FYI, this is an ultrasonic humidifier. TLDR, anything in your water ends up in the air. If you have a lot of minerals (or anything else) in your water, you may want to look for an evaporative humidifier instead, especially if you have asthma or are sensitive in any way.
Technically the manuals for the ultrasonic models say to ONLY use distilled water, but who has time for buying distilled water every time you run your humidifier? So the concern is if you’re lazy and use tap water.
@Konoakapen I’m already buying distilled water for my egg cooker, my cpap, and my other humidifier(s). What’s one more mouth to feed?
Pro Tip: The baby section at Wal-Mart has Parent’s Choice brand of distilled water, usually a few cents cheaper that the distilled water out by the spring water.
