A dimension of huge piles of localized lake effect snow, followed by localized flooding.
On the first day of the storm, more than four feet of snow fell less than 10 miles from my brother's house. His house got about an inch. Folks took pictures of the snow fall from the sunny side. It looks like a curtain of white. Alas, that curtain was many many miles thick.
I am foolishly taking my whole family there for Christmas. One Christmas morning, my Mom's house got 18 inches of snow. The roads were all cleared by Christmas afternoon.
@hamjudo flood didn't really happen, and I got my USPS spam safely today. Buffalo is likable shittown. You will love your stay here. We have nice people, many attractions, and good food.
I am down near Erie, PA. We were not sad to see the wind send that storm your way. My smart post stuff normally goes through Clinton, PA and then the day it departs there it is dropped off at my local post office. They must have picked up some of the overflow when the roads closed.
Also, FedEx has a automatic system that sends the tracking info to USPS near the planned delivery date. It gets interesting when FedEx gets backed up with the drop offs.

@JasonKim I know, I grew up there. The foolish part is visiting my extended family at Christmas time instead of during the summer.
I'm guessing that in order to prevent further delays, FedEx is going to let the USPS deliver it to you from PA, instead of your local hub.
Bummer. I hope you get it
@capguncowboy usually it only takes a day from Fedex to USPS but it's weird this time :(
Talk about suspense! Plenty of Fuku disappointment awaits. Good luck hang in there.
