South Carolina has a “Shag” plate available (state dance). Has picture of people shagging on it (dance shagging).
As an Englishman, I was very tempted to get a Shag plate for my car… But for $50 premium, I decided to pass. The joke wasn’t worth that much to me. Especially since the recent-years redesign made the word “shag” really small and “State Dance” larger
I had a 25 year old Grand Caravan with an Antique Car plate (kid called it the ghetto van due to peeling and faded paint, minor dents and an axe hole in the side). Does that count?
As a high schooler, I often used to spend Saturday mornings in the Dallas Public Library in the downtown area. Many times I saw a fancy car (Lincoln, maybe?) parked a block or two away. Had plates OILNGAS. Figured that’s where the purchase money came from. There were banks close by.
I guess, if you got it, flaunt it.
(And this was long before JR came to town.)
I’m curious. Did this initially come out before or after my Vanity plate contest?

@OnionSoup That’s hilarious! Too bad you didn’t get this one:
It doesn’t say dancing and those shoes could be … sitting under the bed?
Strongbad is my North star.
