We have kittens!
25Well, not yet. Vet says about a week and a half. Natasha (the kitty) is pretty small and I hope it all goes well. Vet also says she counts six. I’m not sure…some of my facebook friends say they count eight!
The vet’s office has assured me they’ll help us find homes for the babies.

Hugs to you for being kind and caring for homeless cats, and skritches to Natasha for extra love.
@OldCatLady Thank you. I’m pretty nervous, this is a first for us. We spay right away and this is the first time it was obvious the cat was pregnant. So, no spay. Not yet.
@lisaviolet
With a momcat and two kittens in my fostering kennel at the moment, and having raised three litters (none of them momcats from my household) in 2019/2020, I can say that you are in for some…things. A good mom makes it easier, and she looks sufficiently laid back that this shouldn’t be a big ordeal. But in about a month or so, be ready for the invasion of the toddlers. They will try to climb your legs like trees.
So exciting. Hope everything goes well
Oh, Natasha!! What have you been up to?? . I’m so excited for you though! Can’t wait to see kitten pics. And more of Natasha’s belly!
@moonhat We’ve only had her since last Saturday. She was on our fence, looking to get in, which is hard to do since the fence has been modified since the 90s to keep our cats on our property.
There’s a 30’ drop to the other side where she was standing. And Nooby is very territorial and I was afraid he’d jump up at her and she’d fall. So, I went out front, got her to come to me, put out some food, she ate, I grabbed her up and brought her in.
Looked for “lost cat” posts and there have been none that describe her. We think she was dumped.
The vet was amazed at how laid back she is.
@lisaviolet @moonhat
That’s exactly what I was thinking, she sure is laid back! She’s basking in the sun like she’s lived there with you guys FOREVER. That’s wild! I can’t wait to see pictures of the whole kitty crew! And BTW, congratulations!!
@lisaviolet I am Sooo glad she chose you to move in with. Clearly she is very intelligent! And I’m very looking forward to seeing the kittens.
My pure white cat, Freya, was a neighborhood colony kitten that I’d meant to catch and get fixed, and then in June of 2019, after having been absent from my yard for several days, she showed up to cadge a meal and was obviously pregnant. I was leaving on a business trip (and living alone at the time) so I had to wait until I got back to do anything about it, and by then she’d dropped the litter. But I figured that if I left the door to the shop/garage open, she’d probably bring the kittens over here, and that worked. I trapped her, cleaned out the nest, and eight weeks later the kittens went to an adoption program. Freya had decided to stay, and assumed the role of Goddess Empress Of The House. She spends a lot of time in my lap.
@werehatrack then you became one of her Subjects… at her beck and call.
@werehatrack was Freya in a little video someone here created that was all the pets of meh or something? Her name is so familiar
My brother tried to get two kittens and the demand was so high it took months. I bet the vet already has people waiting for them.
@sammydog01 That’s what I was told at the vet’s yesterday. One of their clients was looking for a new cat because one of theirs had died. They already have two. But every one that was available had something wrong (disease wise) and they couldn’t in good conscience bring any of them home.
So, I’m hoping it all goes well and she gives birth with no trouble and the kittens are all healthy.
So exciting. I only count 6 little babies. Pretty cool I’ve never seen a pregnant cat X-ray before. You’ll have to update us and show us pics of the kittens. There’s something really special about kittens, their just so darn cute.
The vet thought coco was pregnant but she much have just had them and never found them so meh.
No arguing with that x-ray. That’s… Fascinating. I feel like aliens are coming
New born kitties are so cute. I bottle fed my one (that died just shy of 20 late Feb) from 10 days old. I am relieved though that the vet will help you find them a home. Now you get to enjoy the babies without having to worry about finding them families.
Yay, kittens! Thank you for taking in that poor pregnant momma kitty. She needed you.❤
The mother of the siblings I adopted was pregnant when she was taken in by the rescue group; they allowed her to bear the kittens and I got two from the litter.
Fascinating. I count 12, is that OK?
@mehcuda67 No. It is not okay.
In the 2nd pic, it looks like they are cuddled up in pairs. Would be cute to see if they continue to pair off like that after birth. Very cool pics – thanks for sharing!
Tortie cats are great moms. I hope everything goes smoothly. Can’t wait to see kitten pics!
