West coast advantage?
0Anyone else notice that people on the west coast usually buy up the less mediocre stuff before the east coast people have a chance to see the day's new deal?
I know it means actively taking a step toward improvement, but would the people behind meh.com consider changing the time that new deals are released to a time that more of us are likely to be awake, wherever we are in the nation?

Perhaps you could read any of the several threads already dedicated to this discussion.
Ground breaking. In that 'there are already multiple other threads with people crying and whining and cursing because they didn't get an item that they likely wouldn't have bought under any other circumstances but now simply CAN NOT live without but it sold out because they were asleep' kind of way.
I'm curious how the West Coast people get access to the deals before the east coast people, do you think we have time machines over here? I wish we did, but alas we still don't even have hoverboards!
@Saffer49 Sucks to be you. We have hoverboards on the east coast. You have to show proof of residency to purchase one and sign a non-disclosure agreement keeping them hidden from west coasters.

Nope. Time is an illusion. Especially time zones. You see, the new meh item goes live at the same instant no matter where you live! Everyone has an equal shot to see it at the exact same moment regardless of what the local clock reads. Pro tip: Check meh before you go to sleep; not after you wake up.

OMG give it up. All these west coast east coast threads are just dumb. Like I said in the last one, I get up at 6am EST every day for work. I set an alarm for 12, roll over check phone go back to sleep. If you put forth a little effort you can get first dips over the ones who don't.

I think to be fair they should try different times. Why not?? This site is in development stages right? It's supposed to be a different experience than the typical deal a day sites, right? So why not? Take a month and try 6 AM EST, then try 12 noon EST, then 6 PM EST. Find a time that benefits the whole country. After all, they gave away free VMP, so I am sure they are up to try new things. Be different.
This is just a suggestion. It seems like the whole West Coast vs East Coast battle will never end. So maybe finding a new time is the best resolve.

@derek17j With time Quantity will increase as per previous posters, so wouldn't they want to find a time that the majority of the country finds convenient?
@derek17j If I were running Meh I would only be concerned with what is convenient for ME. If it sells out anyway then who cares if it's "fair" or who gets it?

I live in Massachusetts. I check at midnight. I'm a big boy and I can set an alarm to wake up if need be. I don't expect a website to cater to me. In fact, they kind of did cater to us, because there was no reason for @snapster to change the time from 1am EST as he had it on Woot. Buck up, champ.

@Mac454 My bad I guess, 21 years in the military has trained me to be up before the sunrise. I am not going to set an alarm to save 5 bucks on a gadget and risk not being on my A game. No biggie, it was just a suggestion.
@derek17j Husband was in the service for 27 years. He's trained himself to wake up every night at 11, check Meh, then go right back to sleep. He's a very weird old fart.
