Untapped
5Beer people(and cider that's at you @hollboll) there is this great app to track what beers you like dislike, like, and what your friends are drinking/into. I'll edit and link my profile so people can start adding friends.

I love Untappd, and because of it, I don't think I've bought a full case or anything larger than a 6 pack for a long time (except for the DuClaw variety pack)- always want to be trying something new instead of drinking the same beer continuously.
@dashcloud I have like-minded beer drinkers at my office. Plus my father. If I'm excited for something, I keep it all. Otherwise, I share on a sliding scale of how excited I am, and get reciprocal beers. It's a pretty fantastic system.
Okay, I did it. Same name.
bobinchicago here. I'm not very active, for better or worse.
I am me there.
Been using the app for a couple years now - I just wish I could remember to check in when I drink one. Oh, the missed brews!
Signed up.
I am pretty sure I sent you a friend request yesterday.
grahamb5, add me mehtizens!
@grum ah now it makes sense.
@grum is it your saison we are still waiting for? @jont?
@marklog Yeeeeeah that's me. I have it bottled and labeled! I just need to make some time to run down and get some dunnage. I will put a reminder in my phone to do that today.
I'm on there as whiteni. I'm super creative with my user names.

Hmm an app that leaves evidence on how much I drink when i do go out...not so sure.
Migawd, you lushes.
Anyone know how to enter a homebrew? It must be so obvious that I just keep not seeing it.
@editorkid enter a regular brew. the app will tell you that you're an idiot, and will need to do a full search. enter it again. it will again call you an idiot. the third time, it will ask you to enter all of the details for said brew.
I'm not kidding.
@marklog Thanks. This is why I don't use it much, I guess...
@marklog @editorkid This is entirely accurate.
However, there is an alternative. You can sign up to manage your own brewery page on the Untappd website (setup and management on web browser only). Once they grant you management access, you can log into the brewery through your personal account and add the beer info without Untappd calling you an idiot.
@grum done and done, thanks! Very disappointed you aren't in the beer fuku, btw.
@grum Thanks. I will spend the weekend contemplating whether I'm too lazy to do this. Of course, maybe I should check with my homebrewing friends to see if they've already done this, too.

Go for it and add me!
I am tragos there. I think.
I'm still me there.
@becca Hey, are you in Boston proper or in the area? I grew up in Arlington and lived in Watertown and Somerville (Sully Square and Davis Square) for a long time.
@editorkid nice! I'm in Dorchester now, used to live in Somerville near Innan, grew up just south of the city.
I love this app! Feel free to add me https://untappd.com/user/unoriginal26
I am going to OctoBEERfest at the PGH Zoo tonight, so I am going to be checking in a lot!
Have not signed up myself but that app has pretty much turned hubby into a beer-alcoholic. I have avoided due to my addictive personality for good/fun things.
@cbilyak it is seriously dangerous motivation! My partner's been using it for the past year and checking in for the both of us. But joining myself definitely makes me want to reach for another beer.
@becca it has materially changed the way I buy and drink beer. @abrakke can attest.
@marklog it sure has. I no longer buy what I like but things that I haven't had just to put them in. Don't get me wrong I don't go out of my style comfort zone but will try something new over the things I know I enjoy. But yes makes me think I have a drinking problem.
And it also makes me want to take silly pictures of my beer
@becca @marklog @abrakke even this beer fuku has me trying new things. Last night while out I had a Troublesome which is a coriander wheat beer - probably would not have tried that normally but I enjoyed it and stumbled upon a local brewery which was new to me in the process...and at a concert venue no less. If I am not careful, I will create an Untapped account...but then I will have missed logging all the great beers I have had of late.
@cbilyak don't let missed beer entries stop you! starting today is better than starting tomorrow.
@cbilyak I agree with @marklog. Plus you'll just have to drink those beers a second time to be sure of what you want to rate them :)
@cbilyak Add me! I'd love to compare beers with you. Also my coworker wanted to thank you for the beers, that I will be sharing, and ask if there was anything they could trade you for some Zombie Dust?
@sohmageek need to find some Zombie Dust and will let you know when I do. I am always up for imperial stouts, porters, and even good pumpkin beer if not too light or sweet. Will report in when I find some ZD.
@cbilyak I've sent him looking for what you're looking for. Most of the imperial that I find tends to be maple season. I've got my co-worker looking right now. Maple usually isn't too sweet unless they add it in the end.... pumpkin is usually both light and sweet I find. :(
I'm @acraigl on untappd as well.
