@mike808 These can be used as a duvet cover or as a top layer for looks. I picked one up because of that. It has some padding so it’s more warmth than say a sheet.
Previously sold on Morningsave.
@mike808 Different people have different definitions for the terms but my workroom uses the following:
Bedspread: Light filler, floor length, no dust ruffle needed
Coverlet: Light filler, covers the mattress on the sides, looks best with a dust ruffle or solid bed frame.
Duvet: Fluffy down (or down alternative) that is usually just white and needs a decorative cover.
Comforter: Coverlet with more/fluffier filler.
Blanket: Fabric without any filling
@mike808 - do you like it? And the outer shell really is cotton? Although the inner fill is polyester, would you say it’s a cool-ish (as in temperature) layer for summer? TIA!
@mike808 Oh, and I really don’t like dust ruffles, so do you have an opinion about sizing up? e.g., I have queen-sized mattress, so order a king-size “coverlet?”
@mike808@RiotDemon@sinless I use a coverlet as a sumer blanket. It is thinner than a quilt, so it provides less warmth. Perfect for summer when you want something lighter.
@evgrosen@mike808 My husband and I are both very large and have cover wars all the time. So I put king sized blankets/ top sheets/ and so on on our bed. We both stay warm when he rolls in them.

Bedder off Bed?
Snore
What’s the difference between these?
Or is it all just marketing BS?
@mike808 coverlets aren’t fluffy.
Duvets require covers, comforters do not.
I have a duvet cover on my comforter.
Blankets… Uhh. Dunno.
@mike808 @RiotDemon I’m pretty sure blankets are usually just one layer instead of multiple sandwiched together, filled, etc.
@RiotDemon @sinless
So are these just for looks or will they help keep you warm as an extra layer?

@mike808 @RiotDemon @sinless I’m thinking it’s a perfect thickness for summer.
