During the day, we are watching the wildflowers and the plum trees come into bloom, the flycatchers and hummingbirds building their nests, and keeping an eye out for the new fawn (the pregnant female has not been around the last week).
We are watching the notices from the State, County and local pharmacies so we can get our neighbors into a vaccine appointment.
We are watching Casemates for a Viognier sale and Meh for a Mehrathon.
During the evening, it’s the Wynonna Earp, Resident Alien and John Oliver recordings that are stacking up.
Some men aren’t looking for anything logical, like money. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watchthe world burn
For All Mankind, awesome historical fiction series about the space race. On Apple TV, first season free, second costs you at least $4.99 (monthly fee). AND, Spring Training MLB and PGA and some NCAA BB conference tourney games.
Countin’ flowers on the wall
That don’t bother me at all
Playin’ solitaire till dawn with a deck of fifty-one
Smokin’ cigarettes and watchin’ Captain Kangaroo
Now don’t tell me I’ve nothin’ to do
@sjk3 Now I’m watchin Pulp Fiction this weekend!
I keep hearin’ you’re concerned about my happiness
But all that thought you’re givin’ me is conscience I guess
If I was walkin’ in your shoes, I wouldn’t worry none
While you ‘n’ your friends are worried about me I’m havin’ lots of fun
I hope to watch a recording of a very funny and touching one actress play, “Bad Dates.” I saw a different terrific production a few years ago at Shakespeare & Co.in Lenox, MA performed by Elizabeth Aspenlieder. I may see a movie at home also and The Rookie and The Equalizer (series) if they are on Sunday.
Going through the MCU for the first time ever, in chronological order. A little annoyed that the spider-man movies are all under different licensing than most of the rest of the canon. Irritated at the dumbass 2008 hulk movie only being available for rent, too, but at least I had an Amazon digital credit that made it cheaper.
Catching up on Jeopardy host Mike Richard’s run. If anyone can continue in Alex Trebek’s legacy, it is him. Ken Jennings was just not as personable, and seemed perfunctory. Mike shows he has a deep fondness for the game, and his patter and tone are spot on.
@mike808 Mike is/was great. I always seem to be out of the social normal. Ratings dropped when Ken left and Mike took over. Now it’s Katie Couric. I don’t care for her at all so, I’m sure she will be a big hit.
@accelerator i thought katie couric was going to be great - after all she’s spent her whole career reading things off teleprompters and asking people questions, and she seems very personable. and yet…i have to say unfortunately she’s my least favorite guest host so far. can’t even really put my finger on why, but it’s not a good fit imho.
i really enjoyed ken, even in all his…ken-ness. mike was fine, and he obviously loves the show and everything about it, he was just too generic for me. he could have been doing the amazing race or survivor or whatever, or interchanged with those guys (or is it one guy? idk) and it wouldn’t have been any different to me.
@accelerator@mike808 Agree about Mike Richard’s guest host run. I suspect that being executive producer and host might be stretching him a bit thin on a long-term basis.
@mike808 I thought Ken Jennings did really well and might be the final permanent host. Waiting for Aaron Rogers (GB quarterback)-that could be a disaster. Just like when Vanna White hosted Wheel of Fortune when Pat Sajack was recovering. She was like a deer in the headlights the whole time and was difficult to watch.
I’m literally watching paint dry this weekend. We are having the whole house done. Retexturing walls with a plaster skip trowel finish; painted from ceiling to baseboards, and wood plank tile laid throughout the entire house. We’re all, us and the three cats, sequestered in the master bedroom for three weeks.
@tinamarie1974 yeah, it wasn’t a good game for us, we didn’t play well. not sure what it is about afternoon games usually. (not blaming the time of the game of course! just always seems like we can’t get it together if it’s early lol.) that’s okay though, we’ll bounce back.
@tinamarie1974 if only! funny how it goes. we’ll beat one of the best teams and then go on to get whipped by one of the worst. this year is definitely an adjustment for us with chara having moved on (and i also think torey krug was a huge loss) and we’ve had some injuries but there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to our wins/losses. hopefully we show up tonight!
@tinamarie1974 yeah, i thought it was despicable tbh. to have his last season be the covid bubble hot mess, with no fans…to let him go out that way after all he gave to us, i was appalled. but, life goes on i guess! we are lucky to have bergeron to fill his shoes, anyhow.
One of George Carlin’s favorite routine was about how boring it was to watch golf. Said it was as excited as watching flies fuck. He said you hit the ball and you go find it and then what do you do-you hit it again. You are lucky you found it-you should pick it up and go home.
@Kyeh We saw him three times in concert-the last time six months before he died. He told the audience he just gotten out of the hospital for heart failure which is what he eventually died from.
@Felton10@Kyeh I saw George once and loved it. So many good routines.
It is also acceptable to put the golf ball in your pocket (lucky you found it) and go to the clubhouse bar. Never did like hit the ball, chase the ball myself
@Kyeh This is when I saw him and he died in June of 2008 so I was a little off in my time frame.
George Carlin
Dec. 8, 2006
The groundbreaking comedian made the last of several packed performances following his HBO special “Life is Worth Losing,” in which he mentioned his newfound sobriety and riffed on topics such as suicide, genocide and humans’ inferiority to other animals. “My first purple hall,” he wrote in the guestbook during his first Van Wezel date decades earlier — pretty clean for Carlin. He passed away in 2008 at 71 years old.
@RiotDemon Absolutely. It’s great for old and new movies that are not available digitally. Plus I usually get a new disc 2 days after I mail in my old disc. In the event there is a delay in shipment, they will send me the next disc in my queue so I always have something to watch.
Star Wars Rebels. Convinced my family to watch. Thank you, Mandalorian.
Water boil
Rewatching the “Imposters” on Netflix. Highly recommend it.
Probably a few videos on YouTube in between reading and playing with computers.
Blacklist on Netflix
I’ll be watching snow fall -
and fall, and fall, and fall…
Or so the meteorologists tell me.
Well, I don’t what “WE” are watching, but I am watching patients in my ER.
I’m watching my mouth, because I’ve been getting really grouchy lately.

Watching the clock jump ahead an hour on Sunday morning. Where did that hour of sleep go?
@hchavers
wait, what… is that this week?
Dammit. Why can’t it be tonight when I (unexpectedly) have to work a double overnight???
Probably finish off “For All Mankind”. For a child of the first Space Age, it’s great fun. The premise is: What if Russia landed on the moon first?
Great actors, mostly unknown to me, great effects, and a great mix of history that I lived through, and completely new twists.
@blaineg Recently heard no Season 3, what buttholes…maybe morons?!
On Sunday I have plans to finish off The Mandolarian with a couple of friends in my covid bubble.
It’s been great to enjoy the company of other people instead of just watching alone at home.
My one friend is a great host and insists on making a huge deal about dinner and snacks whenever we get together.

Spring Training Baseball!

@jitc
like this?
@chienfou almost. Ant-Man and The Wasp is swapped with Doctor Strange and Thor: Ragnarok on my list, and then the second Spider-Man to finish it off.

@jerk_nugget I’m looking forward to seeing LeVar Burton or Neil deGras Tyson taking a shot at it.
@accelerator oooh really? i haven’t looked into who else will be on, so i hope this is true! i would very much like to see both of them as well.
@accelerator @mike808 Agree about Mike Richard’s guest host run. I suspect that being executive producer and host might be stretching him a bit thin on a long-term basis.

Kramer… hosting Jeopardy?? Now you have my curiosity aroused.

@jerk_nugget we lost our last series against Vegas. I would like to blame the number of players injured, but we don’t seem to play well against Vegas
I guess we cannot win them all
@tinamarie1974 if only! funny how it goes. we’ll beat one of the best teams and then go on to get whipped by one of the worst. this year is definitely an adjustment for us with chara having moved on (and i also think torey krug was a huge loss) and we’ve had some injuries but there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to our wins/losses. hopefully we show up tonight!
@jerk_nugget I was shocked when Chara moved on. That had to be devastating for the organization.
Good luck tonight!!

thank you and cheers, likewise!
I’m hoping to watch Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me so I can start watching Twin Peaks: The Return

Mormon midget porn…
@somf69
so… game of thrones reruns?
Last week’s episode of The Walking Dead so I am caught up for tomorrow’s new episode.
Also watching “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” since it was the latest disc on my Netflix queue.
@JT954 you still get discs?
@RiotDemon Absolutely. It’s great for old and new movies that are not available digitally. Plus I usually get a new disc 2 days after I mail in my old disc. In the event there is a delay in shipment, they will send me the next disc in my queue so I always have something to watch.
@JT954 @RiotDemon The dvd option is extra on top of the $14/mo HD streaming plan.
