Its technically cheaper on banggood’s website but I would say pass on this toy drone.
The drone’s model is the E58 and like usual its cloned to death in china. You will find it under a myriad of names but they are all essentially the same device.
@arbdef@BIGRHAWQS@txstiger Although the Amazon listing is confusing, I finally concluded from it and the Q&As that the drone uses one battery and comes with 2 extras.
This is a rather tasteless cosmetic knockoff of the much more expensive (and much more capable) DJI Mavic, by the looks of it. I’m sure it flies well for the price, but I cannot speak for the quality of the camera, other than that these cheaper drones often shoot mediocre video footage.
It looks like a cheap clone of the cheap clone of a Mavic Mini I bought earlier this year from China. It was a good trainer before I spent real money and got the actual Mini. It was worth the money to learn how to fly FPV and not so scary when I crashed.
Right now, if you want a real drone I suggest the DJI Mini or Mavic Pro. I bought a broken Mavic air , repaired, all for only $300 and sold my Phantom 4 for 1k
@Glucose Not true - the standard Mavic Mini packages is $359 right now, and Costco has a package with some extras for $389. And the new DJI Mini 2 is $459 - only the Fly More package is over $500 at $599.
@Kidsandliz@shahnm yeah, you can take a real helicopter to the north pole and fly your drone after landing. LOL! BTW, I think Santa’s at the south pole for the winter. Labor is cheaper in the south too to make toys.
I received the drone today and the box says that 3.7 volt batteries are included, however there were none in the box. I see I need 3 AA batteries for the controller, which is fine. I will need the 3.7 volt batteries to use the drone, otherwise it is a piece of useless junk.
You can check out a review video here

@packetspyke “These antennae look cool, but they’re actually just decorative”
Moneyball on finding the best review. Thanks.
“It’ll hold” it is “altitude”?
It’ll hold “it’s” altitude…?
How about “It’ll hold its altitude”?
@mehvid1 somebody at Meh has been playing “Pin the Apostrophe on the Its” again.
@mehvid1 Hey now, I think you need to hold your attitude…
you’re an all-star
@TheMonkeyKing Probably true. Woke up way too early and blood sugar was way off.
@Kenbo
headless? i think not.
@carl669 it is like marriage
Flight time? Am I missing what should be some of the most pertinent info?
@txstiger 7-9 minutes with light to no wind according to Amazon description.
@BIGRHAWQS @txstiger different device. That one has 3 batteries this is a single.
@arbdef @BIGRHAWQS @txstiger Although the Amazon listing is confusing, I finally concluded from it and the Q&As that the drone uses one battery and comes with 2 extras.
In other words, not even 720p.
Meh.
What is the resolution of the camera?
Verrrrrrry een-tay-rest-ink.
@cfg83 and not eeeven that expeeeenseeeve!
/giphy very-interesting
Where’s the banana? I need visual proof, not vague numbers.
Just inexpensive enough to not totally regret it if it’s no good, but also so inexpensive that the expectations are already pretty low.
/giphy wonderful-delectable-poem
Only two of the blades are replaceable?
@awk Three drone strikes and you’re out!
KuoH
Amazon link provided by Meh is for a “similar” drone … . what appears to be the exact same product is $49.99 (including shipping)

MEH!
PS still annoyed by my failure at obtaining any IRK during last Mehrathon
@mehvid1
I can relate to this…
Specs above say recommended for ages 14 and up.
Picture 5 clearly shows the box says it’s for ages 12+.
Makes me wonder which of the other specs are inaccurate as well…
@bakerzdosen the drone has a head. see above.
I had a similar one that I bought from AliExpress and it was not controllable. It had a mind of its own. It looked the same just a different brand.
@mzkhadir who cares, it not even related
@idontlikeu it is related because it is a E58 drone.
Ehhh. I still have a few micro ones from Meh around, and a few bigger ones that are still in the box years later.
This one looks decent.
Looks like a Mavic
@sportykev nice lookin clone.

Another listing that has less info than meh…wasn’t sure that was possible?

@PooltoyWolf Unlike the Mavic series, this doesn’t have a Gimble - so the image is gonna be very shaky.
@banksnld Absolutely!

DO NOT BUY! Sorry meh…
Right now, if you want a real drone I suggest the DJI Mini or Mavic Pro. I bought a broken Mavic air , repaired, all for only $300 and sold my Phantom 4 for 1k
@Glucose DO BUY if you have a teenager interested in drones!! DJI’s don’t run under $500
Expect crashes. I doubt it handles wind well, there’s no GPS for landing/navigating.
Like I said good for 12yo-16yos! Only fly around the house!! (Outside ofc)
@Glucose I got 2 for my boys. Both 12. Both prone to breaking things. Couldn’t agree more.
@billlbo yeeeeep. It’s funny they designed it like DJI’s, here’s mine https://imgur.com/gallery/qP5h3nk
But that’s $1000+ with batteries
@Glucose Not true - the standard Mavic Mini packages is $359 right now, and Costco has a package with some extras for $389. And the new DJI Mini 2 is $459 - only the Fly More package is over $500 at $599.
This will replace the one I got off of Meh last year that flew off into the distance, never to be seen again.
/giphy glittering-wondrous-wreath
@goffstock It was last seen over the Pacific, flying back to China.
@goffstock maybe this new one will find your old one.
@Stumpy91 Or fly away again to join it in freedom
@goffstock @Stumpy91 The “Home” button doesn’t specify which home, so technically it’s not a lie.
Where is the phone app? iPhone thanks!
@claynferno I’m looking for the app, as well. But, for Android. Have you had any luck finding it?

You won’t get very far on one battery and no charger, will you? Meh!
@nigebirch Better refrigerate that battery then!
@shahnm yeah, boy!
@nigebirch @shahnm Or fly the drone at the cold north pole and while you are at it spy on Santa? (snicker)
@Kidsandliz @shahnm yeah, you can take a real helicopter to the north pole and fly your drone after landing. LOL! BTW, I think Santa’s at the south pole for the winter. Labor is cheaper in the south too to make toys.
Similar WITH CASE at Newegg for $50 https://www.newegg.com/holy-stone-1080p-foldable-hs350-black/p/380-0027-00040
perfect gift for my 10 year old, santa can’t afford a mavic
I still haven’t fully unpacked the 2 for $20 drone I bought last year. Neither has my brother, who received the spare.
I wonder if the phone app actually works. They don’t always.
Yeah, ok.

@leebrown73 If you haven’t done so already, contact meh support about the missing battery.
https://meh.com/support
Had to push start one of the motors, kinda like the old style planes. Hoping for a replacement but this may wind up in the skeet range.
@78firebird Meh didn’t let me down. The products might be meh, but the support is excellent!
Thanks!
Mine was JUST delivered today. Odd that it also came with a big box of ballots…
How can I get another battery for this?
