmth, or if the cat uses me for supplemental warmth.
@PocketBrain Both. Their body temperature is higher than in humans, so you’re at least warmer than the surrounding air and the cat is warmer than you.
(Why do I know this even though I don’t have a cat?)
Regular set of sheets, and a handmade quilt my mom made.
Once it gets warmer, the quilt may come off and just a sheet and the fan.

Still needs some work.
@rockblossom they just need to plant different colored plants to make it look like a blanket pattern.

Cotton sheets with a lightweight comforter that is microsuede on the top. So soft. Wish I could find another like it.

After our last fight, I’m bedding alone.
@Barney
Fitted sheet flat sheet electric banker and a heavy comforter that I rarely use but it does get cold up here in New Hampshire.

Cotton sheets with a light blanket in the summer. Ceiling fan on high with a portable a/c unit set at 64 degrees. I think I am half penguin lol
