I love the videos (all of them) but realized that it’s been since, like, Jason Toon (RIP?) retired from Look Smart Trivia (RIP!) that new ones have been released. Not being in the online-video-making biz myself, perhaps I underestimate the time/effort/costs associated with this but man alive I want them back!!!

I would blame Amazon, but they haven’t bought meh yet… I’m not sure what their excuse for killing the creative team is. I do find it ironic that people blamed Amazon for making woot less fun and meh was started as an experiment to see if the traditional deal-a-day site could still work. I guess that experiment concluded that it could, but only if you got rid of the fun.
So, ultimately woot’s downfall was inevitable and wasn’t Amazon’s fault. It’s simply not profitable to pay someone to make original content daily on a site that only sells 1 item per day.

I heard @matthew is lying low because he was collecting a paycheck for each of the characters but only paying income taxes on his own salary. IRS didn’t take kindly to that.

It’s probably all the hookers and blow that go along with the heady lifestyle that comes from being a meh creative. Just look at that shit in the write ups sometime.

I’m torn… I love the videos, but since they’ve stopped being new and original, I spend less time here which has meant I spend less money. So on the upside, I redid my bathroom!
