@communist Notice how some colors "magically" change design in the pics yet none really match the pics here. These are shape-shifting a "meh" zing headphones!
@phatmass Better than a plain white background. Anyway I wouldn't touch this deal with a 10 foot pole, given that there is not one review of TOCCs headphones on the internet, except a few on YouTube of their earbuds.
@phatmass That's a tree behind the black one so these are a lil' bit wider than a tree trunk. The logos and colors don't exactly match but rest assure that these are the same size as the "meh" ones (no one makes cheap knock-offs of cheap knock-offs).
@airjer That left hand gesture sure is "special". lol Also curious about the story behind the exclamation point at his feet directly between his legs based on his facial expression. :O
@Cinoclav no...that was a good one. I wish I'd thought of it. Perhaps going forward "speaker-docks" can be a suffix for every sucky thing ? I'll think on it. But again.. very nice!!
@Stallion What does TOCCS stand for and why does their google map location also indicate that they are the home of Restaurant Depot? Can you eat these headphones or at least use them to eat other things (like salad tongs)?
This makes all mankind cry... and aliens...they avoid the planet because of things like this.. and also the LACK of "IT DEPENDS" on the survey... I blame @joelmw and @lisaviolet and @thumperchick and @ ... @.... @... crap... @cengland0 YOU ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS
@RachelDanger27 Wait a couple of weeks and come back here and there will be plenty. It won't be pretty...unless you really don't care about sound quality much but are a fan of "beats" stylin' lookin' to try to impress UR homies. lol
@Fej You know what? Give em to your middle school kid/niece/nephew/grandkid/friend's kid and tell them they're beats and they're super nice. Kids are the pickiest reviewers.
Does Bluetooth 3.0 (vs 4.0) mean they are battery drainers or is that no big deal? Oh heck, maybe it's worth a risk - ain't gonna stay up any later and Meh seems to be on a sellout streak!
@RedOak From my understanding, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, Bluetooth 4.0 can have a low power mode that was created for smaller devices like watches and things using button cell batteries. Obviously this using Bluetooth 3.0, it will never use that low power protocol even if your phone supported it.
I've been looking for a half-decent pair of Bluetooth headphones with a good call mic for some time. For the price, I'm willing to give these a shot. If they fit the bill for me, to whom do I owe a delicious beer for making this happen?
Couldn't find much on these other than Tempo model( on their site matches picture). Knew I had seen the name before though. They make the 10 ft bungee smartphone cable.
Wow, I moseyed on over to the TOCCs website and it is interminably confusing. There's just a bunch of tabs with their product names as if I'm supposed to know what the hell they are. Real quick, what's a "Tempo," a "Nil," a "Surge," or a "Pocket?"
@cengland0 I know. I posted a picture from that page elsewhere in the thread. But there's no tooltip or flavor text on the links to each product which is super confusing.
@andrewpatrick Agreed! I looked into a pair TOCCs earbuds and they had NO specs on their website and I couldn't find any reviews of them anywhere. So I'll pass on the TOCCs brand altogether.
@steigst there was a complaint about their bluetooth speaker as well, so the headphones might have similar reception issues... something about this stinks, I'm gonna stay away from this deal
@phatmass looks like Toccs was getting ripped apart on resellerratings in November. So in December they woke up and planted several fake looking 5-star reviews.
@mghostsoft@phatmass@steigst@RedOak Hey guys thanks for the feedback. We were not aware of the reseller rating site until mid to late November when we became a merchant member.At that time we made it a priority to reach out to all customer concerning their unsatisfactory experiences. There are no fake reviews there. Those are all from customers who had kind words to say about us. With webutation there has not been a review posted since October. Each customer from the dozen reviews on there wre personally contacted and assisted. If you guys have any questions or concerns due to reviews you see feel free to email me at Imelda@toccs.com so I can help put your mind at ease.
@lonnyzone unfortunately when listening to post industrial ambient glitchcore you will get a faint feedback that resembles the cries of a million tortured souls burning in fiery brimstone. Other than that you are fine.
Hey guys, why such a short aux cable? Its only 3.5 mm? I have a 9foot one roght next to me. I guess I wont need it because its Bluetooth but come on. And you better not send me call of duty ones again.
@unixrab It's okay to complain about a single product offer but what you do is complain about every offer. It's time to find a new site for you to troll.
@cengland0 Though.. I don't have a copy of your FORUM POLICE manifesto... I say : ah ha ha... I have not complained about EVERY offer... oh ye of little excel-spreadsheet
@dashcloud Yes. I believe that the AOC Monitors did not suck and I wanted to purchase them, but .... then I went to the order screen and there was no paypal button. meh
@unixrab Sorry your credit is so bad that you cannot get a credit card. You could probably still qualify for a debit card if you can open up a checking account somewhere.
@unixrab@cengland0 I kinda wanna be the Meh Jimmy Carter and broker peace between the two of you. But then, Jimmy Carter was kind of meh to start with, innit.
@ruouttaurmind There's really no need to broker peace. I know @unixrab personally and worked with him over 15 years ago. He was sort of strange then and I can see he hasn't changed much since. We used to have debates that went on for months.
@ruouttaurmind@cengland0 is correct. Old Friends who rib each other and don't see eye to eye on many things except chess and old BBS file sharing via 9600 Baud and the unix operating system being superior to all other operating systems combined. ... maybe. ;-)
@unixrab@ruouttaurmind I used to run one of the larges BBS's in Florida with 6 lines and many multiplayer doors. I was using Novell Netware to link them using coax cable. Had two networked full height 5" drives that had 1.5 Gigs each for a total of 3 Gigs. My current smartphone has more capabilities than what I had back then.
@cengland0 3 GIGS? Cripes, I remember thinking I was hot shit when I replaced my 40MB ATI hard drive with a 100MB SCSI drive! ($980 at Computer City by the way).
@iamroot eh? wha? I'm not following ... ?? Do I have a daughter? yes. Do(es) any get paid to show butt TOCCS ? that's confusing.. Do I? even more confusing... plzsplain
I don't trust this TOCCs company. Should I start pricing the t-shirts I sell on my website for $100, but then always have them on sale for 90% off so people will think that they are getting a huge deal on a crappy $10 shirt? The TOCCs charging cables I bought don't work. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, and get out of here.
at $14, if they don't work or fit too tight- they're perfect for any rodents in the family as a "WOW-ish" gift... If they do fit, work and sound good- yay.
Those ear pads look remarkably similar to chocolate-frosted doughnuts. Is there any chance that they really are chocolate-frosted doughnuts? I mean, if they really are, then I guess the bad news is that they aren't very durable...but the good news is that they should be very tasty. Also, replacement ear pads could be had for less than a buck each at the local bakery, another plus.
Hmmm, I just realized that I haven't eaten in over 12 hours. Perhaps I should remedy that.
I have a semi-stupid question… Is there someway to get this to work with my TV? Such as, is there a bluetooth adapter I can plug into my audio out port and broadcast to these headphones? My IR wireless headphone crapped out a couple of months ago, and I've (obviously very slowly) been looking for a replacement. (TIA.)
@haydesigner If the bluetooth doesn't work (which is likely) I plan on using these with my Roku 3, plugging them into the remote. So that will work, but so will any headphones and you have to have a Roku3
Also a good idea, @DeuceSevin! I actually do have a Roku 3, but I also have an AppleTV, and I like that much better. Still, a viable alternative, at least perhaps for the short term. Thanks!
Oh god no. The worst earphone purchase I have ever made ever ever ever ever was from TOCCs. They were $6 and that was about $12 too expensive. Having heard the crackle and fuzz when I plugged them into my iphone I was wondering if they'd damaged the phone!
@edheil I feared as much. I'm glad I happened by Meh.com too late tonight and they were already sold out, otherwise my VMP membership may have overrulled my common sense.
@katlandreth those would be the Tempe, AZ model but they misspelled it. Everyone in Tempe who wanted them, bought them. Same guts, renamed. Now on to the Northeast....
I've gotta tell you that I've just cancelled my order, Meh. THAT word "14 bucks" did something to me just in a second! I had to look in to my credit card bill for more than 10 seconds just to be sober. Well played, Meh.
@a interesting find... via the massive Alibaba group in China, and Yahoo partner. Certainly could be an earlier version of these headphones, perhaps even from the same plant.
@a Tried Alibaba once - seller never got around to shipping what I tried to order, & was refunded without question.....but that one first disappointing try was enough for me to put them on my stear-clear seller list.
I bought a pair of TOCCs "Featherbuds" Bluetooth (2.1+EDR) sport headphones because I was tired of dealing with corded headphones when jogging. I think they were $25 on Stack Social. The Bluetooth on the TOCCs is terrible. It drops the connection constantly or stutters. It was so unreliable and annoying that I went back to the equally annoying but reliable corded earbuds.
Granted, there are a million factors that could be at the root of that problem, but I've had decent experiences using other Bluetooth headphones with the same phone. So, even at an extremely tempting $14, I think I'll "meh" this offer.
I bought the red one, its my first purchase for 2015 and need to use my free monthly VMP shipping. I'll post a review after I receive them, which will be of really no help.
@Psymac Except a review will help us determine the quality of the TOCCs brand! TOCCs are all over daily deal sites these days, places that have no real review systems.
I'm kind of a sucker for headphones. I have a good set, but emergency kickarounds with Bluetooth and plug in audio cable? In for 2(sad that I missed out on the reds).
@Dash "I'm kind of a sucker..." - Well, then...you got yourself the right pair of "headphones" here. "...sad that I missed out on the reds" - Don't be sad, soon enough you'll be red in the face once you listen to these.
@iggy71 Oh, but you're a clever one you are. I know good audio and I'm not expecting these to match Sennheiser or Polkaudio sets. They are probably equal to Beats though! (bassey tat)
My first question for any kind musical reproduction would be ," what is the frequency response?". Clearly these are not about sound. Kind of like wearing sunglasses on your head.
was watching this since it popped up. figured "okay. I have 2 dollars in my 'meh.com gift card.' If these haven't sold out by tomorrow, I'll transfer funds and buy the damn white ones." Whelp, that's the end of that chapter.
My Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm may not have as sexy a title as "TOCCs" or "beats" but blows away those "studio headphones", even at their target audience which likely wants a lot of bass (the beyer's don't emphasize the bass but it can reproduce some pretty low frequencies) and I got used on ebay for $90. Then add the cost of replacement ear cushions were because eww cooties. I can also literally make the headphone band completely flat and no issue. I'm afraid just looking at a beats will cause it to spontaneously combust.
Welp since this sold out probably no one is going to read comments any more. It's so lonely here... so very lonely.
@brdubb Those that buy this expecting super quality sound might(will probably) be dissapointed. These are likely decent headphones that you can toss around without caring about thier welfare.
@Dash exactly, that's why i would have gotten them for the 3 kids. first so i don't have to listen to that 1d crap, second because i'm tired of using a weld to pull the half broken headphone jack from their ipad socket.
I don't get most of the jokes in here, but I laugh anyways to feel included. Also, 14 headphones? Hell yes. I'm assuming they're shite but on the of chance they aren't it's worth the buy. And if they are, it's only $14, not a big deal.
@airjer You'd be luckier to get struck by lightning than to get a decent pair of headphones in this "deal". Ok, ok...I'm exaggerating now (about the lightning odds part).
@mjdelman servers wouldn't be able to handle a noon or daytime flip. The midnight although sucks gives a smaller initial crowd to hit the servers. Maybe 6am EST would be another good time as it gives a smaller audience as well
@mjdelman You'd still likely have missed it. It would have sold out in 10 minutes instead and crashed the servers in the process. I check meh just before going to sleep.
All this talk about color... I ordered white. I actually have some white headphones I've used for 4 years. They are called the Steelseries Siberia Full-Size Headphones. Funny thing is, I must be wearing them wrong because when I do, I can't see them. It has never dawned on me to ask anyone who sees me how my white headphones make them feel.
Plus, they are a great addition to my winter ghillie suit. I can rock tunes and wait for a shot for up to 8 hours and no one will ever see me. Thank you white bluetooth head phones.
@readnj I'll save you the trouble - this wasn't worth while. And when they start to arrive in a week or so, I am sure you'll find plenty of meh'ers willing to sell you theirs for $14
Meh, I snagged 2 just after midnight for the hell of it. Worth a shot, although I got burned by Toccs' 10 foot Lightning cable pair sold on Groupon a while back. List at $69 for the pair, I think I paid $15. In any case, for something that they supposedly sell at $34.xx each, I'd damn well expect them to be MFI-certified. They aren't, and my iPhone 6 refused to accept them. Weaksauce.
If I get burned by these, I'll be sure and poo-poo all over any Toccs products I see for sale in the future.
I have some kind of Bluetooth fixation. I seem to spring for anything Bluetooth that Meh sells. Had to have these for my collection. Got white; warn-plucky-bedbug.
Its really annoying to come to meh.com at 8 am and everything is already sold out. wtf. how can I even use my VMP membership? Y'all need to have another round of Meh at noon or something. Get with it meh. Stop letting me down.
@RedOak Was wondering this too, especially after looking through some of the older maps… definitely skew as one would predict, which makes them all fairly similar.
I bought one of these through Living Social. For the price it isn't horrible, but improvements could be made. Pros: Sounds quality is very good Easy to pair Controls are understandable
Cons: Too loud, others can hear my music clearly Too bulky Too tight
Mine came in today and I've been using them for the last couple of hours. For $14, they are great headphones. The sound quality out of the box can be a little flat, but if the device/app you're using has an EQ, it can sound really good. I'm pleasantly susurprised.
So... they came in today, charged pretty quickly, synced with my phone right off the bat, and then snapped in the center when I was trying to adjust them. C'est la vie. Learn from my mistake and be extra gentle with these, or not, as the case may be.
@sinless I did the same thing. My 3 yr old daughter had them on until bedtime and loved them. After that it was my turn to try them out. Ipad, Netflix and these headphones. Was great for a while, then I realized I had a fat head, and too, tried to "adjust" them. They are now on the kitchen counter while the gorilla glue sets. I hope the 3 yr old isn't too upset in the morning.
got mine today and it the volume button is already broken. :( now no sound is coming out. I suggest you use your phone's volume and try to not touch the buttons on the headset.
Mine arrived today and the box is marked BT 2.1, nowhere close to over the ear, they are so tight on my head I don't think I could use them for more than an hour, and I can't get the equalizer settings adjusted for good sound. I wonder if my neighbors 10y kid (that I hate) would like these..........
The USB cable that came with mine was a USB Micro-A, but the Charger port on the headphone is USB Micro-B (incompatible) Beware! Don't try to force that cable in... just use a different one.
So far so good... We'll see. Sound is decent, not great. Paired fine to a couple devices. Has an FM tuner - that's about impossible to find stations, but does work. Haven't tried the card slot yet. Definitely for small heads Best part--The voice prompts are in Engrish!
@bluebeatpete Mine paired quickly with android out of the box. I did get a chuckle when it told me the batteries were low and it was shutting down. It sounded like George Takei.
Mine were delivered today and the volume up button does not work. On a more positive note they are comfortable and look nice. But, did I mention, the volume button doesn't work?
@beerandhotwings i just discovered that if you use the cord included it works! It's not wireless anymore though. But it works. :P Oh I have that same problem with mine.
Got mine today and am not impressed. The Bluetooth range is not as advertised. Get anything between phone and headset and it breaks up, and by "anything" I mean anything, even my hand.
@TOCCSREP looks like you've got quite a few complaints, including one from myself in which none of the buttons on the headset function. Charged it for about 4 hours today and immediately says low battery.
anyone figured out how to reset them? i tried playing music from SD card and it froze, playing annoying noise and not responding to any buttons.. currently sitting running out battery
(eta. i can't imagine people paying $100 for these)
First use: Paired fine, sounded decent. Attempts to press a button resulted in a stuck button that will not depress. With the button stuck, audio will no longer work through the headphones.
@lichme Fun fact: I just went to their website, and found the product. The very first image also shows the same stuck button right on their website. https://toccs.com/featured/red-402
These headphones are a troubling paradox. If I had paid $100+ for them. I'd be pretty disappointed and most likely return them. But, I paid $14 for them and they are the best $14 headphones I've ever used.
Sound quality is decent. Not near as good as my $60 Eskuché headphones, but GREAT for $14 :)
I guess I need to go dig up a manual from the TOCCS website because I have no clue how to use the FM/EQ or any other buttons other than pairing.
@tonylegrone Here is what I've figured out so far... You hold the EQ/FM button until he says "Radio Modo" and then you single tap it to have it scan... it then scans and stops when it finds a "strong" station. Warning if you are unsure of the volume do this with them off the head as it is pretty loud when you have the volume up.
@tonylegrone "...they are the best $14 headphones I've ever used." Now there's an oxymoron. Kind of like saying that's the best $100 heart surgery I've ever had. Hey, we all try to justify our mistakes. lol
Opened the box today to give these TOCCs a try (got stuck with white ones)....
Wired (cable included but its black not white, thought they would match).... they are decent sounding... I can't really complain for $14.
The earpads are bigger than I expected (due to the listing saying small)... they wear ok...
All the buttons work, it charged pretty fast
Bluetooth wise.... I had no issue pairing to an iphone.
I dig the voice they used (it sounds like a real recorded voice) for prompting pairing... but...
there is a weird hissing noise that appears when the bluetooth comes on... and it stays there under the music until the bluetooth times out. Just a low level hum... constantly while using them via bluetooth... so when listening to music I can tune it out, but if i hit pause there is the hiss....
Anyone else get the weird hiss while on bluetooth ?
@thismyusername mine do the hissing thing sometimes. It tends to stop after awhile most of the time. The bigger problem that I have is sound cutting out every so often, almost like the Bluetooth connection got dropped for a split second.
How do I pair it with bluetooth? Instructions says to hold play button for 5 seconds to pair. but it also says it turns off by holding the play button for 3 seconds.
I got it to pair once with my iphone but when it disconnected, it never wanted to pair again.
@kolala It seems that holding the power button until he says "bluetooth modo has been open" is one way.... also... it seems that holding the EQ/FM button for a long time also results in "bluetooth modo has been opened" so... try holding the EQ/FM button and then after he tells you "now is radio modo" hold it again and see if you can pair with that bluetooth modo being open. ;)
@thismyusername Hey plug the cable (3.5mm audio) back in then pull it out, I think that there must be a switch in there that might be getting stuck, mine wouldn't power up or pair or anything, I tried it with the cable and when I pulled the cable again it would power up again.
@thismyusername Thanks!!! the cable thing didn't work, but I poked it a q-tip with the cotton removed and it works! It even got the fm radio working. Only plays classical music though.
Yeah I got mine today and im kinda dissapointed that they are 2.1 after being marketed as 3.0. They have decent sound quality but the same lag as my old in ear headset. They also seem to studder up every once in a while but its only when I get my phone usage high on something like vnc with music. I feel lied to.
@MrGlass Oh neat. I can't wear these more then 15 minutes at work before my ears hurt. I'm wearing glasses and they push on the top of my hear cause they don't extend out enough.
I received mine today. I ordered the white version, on purpose, even though all three colours were available at the time - because I am apparently the only person on this planet who still likes white electronics.
Like others, I received a non-matching black audio cable and the wrong type of USB cable.
It had some charge already, so I was able to turn it on right away and pair it with my iPhone and Mac (not at the same time). The iPhone even showed the amount of battery remaining in the headphones. I enjoyed the voice prompts. I’ve tried all of the buttons and none of them have broken yet for me. Headband is also fine so far, although one side was a little difficult to get it to telescope, and I was worried about breaking it, but I eventually got it to telescope without damage. The ear pads are surprisingly big despite being an on-ear headphone. Build quality feels totally cheap all over, but what do you expect? The idea that someone would pay $100+ for this is laughable.
Like @thismyusername, I also hear a constant hissing noise whenever Bluetooth is connected. I’m amazed others haven’t mentioned this, as it is quite loud and it seems unlikely to only be certain units affected. I predict that this will drive me crazy.
When I plug in the audio cable to do a wired connection, the hiss disappears completely and it works great. I am curious as to whether it requires battery power in this mode, although I don’t have a way to test that now.
The sound quality is not terrible (when using the audio cable), but it is noticeably worse than my Sony MDRZX100 (also white), which I got for under $20 - I am no audiophile. For that reason, I won’t be using this for listening to music, but maybe it is suitable for video games or something.
After pairing and unpairing it with various devices a few times, I must have managed to confuse it; it seems to have gotten stuck in a sort of permanent non-responsive discoverable mode, where the light blinks red and blue, but will not pair with anything, will not play any audio (not even over a wired connection), and will not power off no matter how long I hold the power button. I suppose I’ll just have to let it sit there, blinking, until the battery runs out. I’m guessing whatever software runs inside this thing has frozen or crashed. The battery doesn’t seem to be easily removable. Does anyone know of some incantation to force a hard reset?
@kolala It just automatically showed the battery meter up top in the status bar, after pairing it. It was a vertical rectangle next to the Bluetooth logo.
@dmdeller I have decided these will be my lawn mowing headphones, I seriously doubt i will hear the hum/hiss over my mower. ;) I am a real fan of the voice prompts... they might be worth the $14 on their own. I dont think it needs power when using the cable, I suspect this is the real cause of the hum/hiss... I think they might have taken some short cuts when it comes to how they mingled the cord and the bluetooth module.
@MrGlass Nope. I just left it blinking overnight and when I checked it in the morning, it wasn't blinking, and it powered on and worked normally after that (it didn't run out of battery, as far as I could tell).
These aren't half bad, I was nervous with how frail and light they are but the sound is decent. They'll be perfect to wear around the house and for yard work and stuff... I however won't be touching any buttons
i got these to use with my pstv in the bedroom when streaming from the ps4 while wife is asleep. they paired to the pstv just fine, but no audio. i finally realized i needed to be 2 feet away and line of site of the pstv.
Wow, these are utterly and totally crap. Good, job, Meh, for selling something that is probably only worth -- to me -- about a third of what I paid. Actually, I wouldn't even buy 'em for $5. Sure glad I didn't pay more than $14!
The constant hiss, yep, I've noticed it with bluetooth too. They're terribly uncomfortable, and the build quality is utterly crappy. Plus, the protective film actually left a bunch of residue after peeling it off. Counterproductive, much?
Oh well. First totally useless piece of crap from Meh (though also the most expensive), so I can't be too disappointed!
Edit: but they aren't actually that terrible when wired. Edit 2: Oops... and I definitely just cracked something trying to plug in the charging cable...
Bought two pair, neither work right, problems different. One pair right side only works if smashed against head with hand. Other happily announces it is paired but doesn't play music. Meh doesn't seem to have time to respond.
My experience after almost a day of use: First, what others have said. The buttons are super crappy and tend to get stuck. There is also the pronounced buzz/hum & minor audio weirdness (pops etc) whenever bluetooth mode is on. I ran into both of these problems almost immediately, but they weren't a big deal for me, because there are much bigger issues with these headphones.
I tried to use them for my commute this morning. The popping/skipping got bad while walking (with my phone about 2 feet away in a breast pocket of my jacket), to the point where I had trouble listening to an audio podcast. I also had my the bluetooth disconnect completely on me, twice. This was during just 3 minutes of walking (I live a block from the train station).
Once I got on the train, they seemed to even out a bit. Still had a hum, but pretty much as I expected. Then, after about 10 minutes, they completely locked up. The hum changed a little, I stopped getting audio from my phone, and I can't get em to turn off or do anything but glow blue and hum. Thankfully I had prepared for total failure & pulled out my backup jlab earbuds.
I have to say, this is the first time I'm actually disappointed in a meh purchase. I expected the poor build quality and the bad audio, but I experienced two different drastic failures (frequent disconnects & a completely lockup of the device) in just 15 minutes. These things are useless to me as corded headphones, which seems like all they are capable of.
@MrGlass Unfortunately I have had almost exactly the same issues. Started off acceptably mediocre and crappy with a quick slide to partial then total bluetooth failure. My charge cord also doesn't fit correctly and can't charge for more than a few minutes without requiring a wiggle or two...
@MrGlass me too these headphones are not even worth5 bucks, the right ear volume also broke, and horrible sound quality and sucky everything. cant believe it was sold out, wish i came later
@bacon4jason "A: If it's damaged, defective, or just DOA, we'll either refund or replace it at our discretion. Just fill out our support form and tell us all about it. We DO NOT accept returns if you just decided you didn't want it, don't like the color, or just feeling a little buyer's remorse. You might try eBay - with as cheap as you probably got it, you could even end up making a little off it. Or hone your reputation for generosity by giving it to someone a little less picky."
@bacon4jason That was Meh's ploicy. I doubt Toccs support would do anything, other than maybe replacing. Given how many people are having these same problems in the forums, I'd want a refund from meh
Maybe all of you should email the official TOCCS rep: "If you guys have any questions or concern... feel free to email me at Imelda@toccs.com so I can help put your mind at ease."
Paired easy and I was able to go across my apartment from my phone without any issues. I have the EQ adjusted on the Spotify app, so quality is decent. The low end and bass frequency comes through without distortion, just not enough highs. Might do more adjusting with the internal EQ.
I think the buzzing that some people are hearing might be a grounding issue, which makes sense that it goes away when it is plugged into the jack (connection seated loose or weak soldering). I was ready to pull them apart an fix/tweak any bugs, but nothing yet. If I do take them apart, I'll do a full tear-down with pictures.
was about what i expected for a 14 dollar BT headset(black version). everything seemed to work ok until i took a call with it connected. now i too am experiencing the deadlock of blinking red and blue and the buttons do nothing. tried holding each one individually for 10+ seconds and also multiple combinations. guess i have to wait for the battery to run down now...
Got mine today and I could not be more disappointed. The overall feel is cheap and flimsy. When connected via the 3.5mm cable only the right ear works. Volume buttons on headset don't work. It did connect via bluetooth and have volume in both ears but had a noticeable hiss.
The big issue however, is that they broke after 30 minutes of use. Loud rapid beeping is the only thing coming from these things. Unpaired it from my phone, nothing. Tried turning them off, nothing. The light wont come on anymore either. So I put it in the car so I don't have to listen to them anymore. Hopefully after I recharge them they will work. If not, I expect a refund for a faulty product. Meh or not, this is unacceptable.
@alose They wont respond to any button presses at all. Just the loud annoying beeping. Once the battery dies it might be able to reconnect etc. If not then a refund is in order.
So far, so meh for me. Bluetooth pairing went without a hitch. Been rocking some Bruno Mars for about 20 minutes, no issues. Walked about 20 ft away from my phone into another room, no issues. The sound quality sucks, haven't tried to compensate via the phone's equalizer yet. I have a ginormous dome so they look very silly on me - I'm sure the neighbors will laugh when I'm cutting the grass with these on. They're probably worth closer to $10 but hey, cheer up suckers, it's Meh!
Certainly not great, but it beats being tangled in a cord when moving around. There is a problem with popping and hissing in the background, but I apparently lucked out and got all my cables. Bluetooth hookup was smooth.
All in all, everything is working okay...SO FAR. (cue ominous music)
I got my headphones yesterday so I wanted to post my experience so far: Bluetooth pairing was simple. Sound quality is meh, but I wasn't expecting much. I used these on a bus last night because I was bored and wanted to listen to something, not because I wanted to have a great audiophile experience, so they delivered. I listened for about an hour and the battery still has power, so that's a plus. My biggest complaint is the placement of the buttons. A few times I turned it off or on without meaning to. Bottom line - for $8 these delivered way more than I anticipated.
My impression: Construction feels flimsy and cheap, but they haven't broken so far. Bluetooth paired fine and I had not problem with it working while my phone was in my pocket. Sound quality and mic are very middle of the road. Included USB cable, but the cable is broken and can't be used to charge. Over the ear is a joke, these wouldn't fit over an infants ears. All in all about what I'd expect from $14
Spent about an hour getting bluetooth to work. Turns out the connection is quite weak. As in turning my head while I'm looking at my paired phone will break the connection. Might disassemble to tinker with but not sure how practical they will be.
Well Laadiefrick'nda. While paired with my laptop transmitting some tunes for the past 2 hours, the headset froze and now only emits a never-ending, annoying tone (no, I wasn't pressing any buttons on it, and none appear to be stuck). It's not my laptop because I can still connect to other Bluetooth devices. It's gotta be the headset itself because no other Bluetooth device can pair with it. If this headset had a screen, I'm imagining it would be showing a BSOD. And since the battery isn't removable, I just have to wait till the battery drains to see if the thing resets itself... @TOCCSREP, what are the hoops required to make use of this 90 day warranty?
@distractedriver I had the same issue. Put them on a pillow and tossed it into my car. After charging it this morning they work like before. Haven't had this specific issue crop up again but feel like these headphones have another date with the pillow in the car soon enough.
Has anyone actually attempted to fold these? The build quality is so poor that I don't want risk trying. I'm also getting the hiss mentioned above and a non functioning USB cable. In order to get it to charge, using my own cable, I really have to jam the plug in and apply pressure so that it's slightly angled. These are pretty bad...
@distractedriver oh... i see the ear muffs fold in... the "folding" incarnations I keep seeing are the ones that fold at the top of the headband. Thanks now these will take up much less space laying in my garage.
So far so good. The pairing took a couple of tries but now pairs easy. So far, I have only used them to listen to Howard Stern and they have worked very well for that. I am not a fan of the buttons placement, I have actually skipped forward a few times by accident but these have worked well for what I purchased them for.
Pros: - You get what you pay for. - You get to hear a funny accent every time you pair the device.
Cons: - Uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour (more than likely less then even that) but this was mentioned in the description. - The right and left are backwards - Constant buzzing when using BlueTooth - Shows up as two devices in Windows 8.1. When I try to play sound over the wrong one it crashes and disconnects the headphones. - They sound meh. - Buttons are terribly designed - Doesn't extend out enough to fit on my hears. Because of this they push on the top of my ear. This is very uncomfortable and even more so if you wear glasses.
Anyways, for $14 these aren't utter shit.. Just not worth using if you have anything better. I bought three of them and will have people use them when they come over to game and forget a headset. Haven't received the other two yet, but will most likely reply back to this if anything is different than above.
@Skylord123The right and left are backwards - I noticed this! I now wear them the other way around. I also only use the power button because the others do seem to stick. I also couldn't get them working with Windows 7 (mainly just lost interest trying to make them work). I did use them walking around my house, doing chores, with them sync'd to my Fire HDX. So far, some use.
I figured out what the SD card is for! You need to have your SD card formatted with fat32. Then, just put some MP3s on the SD card and place it in the headphones, and press the EQ/FM button, which will activate the elusive "Now is TF Modo"
This was my first Meh purchase... I've been looking for a cheap pair of over-ear BT headphones so these seemed perfect on paper. I received them this week. Bluetooth paired fine, even though it's BT 2.1 and not the advertised BT 3. Volume buttons don't work at all... In fact none of the buttons I've tried work aside from the power on/off function. I'm OK with them being pretty crappy quality with not great sound. That's what I expected from TOCCs and from a $14 pair of headphones. But I'm concerned that they aren't what was advertised and they don't have all of the functionality that was promised :( I could forgive one or the other, but a broken product that doesn't match what was advertised is pretty disappointing.
google translate: I bought two, arrived today. One operates normally all the features, but one can not be everything is working. Bluetooth connectivity, but the sound does not work. Switching to FM mode the radio does not hear the sound, do not appear to enter into a volume switch because it broke. It is only one action that you connect the audio cable to the sound I hear.
Finally got mine today. First of all these are NOT the TOCCs Manhattan Foldable 3.0 Bluetooth headphones. I believe these are actually the Tempo model. The box said they were USB 2.1, but their website says 3.0. They do in fact fold, but they feel as though they will break if you fold too many times. I love the way it hisses during the moments between softly played notes - as though the headphones are trying to lull me to sleep with its hypnotic white noise. I guess that's why they are made with the CVC 6.0 noise canceling outer shell. How else could we enjoy the hiss if the outer shell did not block out the external sounds?
Maybe I will hit the Meh button more often instead of the "buy it" button. USB 3.0. USB 2.1. Tempo/Manhattan. Yeah. $14. Still not a good buy.
Man, good to know I didn't get dud's mine wont even charge... I'll have to try the "plug/unplug" trick. I just want crappy wireless headphones to bike at the gym with!
@krikor The wont charge issue can also be that the included usb cable is broken, try charging it with a cable you already own. The plug/unplug headphone port trick seems to toggle some switch in there that gets stuck, user kolala used a q-tip with the cotton broken off to reset the stuck switch.
@christine403 they might be doing you a favor? heheh contact them at https://meh.com/support if you haven't already... and support is backed up so expect a delay in response.
@thismyusername haha ya I know right? I already did a week ago and they said just sit tight. Was just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat. If I could opt out of this buy I totally would. The most dissapointing to me is it doesn't even sound like people are getting what was advertised. Meh.
@christine403 "just sit tight" that sounds ominous, here is hoping you don't get a case of them ;) They are pretty underwhelming, if they offer your money back I would jump on it.
@christine403 Well, I am dealing with the support at TOCCs, and waiting for a replacement. I was told the red ones are out of stock, and that it would be at least 14 days before they would ship.
I got a pair of these instead of my Foscam cameras I ordered and one was DOA with broken buttons (including the power one). Since they were essentially freebies, I cracked it open to see inside. Mine was either a refurb or their build process sucks (or both). Looks like the battery has been replaced. The FM antenna is literally a piece of copper foil tape soldered to a wire (and on mine, was free-floating, meaning if it brushed up on metal components of the board, it could cause grounding issues or shorts). There are a total of 6 smd side-mount momentary switches (of which 3 of mine are broken), looks like 3x6x3.5mm in size. I ordered a pack of 50 off ebay for about $5, thinking I'd try to fix my broken ones to at least amuse myself with the Engrish phrases. Only then did I notice a smd capacitor stuck to the foam tape on the battery. Curious, I looked over the board with a magnifying glass ... at least two caps are missing and possibly one resistor. I'm sure this build quality surprises no one that actually bought these.
Maybe I can talk my gf into letting me take her pair apart for a comparison and to identify the missing components on mine. I'm in for $5, there's no going back now.
seems like everyone is having the same problem with the label just being created and not receiving the order..has anyone noticed that the in the my orders page the order is now missing? or is it just me..
Not sure what happened, but a while last week and there was an order showing...tracking number with order pending... I clicked the "I need help with this" button and sent a note asking what was up. I have a $42 charge to Meh on my credit card for the three headphone sets I ordered... Now the order is no longer showing in my history but I'm still out $42. More than meh, I'm mad. So what happened?
@WaferboymC I just checked and my order is gone too. No credit in my bank account though. Came here to see what was up? I really hope the credit is just delayed and I get my money back!
@WaferboymC That is really weird and should definitely be taken care of. Maybe @JonT can help look into it - and you guys should absolutely write back in to meh.com/support.
@JonT thanks for the quick feedback. I appreciate the resolution of this issue. I am disappointed that I was the one to point out the problem as well as my order disappearing from the website. But in the end I'm a forgiving guy. So I'll get over it. MEH ON!
So I got an email explaining how Meh Fu$#ed up royally and that all my hard earned dough would be returned and they were even throwing in some crappy earbuds for free. After reading all of the crappy reviews all I can say is THANK YOU MEH!
If anyone have the same problem i have; the button is stuck and and there's no sound. Use the included cord. It works but it's no longer wireless. :/ but it works! :)
@shaine228 Not that you should risk your precious TOCCs, but its been said that a q-tip with the cotton removed on one end shoved into that cord plug gently might toggle the stuck switch. Just sayin' I am not responsible if you loose corded functionality as well.
Pairing it has been hit or miss. Sometimes it takes 5 or 6 times to actually pair it with my laptop. I follow the instructions by holding the button in and I select to connect it on my laptop but there is no certainty that it will work. Sound is decent. Overall I would say that $14 may be a tad high for the quality, $109 is an absolute joke.
.......not even worth it even if it was free, seriously all it is is just a case of a headphone with some earpads on it, not even good enough to keep your ears warm. product: piece of crap

@mediocrebot were on living social for $41 including shipping http://www.dealsoff.com/manhattan-over-ear-bluetooth-headphones-for-35/
@mediocrebot it was $35 + $6 at living social in november https://www.livingsocial.com/products/us/tag/electronics/104348-manhattan-over-ear-bluetooth-headphones
@mediocrebot I love purple.
@communist I think that was plus $5.99 s/h at livingsocial
@cengland0 fixed :P
z
@mediocrebot Not the /highly reputable/ TOCCs brand, but here is a generic version that appears to be identical for $19.99: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Foldable-High-Fidelity-Surround-Sound-Noise-Canceling-Wireless-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headphone-Headset-With-Mic-TF-Card/1980402824.html
@communist Notice how some colors "magically" change design in the pics yet none really match the pics here. These are shape-shifting a "meh" zing headphones!
The box says over-ear but they look like on-ear...
@wa27 What if I have very small ears?
@tonycolorado That means u r not an elf...
@wa27 I believe they are "over ear." Here's a pic where they give a sense of scale.
@andrewpatrick Are those 2x3s or 2x4s? A picnic table... How do we know it is not a child size picnic table? This is a terrible sense of scale!
@phatmass Better than a plain white background. Anyway I wouldn't touch this deal with a 10 foot pole, given that there is not one review of TOCCs headphones on the internet, except a few on YouTube of their earbuds.
@andrewpatrick should have included a banana for scale
@phatmass That's a tree behind the black one so these are a lil' bit wider than a tree trunk. The logos and colors don't exactly match but rest assure that these are the same size as the "meh" ones (no one makes cheap knock-offs of cheap knock-offs).
@iggy71
@airjer That left hand gesture sure is "special". lol Also curious about the story behind the exclamation point at his feet directly between his legs based on his facial expression. :O
@andrewpatrick Just got these today from Meh, and they're preeeetty terrible for music. Podcasts though... sure, they're fine.
yeah, so pretty much meh.
@yozman awesome gag gift!
Ear speaker docks!
@Cinoclav Speaker docks rock. I have proof.
@Cinoclav <3 stop being so clever
@unixrab Oddly enough, I didn't think I was all that amusing.
@Cinoclav no...that was a good one. I wish I'd thought of it. Perhaps going forward "speaker-docks" can be a suffix for every sucky thing ? I'll think on it. But again.. very nice!!
@unixrab So from now on you will be known as Mr. Speak Dock.
@cengland0
Still trying to figure out how this TOCCS brand stays in business with extremely overpriced products that end up on Meh shelves..........
@Stallion What does TOCCS stand for and why does their google map location also indicate that they are the home of Restaurant Depot? Can you eat these headphones or at least use them to eat other things (like salad tongs)?
@iggy71
@iggy71 The real company at that address is Fulfullment Works LLC, everybody else using that address is a customer of theirs.
Brought to you from those fine folks that make self imploding charging/sync cables.
This makes all mankind cry... and aliens...they avoid the planet because of things like this.. and also the LACK of "IT DEPENDS" on the survey... I blame @joelmw and @lisaviolet and @thumperchick and @ ... @.... @... crap... @cengland0 YOU ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS
@unixrab Responsible for what? Offering a good product at a decent price? Did you buy one, two, or three?
@unixrab bro you gotta chill
AND!! for @lisaviolet... TAKE IT GURL!
@cengland0 your definition of "good' baffles me
@communist k mang
@unixrab archer.gif goat meltdown round two?
@unixrab Let's see. 594 sold in the first 11 minutes. I think others agree with me. I suspect this product will sellout.
@cengland0 yeah.... sellout at <2000 .......... I "sold out" ketchup popsicles in Alaska... I had 4. They totally sold out...
@unixrab Specially for you.
@VeeDubTDI I so hope
@joelmw ya got 23ish more days dude. don't wish for sumthin you can't deal with
you are mistaken
the currency exchange rates

@unixrab Just got back from an advanced screening of The Wedding Ringer...loved it! Very funny...and just for kicks...
@unixrab How many thing have you sold 600+ of? Your or your relatives bodies don't count.

@cblack speaka da inglish
@lisaviolet omg i love your lisaviole{nce}.. (hannibal lector inhale)
@Alien ...... noted.
@unixrab I didn't do a damned thing!
@Thumperchick sorry... this deal is to much meh guilt for one goat to handle... you all must bear a bit of the shame of this crappy deal
@unixrab this deal sold out. I'd say that speaks to its worthiness. But hey, hate it if you want, just leave my @ out of it.
@Thumperchick
No purple? Doesn't seem to be baby arm compatible.
I love purple.
@heartny it has a dinosaur RAWR!
14 dollars for these beats by dre knock offs? with a quoted tag thats on par with the beats? cute like the price tag of those toccs 10 foot cables
Are these any good?
@maynerd It depends.
@maynerd Good for throwing away. But I was in for one
All the pictures are stock photos. Where is the baby arm?
@aaronhardman99 That is Brandy's hand and iPhone and a T-Rex plastic toy that is apart of our decor.
$14? These would have been a sure thing for Christmas stocking stuffers, then again its only 350 days away......
Has anyone found a single review of these things?
@Fej None whatsoever. I can't even find a review on a third party site.
@RachelDanger27 Wait a couple of weeks and come back here and there will be plenty. It won't be pretty...unless you really don't care about sound quality much but are a fan of "beats" stylin' lookin' to try to impress UR homies. lol
@iggy71 Aren't Beats customers more fans of "beats" stylin' then sound quality? Then this is the perfect knock-off.
@DeuceSevin Sure but there's a difference between acceptable quality and poor quality (sound and build) or however you want to grade the two.
@RedOak Says lasts up to 8 hours on one charge.
@cengland0 was wondering about the other end of the gambit, the phone, even if the phone has BT 4.0.
What's wrong with these headphones? What's right with these headphones? No. Seriously.
@MehAmphetamine whats right is that its CHEAP very CHEAP. whats bad is that like no one sells this so no reviews avalible anywhere
@communist I wonder if these are exclusive "Made for meh" headphones?
From the description: "Smallish ear pads might be uncomfortable on your ears if you wear them..."
for more than 1 song with glasses on.
@alacrity ew?
@Kyser_Soze <3
I've been looking for a half-decent pair of Bluetooth headphones with a good call mic for some time. For the price, I'm willing to give these a shot. If they fit the bill for me, to whom do I owe a delicious beer for making this happen?
@rschauer skip them and get the motorola s305
@pngwyn For more than twice the price?
@pngwyn Thanks for the suggestion, but no thanks on yet another behind-the-head style. I am done with those.
Can I tape a lower case 'b' on the sides and look really really cool then?
@Psymac an upside down 6 could give you the same effect.
@Psymac No, but you can make them look like beats
@Psymac You can just tape over the side of the headset and roll like an NFL player.
Does it have built in microphone?
@mamaweeks yes
@mamaweeks no
@phatmass Not funny, from the mouth of meh: "Built-in mic and call-answering functionality"
They're TOCC so probably don't actually work... but would would be perfect for snowboarding if they do.
monstrous-enticing-act
@heli0s I think most are buying them to convince others they are listening to music and look stylish. Just put them on and start shuffling.
@heli0s that cosplay is amehzing!
@andrewpatrick I don't believe it's any of those. It's the manhattan. Here's the link. https://toccs.com/headphones
Ordered one anyway. If something isn't right I can just complain to the @TOCCSREP person hiding in the forums here.
temperate-handy-parsley
Horrible reviews for this brand. http://www.webutation24.org/go/review/toccs.com
@mghostsoft most were reviews on cables or complaints about shipping costs, etc. Anyone have any luck finding reviews on this actual product?
@steigst there was a complaint about their bluetooth speaker as well, so the headphones might have similar reception issues... something about this stinks, I'm gonna stay away from this deal
@mghostsoft Horrible Reseller Ratings too: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/TOCCs
@phatmass looks like Toccs was getting ripped apart on resellerratings in November. So in December they woke up and planted several fake looking 5-star reviews.
@mghostsoft @phatmass @steigst @RedOak Hey guys thanks for the feedback.
@TOCCSREP it is amazing that most of the 5 star reviews happen on the same day as at least one other 5 star review. Not coincidental at all.
Includes 3.5mm headphone cable so the kids can use these as a gaming headset with the Wii U I recon.
@ruouttaurmind You recon? What a coincidence; I surveil!
@ruouttaurmind I observe what you did there.
No idea about the quality but at $14 they're practically disposable anyway. I'm down for one.
Do these work for all types of music?
@lonnyzone No, only music published by "Meh.com"
@lonnyzone everything but Zydeco.
@lonnyzone unfortunately when listening to post industrial ambient glitchcore you will get a faint feedback that resembles the cries of a million tortured souls burning in fiery brimstone. Other than that you are fine.
But... I just bought some bluetooth ones from the K-Mart deal! Oh well.
Hey guys, why such a short aux cable? Its only 3.5 mm? I have a 9foot one roght next to me. I guess I wont need it because its Bluetooth but come on. And you better not send me call of duty ones again.
@tuxtuxman Thanks for pointing that out. I'd read that as 3.5m.
@YahSah15 @tuxtuxman the 3.5mm is not the length of the cable, it's the diameter of the plug on the end of the cable.
@tuxtuxman lol, this is such a funny comment
8th meh of the year!
@armchair But its only the 8th day of the year! That would mean you... oh, never mind.
I sure hope to @cengland0 's god that ANYONE who criticizes and/or complains about this offering is a #$^*&^%$ VMP member
@unixrab So, let's say I believe you. Can you point to one non-Fuku (because everyone loves the Fuku before it shows up) item you like?
@dashcloud Yes. I believe that the AOC Monitors did not suck and I wanted to purchase them, but .... then I went to the order screen and there was no paypal button. meh
@unixrab Sorry your credit is so bad that you cannot get a credit card. You could probably still qualify for a debit card if you can open up a checking account somewhere.
@cengland0
you zinged me again... I have been zinged
@unixrab @cengland0 I kinda wanna be the Meh Jimmy Carter and broker peace between the two of you.
@ruouttaurmind @cengland0 is correct. Old Friends who rib each other and don't see eye to eye on many things except chess and old BBS file sharing via 9600 Baud and the unix operating system being superior to all other operating systems combined. ... maybe. ;-)
@unixrab @ruouttaurmind I used to run one of the larges BBS's in Florida with 6 lines and many multiplayer doors.
@ruouttaurmind They were state of the art SCSI drives that had a 1:1 sector interleave and cost $2,600 each. This is back around 1994 or 1995.
@cengland0 @unixrab Ha... nerds... Seriously though, this is bringing back some great memories
@capguncowboy @cengland very true.... except he hated losing to me in chess. ... which was often. ;-)
I don't know how people wear these big ass headphones at the gym. They make your ears all sweaty! Lol
@shaine228 And they make you look like a prentious douchebag that has more money than good sense too.
@Headly you can just say "@cengland0" we all know
Well I was gonna buy Georgia Red, but looks like it's not available...

Meh. I wouldn't use these even if I was a stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerfherder!
@Headly VMP approved complaint @cengland0
@phatmass A clothing company already beat you to the punch, they are called Jos. A. Bank.
@jseay65 well played, sir... well played indeed.
@alacrity
@jseay65
at $14, if they don't work or fit too tight- they're perfect for any rodents in the family as a "WOW-ish" gift... If they do fit, work and sound good- yay.
$14 on red. Wish me luck...
@beerandhotwings done...
@Psymac Red is sold out.
@Psymac meh. always bet on black.
@Headly I think the saying is, never bet against black.
I love purple.

@ChunkyBitz sounds sticky
I'll wait for the Meh themed TOCCs bluetooth headphones :D
@rileyper In for one
@rileyper and those will be free to VMP's!
only whites now? should have checked earlier..

Too late for the good colors. Who wears white ones? No one. That's why that's all that's left.
@jennafer74 Da eff? White is where it's at!
@jennafer74 You snooze you lose. But I think the white ones are cute. I almost got a pair, but decided on two blacks and a red instead.

went real fast to all those resellers in california lol
@meh or, you know, the fact that it's the #1 most populous state.
@Collin1000 We're number one! We're number one! We're number one!
@Collin1000 @meh or maybe that it's only 9PM there when the deal hits?
I have a semi-stupid question…
Is there someway to get this to work with my TV? Such as, is there a bluetooth adapter I can plug into my audio out port and broadcast to these headphones? My IR wireless headphone crapped out a couple of months ago, and I've (obviously very slowly) been looking for a replacement. (TIA.)
@haydesigner YES. what you want is BT transmitter, such like: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IK9UZXA?psc=1
@username that thing costs more than the headphones, Meh please sell one of these gadgets next kthx
Excellent @username, thank you so much! I didn't know what it was I was looking for, and now I know the path of my journey. :-D
And yes @Meh, what @Collin1000 just said ;-)
And yes, I know how dumb I sound by not figuring out what @haydesigner needed was a "Bluetooth Transmitter."
@Collin1000 Interestingly...ok maybe not that interesting and certianly not all that helpful...meh did sell the opposite of what you want a while back...
https://meh.com/forum/topics/bluetooth-home-connect-audio-receiver
@haydesigner If the bluetooth doesn't work (which is likely) I plan on using these with my Roku 3, plugging them into the remote. So that will work, but so will any headphones and you have to have a Roku3
Also a good idea, @DeuceSevin! I actually do have a Roku 3, but I also have an AppleTV, and I like that much better. Still, a viable alternative, at least perhaps for the short term. Thanks!
Oh, and cloying-logical-ramen
@haydesigner omg, now I want ramen baadd.
Oh god no. The worst earphone purchase I have ever made ever ever ever ever was from TOCCs. They were $6 and that was about $12 too expensive. Having heard the crackle and fuzz when I plugged them into my iphone I was wondering if they'd damaged the phone!
Gotta "meh" this one, sorry.
@edheil I feared as much. I'm glad I happened by Meh.com too late tonight and they were already sold out, otherwise my VMP membership may have overrulled my common sense.
Do I spy a TF (MicroSD) card slot in the pictures? Does this mean I can play music from a memory card directly in the headphones?
@a yes, good catch, http://www.dx.com/c/consumer-electronics-199/memory-cards-111/microsd-tf-card-117
So, the description says "Manhattan" but the images are of the "Tempo" model. What gives?
@katlandreth those would be the Tempe, AZ model but they misspelled it. Everyone in Tempe who wanted them, bought them. Same guts, renamed. Now on to the Northeast....
@katlandreth Manhattan is the city that never sleeps, so they don't whine about midnight being past their bedtime.
I've gotta tell you that I've just cancelled my order, Meh. THAT word "14 bucks" did something to me just in a second! I had to look in to my credit card bill for more than 10 seconds just to be sober. Well played, Meh.
By the way, I found what appears to be an identical (except for TOCCs branding) generic version of these for $19.99
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Foldable-High-Fidelity-Surround-Sound-Noise-Canceling-Wireless-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headphone-Headset-With-Mic-TF-Card/1980402824.html
@a Those generic ones are bluetooth 2.1 and the ones on Meh are 3.0
@a interesting find... via the massive Alibaba group in China, and Yahoo partner. Certainly could be an earlier version of these headphones, perhaps even from the same plant.
@cengland0 Or so it is claimed.
@sparkle_motion You can still use the aux cable...
How can I get red instead of white?
@tjsahluwalia Travel back in time.
@tjsahluwalia Put on rose colored glasses.
@tjsahluwalia
@SSteve travel back in time to 12:10, a couple minutes after I came to my senses and cancelled my order for Red.
I love purple.
I love purple.
I'm kind of a sucker for headphones. I have a good set, but emergency kickarounds with Bluetooth and plug in audio cable? In for 2(sad that I missed out on the reds).
@Dash Would probably buy again for purple Irk edition.
I love purple.
My first question for any kind musical reproduction would be ," what is the frequency response?". Clearly these are not about sound. Kind of like wearing sunglasses on your head.
@crocetti Prolly [2.0 × 10-5] to .02 "meh" ga hurts
For the price, I'll roll the dice.
Blech sold out.
so much for that jibber jabber.
lol the simple question whether we needed it or not was halarious, made me laugh
was watching this since it popped up. figured "okay. I have 2 dollars in my 'meh.com gift card.' If these haven't sold out by tomorrow, I'll transfer funds and buy the damn white ones." Whelp, that's the end of that chapter.
I love purple.
WTF... barely listed, and all sold out. did you have 5 sets?
@Mandamm Sold 1,697 sets and sold them all in 2 hours, 2 minutes.
@vrillusions
I was able to get 1. Anyone know if this will work on PS4?
@eureca it should, the ps3 supported most bluetooth headsets
I don't get most of the jokes in here, but I laugh anyways to feel included. Also, 14 headphones? Hell yes. I'm assuming they're shite but on the of chance they aren't it's worth the buy. And if they are, it's only $14, not a big deal.
@Aniahlator you have to hang around for a while. I still don't get most of the crap posted here.
I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of disappointed people just like with the lightning cables :O
@airjer You'd be luckier to get struck by lightning than to get a decent pair of headphones in this "deal". Ok, ok...I'm exaggerating now (about the lightning odds part).
@airjer I think there will be just a few disappointed people. Most of us have set our expectations low on these.
@DeuceSevin Lol, good point.
@airjer you're never disappointed when you have...
Why does Meh start at midnight when the east coast is asleep? Wouldn't it be reasonable to start at Noon when east and west coasts are available?
@mjdelman servers wouldn't be able to handle a noon or daytime flip. The midnight although sucks gives a smaller initial crowd to hit the servers. Maybe 6am EST would be another good time as it gives a smaller audience as well
@brdubb Majority of the U.S. is asleep at that time!
@mjdelman You'd still likely have missed it. It would have sold out in 10 minutes instead and crashed the servers in the process. I check meh just before going to sleep.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
I love purple.
I love purple.
I need a "This Meh is going to sell out alarm" Android app. Can't stay up until Midnight every night, but if I knew it was something worth while...
@xterraguy with ya man
Hey Meh, you did great with this product. Very proud of you for the sellout. Stellar job!
@phatmass
dat @phatmass
I have some kind of Bluetooth fixation. I seem to spring for anything Bluetooth that Meh sells. Had to have these for my collection. Got white; warn-plucky-bedbug.
I love purple.
Its really annoying to come to meh.com at 8 am and everything is already sold out. wtf. how can I even use my VMP membership? Y'all need to have another round of Meh at noon or something. Get with it meh. Stop letting me down.
@sarahtarah wrong.
@sarahtarah Maybe don't come at 8am?
@sarahtarah They post thier deals at 9pm PST.
WTH, Wyoming? What do you have against these headphones? Or what do you know that we don't?
@SirLouie Wyoming has the lowest population of all the states with an estimated population of 584,153 people.
@SirLouie Wyoming is looking pretty sharp on that map.
Has it been explained why the color mapping is not based upon sales as a % of population? The map seems kind of useless without that adjustment.
@SirLouie I wondered what was up with that myself. Looks like at least one person in the county next over from me ordered.
@cengland0 WTH, man? You're such a nerd. I like that about you.
@RedOak Was wondering this too, especially after looking through some of the older maps… definitely skew as one would predict, which makes them all fairly similar.
@SirLouie Cows don't wear headphones.
probably much like the "Beats by Dr Dra" I could buy in Cambodia last year for $15.. I passed then too
I bought one of these through Living Social. For the price it isn't horrible, but improvements could be made.
Pros:
Sounds quality is very good
Easy to pair
Controls are understandable
Cons:
Too loud, others can hear my music clearly
Too bulky
Too tight

Mine came in today and I've been using them for the last couple of hours. For $14, they are great headphones. The sound quality out of the box can be a little flat, but if the device/app you're using has an EQ, it can sound really good. I'm pleasantly susurprised.
So... they came in today, charged pretty quickly, synced with my phone right off the bat, and then snapped in the center when I was trying to adjust them. C'est la vie.
Learn from my mistake and be extra gentle with these, or not, as the case may be.
@sinless I am now terrified I will sucumb to the same fate with mine as I have a rather fat head and will inevitably do the same.
@Tiamat114 you could try reinforcing the top center section. It's worth a shot.
@sinless Goldarn. Mine won't adjust on one side at all. Bullocks.
got mine today and it the volume button is already broken. :( now no sound is coming out. I suggest you use your phone's volume and try to not touch the buttons on the headset.
@shaine228 Same with mine-they are useless!
@Elox I just noticed that the box I received says Bluetooth 2.1 as well. However, that would only matter if they actually worked.
The USB cable that came with mine was a USB Micro-A, but the Charger port on the headphone is USB Micro-B (incompatible) Beware! Don't try to force that cable in... just use a different one.
@chinotoravon My USB cable was also incorrect.
So far so good... We'll see. Sound is decent, not great. Paired fine to a couple devices. Has an FM tuner - that's about impossible to find stations, but does work. Haven't tried the card slot yet.
Definitely for small heads
Best part--The voice prompts are in Engrish!
@bluebeatpete Mine paired quickly with android out of the box. I did get a chuckle when it told me the batteries were low and it was shutting down. It sounded like George Takei.
@mediobarkre Oh my!
@mediobarkre That is EXACTLY what it sounds like.
A tracking number hasn't shown up on mine yet. Did anyone get theirs without a tracking number? The status still says "Placed"
@ledieudufromage same here. No tracking and nothing has come. No reply to email asking why this is. Wondering. ..
@malextc4u Mine haven't shipped. Reading the reviews, is it wrong to hope my order gets cancelled??
Has this shipped to anyone yet? I'm still waiting to get a tracking number..... fidgety-fluctuating-copy
@malextc4u I got mine today.
(eta. i can't imagine people paying $100 for these)
@username I'm having the same problem. They're stuck on robo spaz mode and there's no way to turn them off. Maybe this hammer will help...
Oh man, these reports are bad enough that I'm sorry I didn't buy any, all over again. Because it's kind of funny.
@mossygreen Sorry? R U A masochist?
@iggy71 Sort of?
@lichme Have you tried tapping on the back of the cover? That got mine to come back out.
@tonylegrone Yep, tried that. It did get the button depressed, however the button itself doesn't function when pressed.
@lichme LOL funny that in their model picture shows the button stuck too! I just wrote them. Hopefully I get a replacement soon.
@lichme discovered that if you use the cord included it works!
It would have been nice if it had actually been sent to my house instead of 1300 miles away.
@thismyusername mine sounds like a cassette with no audio
@thismyusername mine do the hissing thing sometimes. It tends to stop after awhile most of the time. The bigger problem that I have is sound cutting out every so often, almost like the Bluetooth connection got dropped for a split second.
How do I pair it with bluetooth? Instructions says to hold play button for 5 seconds to pair. but it also says it turns off by holding the play button for 3 seconds.
I got it to pair once with my iphone but when it disconnected, it never wanted to pair again.
@kolala It seems that holding the power button until he says "bluetooth modo has been open" is one way.... also... it seems that holding the EQ/FM button for a long time also results in "bluetooth modo has been opened" so... try holding the EQ/FM button and then after he tells you "now is radio modo" hold it again and see if you can pair with that bluetooth modo being open. ;)
@thismyusername No luck. Tried holding each button for 3 minutes each but there's still no response
@tuxtuxman Sorry about that, it looks like there was a discrepancy between the website and box, @Moose promises he did not mean to lie to anyone.
Has anyone figured out what the sd card slot is for? I put an mp3 on one and popped it in, but cant figure out how to get playback
@MrGlass I think it may be for firmware updates.
@Skylord123 Figured it out! You need to have your SD fat32 formatted, and then it will play MP3s!
This would be easier to read if the Meh forums put more space in between paragraphs.
@dmdeller I'm in the same boat as you. It won't show up on my phone anymore. How did you get it to show the battery life?
@kolala It just automatically showed the battery meter up top in the status bar, after pairing it. It was a vertical rectangle next to the Bluetooth logo.
I like purple.
@dmdeller You ever figure out how to force a reset? Mine locked up about 15 minutes into my commute this morning.
@mzoltek are they whole bad? (rimshot)
These are awful...
i got these to use with my pstv in the bedroom when streaming from the ps4 while wife is asleep. they paired to the pstv just fine, but no audio. i finally realized i needed to be 2 feet away and line of site of the pstv.
nice
Those moments in life when you're exalted about having made the right decision to not order something just for the hell of it...
@davea510 same thing here with the audio only working on one side. and no response from meh yet.
My headphones arrived today. No cables, just the headphones. I hope they work.
Oh cool. The volume button is nonfunctional for me as well.
My experience after almost a day of use:
First, what others have said.
@MrGlass me too these headphones are not even worth5 bucks, the right ear volume also broke, and horrible sound quality and sucky everything. cant believe it was sold out, wish i came later
oh, and now it won't shut off... which I guess doesn't matter since it doesn't work.
Barootoof modo has been open. Hissssssssss......
Now is reedio moado. (actually kind of nice if the lowest volume could go any lower than... loud).
@johnamo The funny accent is the only redeeming thing about these headphones.
@MrGlass I agree.
...bad buy is all i can say, even if it was a dollar, does meh do returns?
@bacon4jason "A: If it's damaged, defective, or just DOA, we'll either refund or replace it at our discretion. Just fill out our support form and tell us all about it. We DO NOT accept returns if you just decided you didn't want it, don't like the color, or just feeling a little buyer's remorse. You might try eBay - with as cheap as you probably got it, you could even end up making a little off it. Or hone your reputation for generosity by giving it to someone a little less picky."
@bacon4jason I'm gonna give it another try before I completely write it off, after which I may contact supprt.
@MrGlass contact tocc's support or meh support?
@bacon4jason That was Meh's ploicy. I doubt Toccs support would do anything, other than maybe replacing. Given how many people are having these same problems in the forums, I'd want a refund from meh
@MrGlass "or replace it at our discretion"
@nadroj I know, but I'm hoping they've run out. Should probably wait for all the Fukus to ship so that the warehouse is cleared.
Maybe all of you should email the official TOCCS rep: "If you guys have any questions or concern... feel free to email me at Imelda@toccs.com so I can help put your mind at ease."
Received mine in the mail today, the black pair.
Correct cables, adjusts fine, buttons are fine.
@The_Baron Please do. The hissing is very annoying lol
"Brootoose modo hoss been open."
@Cloudscout Laughed so hard when I first heard this. When you hear that you know it's meh.
was about what i expected for a 14 dollar BT headset(black version). everything seemed to work ok until i took a call with it connected. now i too am experiencing the deadlock of blinking red and blue and the buttons do nothing. tried holding each one individually for 10+ seconds and also multiple combinations. guess i have to wait for the battery to run down now...
@deadlybunny thought i would also add that the engrish prompts were well worth the price of admission. 10/10 would buy again
@deadlybunny its worse. They didnt actually lie about the battery life. Have fun for 7+ hours
@docmatt1 I found that I had to unpair on my phone first to turn off the headset.
They're probably worth closer to $10 but hey, cheer up suckers, it's Meh!
these are the shittest headphones ever
the generic samsung earbuds that i got with my note 3 are far better
no bass, quality is absolute shit, wow...waste of money. (thats a period)
Five below might have a comparable pair for less.....
Certainly not great, but it beats being tangled in a cord when moving around. There is a problem with popping and hissing in the background, but I apparently lucked out and got all my cables. Bluetooth hookup was smooth.
All in all, everything is working okay...SO FAR. (cue ominous music)
I got my headphones yesterday so I wanted to post my experience so far:
Bluetooth pairing was simple.
@DeuceSevin But what about for $14?
@johnamo Forgot what I paid for them. Yeah, even for $14, no buyers remorse. If they are offered again, I'd probably get 2 more.
My impression:
Construction feels flimsy and cheap, but they haven't broken so far.
@docmatt1, I hope you're having better luck with your headset than me. 3 BSODs in 3 days.
@robgoal2000 I don't this incarnation of the AT BT-809 folds. But while searching for a manual I did run across a lot of other incarnations that do.
@thismyusername, it does. Just don't be surprised when it breaks like a dry piece of spaghetti after 1 too many times folding it.
Okay, so this is my review:
Pros:
- You get what you pay for.
- You get to hear a funny accent every time you pair the device.
Cons:
- Uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour (more than likely less then even that) but this was mentioned in the description.
- The right and left are backwards
- Constant buzzing when using BlueTooth
- Shows up as two devices in Windows 8.1. When I try to play sound over the wrong one it crashes and disconnects the headphones.
- They sound meh.
- Buttons are terribly designed
- Doesn't extend out enough to fit on my hears.
@Skylord123 The right and left are backwards - I noticed this! I now wear them the other way around. I also only use the power button because the others do seem to stick. I also couldn't get them working with Windows 7 (mainly just lost interest trying to make them work). I did use them walking around my house, doing chores, with them sync'd to my Fire HDX. So far, some use.
@The_Baron Good to know I am not the only one. I wonder if every pair is backwards.
I figured out what the SD card is for! You need to have your SD card formatted with fat32. Then, just put some MP3s on the SD card and place it in the headphones, and press the EQ/FM button, which will activate the elusive "Now is TF Modo"
@MrGlass omg I have to find a card to hear another phrase!!!! Toccs headphone phrases... gotta catch them all!
Mine came broken.
google translate:
I bought two, arrived today.
@twobears They are a Chinese brand headphone that was rebranded. I found a couple other companies that use the same model.
@thismyusername Awesome, i'll give that a shot too. Thanks!
anyone still waiting on theirs? Almost a month later and tracking still only says label has been created...?
@christine403 they might be doing you a favor? heheh contact them at https://meh.com/support if you haven't already... and support is backed up so expect a delay in response.
@thismyusername haha ya I know right? I already did a week ago and they said just sit tight. Was just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat. If I could opt out of this buy I totally would. The most dissapointing to me is it doesn't even sound like people are getting what was advertised. Meh.
@christine403 "just sit tight" that sounds ominous, here is hoping you don't get a case of them ;)
They are pretty underwhelming, if they offer your money back I would jump on it.
@christine403 Well, I am dealing with the support at TOCCs, and waiting for a replacement. I was told the red ones are out of stock, and that it would be at least 14 days before they would ship.
I like purple.
I am still waiting on mine. "Label has been created"... Not sure I want them after reading all the comments!! Meh
@emandjody ya I really would just like my money back at this point!
@emandjody Same here. I contacted Meh and they said NOPE, can't cancel. Meanwhile they are somewhere with a label created on the 19th
@shadowzen (slight white noise) BLUETOOTHS MODO HAS BEEN OPEN!
@shadowzen the free floating wire would explain why these work when I'm in bed but cant even stand up to a leisurely train ride
seems like everyone is having the same problem with the label just being created and not receiving the order..has anyone noticed that the in the my orders page the order is now missing? or is it just me..
@sssuh I recieved mine and I believe nearly everyone has recieved the order. Perhaps you may want tocontact halp?
@sssuh You should email help. Most people who ordered these received their headphones 3 weeks ago.
@sssuh And hope for a refund. You really don't want these headphones.
@barnabee i just got a refund confirmation. guess people who didnt receive the headphones are getting refunds :] thanks for the advice guys !
@WaferboymC I just checked my orders page and my headphone order has disappeared too. Checked my bank and I have received a $42 credit. Thanks Meh!
@WaferboymC you should have an email from us explaining what's going on now.
@kevin8er you will never know the joy of "BLUETOOTHS MODO HAS BEEN OPENED!" so sad.
Overall I would say that $14 may be a tad high for the quality, $109 is an absolute joke.
mine is not working, I tried to send email to manufacture several times they never response my email. how do I contact Meh?
@cdw2000 https://meh.com/support
Mine are total rubbish, too.
Perhaps we all join a class action suit against Meh.
.......not even worth it even if it was free, seriously all it is is just a case of a headphone with some earpads on it, not even good enough to keep your ears warm. product: piece of crap
@bacon4jason bluetooth modo has been open?
Just got one of these in my fuku #6. These reviews look pretty awful.
