The CAPTCHA breakthrough came hard on the heels of another major milestone from Google’s DeepMind team, the people who built the world’s best Go-playing system. DeepMind built a new artificial-intelligence system called AlphaGo Zero that taught itself to play the game at a world-beating level with minimal training data, mainly using trial and error — in a fashion similar to how humans learn.
PS. Meh will likely not remove the CAPTCHA for FUKO purchases.
The CAPTCHA system still fulfills the obvious function of torturing and humiliating would-be purchasers.
2 problems with this video. The yellow gang “leader” is also wearing purple. Would the yellow gang really allow that? Did the yellow gang leader once belong to the purple gang, but started his own gang because he did not like the way the purple gang was being run? And, after the purple robot wins, the purple gang is just going to walk away and leave their robot? Did that sort of treatment cause the purple robot to realize that the purple gang was dicks? Was the robots even purple and yellow colored? I just watched this vid and I don’t even remember. Don’t waste your time reading this. Sorry.
@haydesigner a robot battle? I have heard the song is actually about his android phone breaking and him having to get it fixed. when you know this information the lyrics become pretty clear.
The article in question seems to specifically relate to the scrambled letter style CAPTCHA and doesn’t seem like it will be very effective on the qualitative ones we tend to get like “click on all of the storefronts” or “click on all of the cars”
@jbartus Which in my mind are far worse for the overthinkers out there. I’m ashamed to say I’ve failed capcha’s with pictures because if a fraction of a sign or a part of the cars wheel is in another box I still mentally count it as being what they want me to click on, but apparently they just want the bulk of the image. So I fail them because no they don’t count. I’m too stupid and fall into that trap nearly every time. Ugh.
Figured this was coming soonish.

This comment right here… Poor commenter trying to be serious, but the more I think about it the more I lol:
@djslack
I blame you for that thought.
I also blame you for the existence of CAPTCHA, and the need for that, or a similar system.
It’s All Your Fault.

@thismyusername
@Tiamat114 He might as well have just called you a skin job. If you thought captcha is hard, wait until they give you a Voight Kampff!

I’m sure robots all around the world are chomping at the bit to buy bags of leftover Bluetooth speakers, knives, power banks, and candy corn.
@lljk or perhaps… Chomping at the byte???
