What are you most likely to use an air mattress for? When guests come to stay as to create an incentive for them to leave. At least that is the impression I get when I've slept on them in the past. Generally I sleep better on wood flooring with a blanket for padding than an air mattress. If I like the guests I'll let them use the pull out couch.
They make great body bags when you need to dispose of masses greater than 500 lbs. Tools needed. Backhoe. Utility knife. PVC/CPVC all purpose cement. 3 bags mulch( I prefer nuggets ) and 4-6 6-8 inch potting plants. Satisfaction not guaranteed, product warranty void in all 50 states.
I put up my guests on the Queen memory-foam-mattressed regular bed in the master bedroom and inflate a basic air mattress on the fold-out couch. The couch's mattress was just heinous and the air mattress solution was pure inspiration. A couple of years ago, it would have been me on the air mattress as my regular bed, however. My domestic situation was "under reorganization."
For S'morgies.
It's all about the cots. I've moved beyond pneumatic furniture--for me or guests.
