I’m honestly surprised I’ve let it slide for this long, considering I usually rip the packaging off inflatable stuff before it’s barely inside the front door. (Though Fenris has been keeping me company, as usual.)
@PooltoyWolf that reminds me, I have this too and did not get it out for the pool this year. So mine’s in the box too, with some other pool gear in the utility room storage area.

Well, if we’re counting fuko/fuku/IRKs, then up until last week it was a Ninja 4-in-1 blending system that I got during meh’s 4th birthday spectacular, BUT: the food processor died the week before last, and my mother was like, WE HAVE TO GO OUT AND BUY A FOOD PROCESSOR, and I was like, NO, I GOT ONE TWO AND A HALF YEARS AGO IN A FUKO, I DON’T KNOW IF IT WORKS OR IF IT’S ACTUALLY LIKE A FOOD PROCESSOR, BUT WE SHOULD CHECK IT OUT BEFORE WE BUY ONE. I DON’T KNOW WHERE IT IS. It was in the basement! In plain sight, but no one could find it, because we were all so used to it being there, and also there was some paper on top that in no way obscured what it was. And it works OK, mostly! We’ll still probably buy a food processor, but not until after we move. Unless something crazy happens.
Anyway, it probably shouldn’t count, because although it was big and expensive, meh paid for it, not me. I’d probably go with the cumulative cost and bulk of the many, many meh t-shirts I have bought and still not worn.
The only thing I haven’t opened is the chefman pressure cooker.
By the way all you stroopwafel naysayers…I gave a bunch away as gifts and every single person I gave them to LOVE them!

@AuntMean67@enville@Kidsandliz They don’t really expire - mainly because they get eaten so fast, but also they’re probably going to be fine for several months after the sell-by date. They might lose a little flavor but I doubt that they’ll actually go stale.

@Alderuen I bought a bigger Food Saver, too, a V2320 or something like that, and I like it a lot better than my older, smaller one.
It’s got a holder and cutter for rolls, which is nice when I used custom bags, although I usually use cheap premade ones.
It has storage for that tube, so I’ll know where to find out if I every use those jar sealers I bought.
The big improvement is that I haven’t misaligned a bag since I got it. It’s got a door that holds the bag in place while I close the handle. Maybe I just got better at it, but I had to concentrate to get the lip on the bag in the right place with the old one.
@craigthom for us right now the small one is easy enough to store in the pantry, and use on our small countertop. We’ll get to the bigger one soon though - since writing this in December, the small one hasn’t been vacuuming without “encouragement”. I’m sure it’s on borrowed time.
Robotic vacuum and Onkyo home theatre receiver, both received in Fukos/IRKs. The vacuum was my dream prize and I was so thrilled to get it, but alas my apartment is really too small to need one. I don’t have a TV so the receiver isn’t terribly useful.
I would have to say it’s the combined space from the unopened IRKs. Too much mess at my house right now to introduce more mess, hence they’ve been stacked aside.
The only thing I haven’t used was I bought a 2 pack of a popcorn popper. The big pots with the lid and the handle to stir the popcorn. I’ve used 1 of the 2. So the spare one is still in the box. I think it was like $20 for 2. At the time I thought it would end up being gifted. But it sits on a shelf in the basement. I pretty much use what I buy. Now there are some unused/unopened irk/fuku items floating around.
I don’t have anything that I’m not using. I just moved so I donated all the junk and sold all the worth wild stuff to an auction place, threw the broken robot vacuum away (yes I know what a trash can is). I take that back I have a couple of pineapple floats in the basement bc it’s winter but those will get used in the summer. I’m trying not to hoard junk I don’t need anymore, we’ll see how long that last for.
I’ve done nearly all of my shopping online for over two years, but I have become really bad about not opening stuff I don’t need to use immediately. Here are some Mediocre highlights.
Biggest: “The Big One” Down Alternative Comforter, Twin. I ordered this because I was expecting to have someone sleeping on one of my couches for a while, but that didn’t happen. Since then a twin sheet set arrived in an IRK, so I have all I need to outfit a twin bed I don’t own. Maybe my daughter will want it when her oldest son has outgrown whatever action hero bedding he now has.
Most Expensive: Sharper Image RC Humanoid OP One Robot, $39 (actually from MorningSave but was offered on meh just before my purchase). Intended for my youngest grandson, this is still in my possession since we still have not celebrated Christmas due to the Plague.
Oldest Totally Unopened, Not Even the Shipping Mailer: TrackR Pixel 10-Pack from November 2019. The batteries were probably dead when they arrived; almost certainly now.
Oldest Opened to Look at But Totally Unused: Dr. Cool Chill Sport Cooling Towels from October 2019. My very first meh order.
Most embarrassing: Meh 2020 Holiday Exchange box. I keep forgetting that nestled among all those unopened packages with known contents is a box of unknown good/badness. As telling someone you are going to do something is a powerful self-motivational tool, I herby declare I will open the box within 24 hours.
Robotic vacuum as well, but only because I won one in an IRK within a month of receiving my purchase. I preferred the one from the Irk (different brand) so my purchase collects dust
@tinamarie1974 Actually I also won one in a IRK that was used and had other stuff inside the box so I had to open it to get the other crap out, but both are unused by me. Might try it one day to see how good it cleans up after Walter.
@tinamarie1974 That is all we need-Walter joy riding around the house on a robotic vacuum. We are dealing with other issues with Walter. All of a sudden he has started barking like a dog. Strange because he has not been around a dog lately so we have no idea where that came from.

They are also a shelter for homeless dogs and have dogs running around the office where Walter’s cage is kept. Its possible as sometimes he blurts out words he hasn’t said for a long time.

(grin) The bird at the shelter (before he finally got a home with one of the workers) had quite the colorful vocabulary. Umm yeah. @Barc777 ‘IRK’, besides being the name of the pudgy site mascot, is an acronym that stands for Instant Regret Kit. These are $5 boxes offered up on Meh at random times, that contain random items, of random value. They almost always sell out instantaneously, despite very often containing valueless crap. (Though my last one had a brand new robot vacuum inside!) ‘Fuko’ or ‘Fuku’ is short for ‘Fukobukuro’, the old name for what is now the IRK.

Jeeze I have more than i’d care to admit but thankfully nothing with any kind of big price value. I still have one unopened lazy phone/tablet holder, the kind that hangs around your neck. It’s a extra replacement (the 3rd one) for when the 2nd replacement one that i’m NOW using breaks. I kinda freaked last month when mine broke (AGAIN) and I didn’t have a extra. Since I named it one of the BEST things ever, I sure as heck don’t want to be left without it ever again! I have a bum hand so it’s a real lifesaver! The next item still unopened is ANOTHER hands free phone/tablet holding device, only because it was a 2-pack though. It’s that double C looking thing that can attach just about anywhere, your leg, couch, car headrest and it works pretty good too! (I swear I DON’T work for meh and i’m NOT paid to say this stuff!) Another 2-pack of items that I still have one unopened is that Xmas/Halloween movie thing that projects video onto the window. Gave one as a gift. I also have a sapphire necklace that WAS going to be a gift until Xmas was cancelled. Omg, I just realized that it was sposta be my 1 MOST EXPENSIVE item bought, NOT every single thing that I wasted my money on. So even though there’s still more i’ll stop here, sorry bout that, I got carried away as usual!

Biggest would be an air fryer, again in an irk. Never opened it up except to make sure it wasn’t used with food still in it. Most expensive would be a sonicare toothbrush, but I bought it as a backup and I haven’t need it yet. I did take one of the brusheads out.

@unksol I’ve never been big into Halloween, and therefore don’t have ready access to a hoard of costumed children. And I’m pretty sure it’s at least two years late for that now. (Possibly… 15 years? That feels right.)
It would have been a little bit awkward trying to explain to sibling-type relations why I was trying to unload this mass of bearings-and-plastic objects, which had fallen into my lap, through no fault of my own, onto their kids, who already have a lot of plastic and bearings.
At least it is not a large box. Err. Two boxes, I’m afraid.

Many were happy to have something to fiddle with while I did paperwork. A coworker from a different location saw one sitting on the desk and played with it while waiting for a delivery. He was over the moon when I told him to keep it! Halloween is not an option at my house since we have not gotten a single kid since we moved in a few years ago.

Most embarrassing: Meh 2020 Holiday Exchange box. I keep forgetting that nestled among all those unopened packages with known contents is a box of unknown good/badness. As telling someone you are going to do something is a powerful self-motivational tool, I herby declare I will open the box within 24 hours.

Robotic vacuum as well, but only because I won one in an IRK within a month of receiving my purchase. I preferred the one from the Irk (different brand) so my purchase collects dust

@tinamarie1974 Actually I also won one in a IRK that was used and had other stuff inside the box so I had to open it to get the other crap out, but both are unused by me. Might try it one day to see how good it cleans up after Walter.

@tinamarie1974 That is all we need-Walter joy riding around the house on a robotic vacuum. We are dealing with other issues with Walter. All of a sudden he has started barking like a dog. Strange because he has not been around a dog lately so we have no idea where that came from.

@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974 My wife thinks he picked it up at the pet motel where he has stayed at more than 30 times when we travel. They are also a shelter for homeless dogs and have dogs running around the office where Walter’s cage is kept. Its possible as sometimes he blurts out words he hasn’t said for a long time.
@Felton10 @tinamarie1974 Well if he blurts out new words you know you don’t use in your house then you know where he got them. (grin) The bird at the shelter (before he finally got a home with one of the workers) had quite the colorful vocabulary. Umm yeah. He came with some of it, but we know he got the rest from the director as his cage was by the door of her office. Of course denials ran rampant.

@stinks nope, re-read my post. I PURCHASED a robot vacuum and then got one I prefer shortly after in an IRK. So I have one I use ($5) and one in a box(much more than $5)

@Barc777 ‘IRK’, besides being the name of the pudgy site mascot, is an acronym that stands for Instant Regret Kit. These are $5 boxes offered up on Meh at random times, that contain random items, of random value. They almost always sell out instantaneously, despite very often containing valueless crap. (Though my last one had a brand new robot vacuum inside!) ‘Fuko’ or ‘Fuku’ is short for ‘Fukobukuro’, the old name for what is now the IRK.

Jeeze I have more than i’d care to admit but thankfully nothing with any kind of big price value. I still have one unopened lazy phone/tablet holder, the kind that hangs around your neck. It’s a extra replacement (the 3rd one) for when the 2nd replacement one that i’m NOW using breaks. I kinda freaked last month when mine broke (AGAIN) and I didn’t have a extra. Since I named it one of the BEST things ever, I sure as heck don’t want to be left without it ever again! I have a bum hand so it’s a real lifesaver! The next item still unopened is ANOTHER hands free phone/tablet holding device, only because it was a 2-pack though. It’s that double C looking thing that can attach just about anywhere, your leg, couch, car headrest and it works pretty good too! (I swear I DON’T work for meh and i’m NOT paid to say this stuff!) Another 2-pack of items that I still have one unopened is that Xmas/Halloween movie thing that projects video onto the window. Gave one as a gift. I also have a sapphire necklace that WAS going to be a gift until Xmas was cancelled.
Omg, I just realized that it was sposta be my 1 MOST EXPENSIVE item bought, NOT every single thing that I wasted my money on. So even though there’s still more i’ll stop here, sorry bout that, I got carried away as usual!

@mossygreen I love that skit and have since I first saw it in the…what…1970s? It is so spot on when I used to listen to my elders tell tales of how hardship. So naturally, I use some of that same sentiment whenever I get the chance. Hence, the “Aye, y’ere lucky!” bit. I stopped short however of the tag line “…and if you tell that to the young people today, they won’t believe you…” I’m glad to see at least one person got the joke.

Biggest would be an air fryer, again in an irk. Never opened it up except to make sure it wasn’t used with food still in it. Most expensive would be a sonicare toothbrush, but I bought it as a backup and I haven’t need it yet. I did take one of the brusheads out.
Probably that box of fidget spinners. Don’t know what was going through my mind… some glee at the sheer absurdity. Maybe I thought I could fidget in bulk.

@unksol I’ve never been big into Halloween, and therefore don’t have ready access to a hoard of costumed children. And I’m pretty sure it’s at least two years late for that now. (Possibly… 15 years? That feels right.)
It would have been a little bit awkward trying to explain to sibling-type relations why I was trying to unload this mass of bearings-and-plastic objects, which had fallen into my lap, through no fault of my own, onto their kids, who already have a lot of plastic and bearings.
At least it is not a large box. Err. Two boxes, I’m afraid.
@InnocuousFarmer @unksol I still have more than I wish to admit of the spinners. I was giving them to bored kids at work before all this can’t touch anything started. Many were happy to have something to fiddle with while I did paperwork. A coworker from a different location saw one sitting on the desk and played with it while waiting for a delivery. He was over the moon when I told him to keep it! Halloween is not an option at my house since we have not gotten a single kid since we moved in a few years ago.
@InnocuousFarmer @speediedelivery I’m not in a halloween rich area lol. We drove to town to take visitors kids. Would make no sense to come here. I just remember bunches saying they would use them for Halloween when they had those massive batches to dump. I managed to restrain myself

@Kidsandliz So you gave them out on Halloween-how did that work out? What I really wanted to buy and give out was those pounds bags of candy corn that meh was selling by the box one time. The parents would have loved it as it would have made the kids bag so heavy that they would have to return home early.
@Felton10 The year I did it the kids were thrilled. One ran into the street and yelled “This house has fidget spinners!!!”. I was the 8th from the street row house and that increased the traffic to my house substantially.
@InnocuousFarmer Make a pachinko-like sloped board with fixed fidget spinners properly spaced to let a puck (or another fidget spinner) dropped from the top wander down and end up in a random slot.

Still planning to make the beer (was concerned about doing it when the weather was too hot…) Oh, Crap… just realized i bought that kit in 2017!
The thermostat is waiting for a nice day when I can disconnect the old thermostat and fish new wires to make the connection without using jumpers across my control panel in the heater/ac unit.
