There is a special place in hell for those who treat animals like trash. Hope it bites them in the ass so hard karma-wise that they can't ever sit down again.
@jaremelz I hope so too. I didn't mention earlier, but it was raining last night/this morning too, so the floor of the carrier was wet. :( And two more kittens were found hiding in the bushes.
@jaremelz Aww he loves them! Yeah I think loyalty and love should be rewarded. Weith your son that young, he probably gets all the attention and play that he needs. I have a couple of older dogs and I am not bringing any other animal in my house for a long time. Even if I foster or find a dog that I am only going to keep until I get a home for, my babies get the you've betrayed me look and act out until they're gone...lol. So I'm with you, let'em have peace and let ME have peace.
@mehbee Oh, sorry, I meant my baby boy cat, our rescue kitty. Well, he is like my child. PartyCat (the old guy) is really the most loving cat in the world, but he just isn't the type to enjoy a lot of other cats. He's a people cat.
@jaremelz I had two cats at one time, one was a lover and the other was a fighter..lol. Henry did everything possible to annoy Petey. When Petey finally had enough, my dog Sam would step in and referee it was a hoot.
@narfcake thank you for being there for them. A man after my own heart. Hopefully, they will have a chance for a better life now. Instead of with the douchebag who dropped them there. He/She can burn.
"Stay right here, precious kittehs. I'll just jog around the corner to get the car!" Minutes later... "I'm back, my little, furry babies!....Kitties?..."
I want security camera footage and a bow hunting license. Oopsie, that big brave f*h*d who dumped the kittens looked just like a 12-point buck. Shucky darn. He's not even good to eat. I think the saying is 'shoot, shovel and shut up'.
So sad. What adorable kitties. Mom too. Wondering who picks them up in your parts ? We have a shelter that is a public/private venture. But they won't pick up.
It's been a year and a half since I had to say my last goodbye to my furball. We've been talking about eventually adopting a pair of brothers. Were I the one to have found these little guys/gals, I'm quite sure I would not have been able to say no. Hoping they find wonderful humans to enjoy their lives with...
@narfcake, thank you for helping them out. Beautiful mom & kittens. I hope they all find good homes. I really hate when people abuse animals & I hope karma bites the asshole big time!
@narfcake, Thankfully, they look really good. I don't know who you had pick them up? But most rescue groups and shelters are so overwhelmed with kittens/cats there is no room for more. The local communities animals controls have no room either, they put down 60 to 90 percent of the felines brought to them. It's the truth. If you kept all those kittens and tried really hard to find good homes for all of them, you would fail. No one wants them. They are not going to go to good homes, most, if not all are going to be put down. Too many folks don't really like cats and some folks think cats are vermin and nuisance, useless creatures, not deserving of much kindness. Until, all the people that like cats make sure they spay and neuter all their cats period, and if they can do the same to the feral cats in their area, maybe not so many cats will be killed. In my area you can get your cats spayed or neuter for little or no money. It does take effort and time, I do it and I think it's worth it. Your caring , matters a lot. Follow the kittens you have tried to save, and see what happens to them. I look forward to your updates.
@ceagee yah, we used to have and love both. But allergies of a family member put a stop to the cats. And our dogs have been cock-a-poos. They're almost hypoallergenic. They shed less than us humans. Amazing family dogs too.
I'm not a fan of cats.. But leaving them penned up on the curb seems pretty bad. The person abandoning them could at least set them free so they have a chance!
But I do have a hard time getting outraged over the treatment of animals when there are so many people in the world who are being treated far worse. Also, I grew up eating my pets (cows, pigs, etc), so I learned not to get too strongly attached to them ;).
@ACraigL I remember having goats when I was little, but I don't recall eating them.. We ate our bunnies, chickens. ducks.. I don't remember eating the geese..
So who's better. The dude who left them on the corner so someone would find them, or the dude who called animal control so they can be euthanized? I don't see people getting worked up over cows dying. Why? They are not domesticated? They taste good? Or is it because cats have personality? Personality goes a long way.
@phatmass It was very clearly the dude who didn't neuter his cat, then abandoned that cat with her kittens. But that guy might just tie with the utter ridiculousness of your comment.
@phatmass So you are the guy who sees something like this and just says what, "fuck it, they aren't cows, not my problem"? Do you not see the utter ridiculousness of your words? Probably not, just as you won't get mine. Not every cat that goes to a shelter dies. We got our cats there, as did many other people. It is a far better alternative to leaving them out there, to face a certain hard time, especially with the coming weather. Not to mention the fact that they need to be taken in and fixed, so that they don't add to the problem. You see those faces and don't give two shits because you think that dealing with them means ignoring some bigger global problem. Others see those faces and think about doing what they can to help in a situation right before them. And it doesn't mean they don't care about a lot of other things.
@jaremelz@thumperchick@mfladd The right thing to do would be to take all the cats into their natural habitat and release them in the forests of Grand Prairie.
@narfcake Awesome! In my response up there, I had to truncate it for the sake of my sanity - you did the right thing. I'm stoked you have a responsive local shelter that helps pets find responsible furrever homes. You earned every one of your catshirts.woot today.
@Thumperchick The shelters here aren't perfect but at least they have a chance; there would have been none if left in the streets of an industrial area.
All I'm saying is if I was a cat, I'd rather live on the streets than go to a place where I have a 9/10 chance of dying. And I'm the bad guy for that.
I don't blame @narfcake for this, as he's a product of a flawed society--where somehow we've gotten to "quality of life" = "value of life". This is an extremely dangerous mentality and one that will probably lead to the destruction of our civilization. (not to mention being the foundation of racism, bigotry, and genocide across the world).
@phatmass you don't know the adoption/euth rate for the shelter that those cats went to. You also don't get to call someone who did the right thing "as bad" as someone whose neglect caused those animals to be in danger in the first place. You're not "the bad guy" for having a different/skewed sense of right/wrong here - you were "the bad guy" for being crappy about it.
@phatmass nice self-star, btw. Priming the well are we? Also, in shelters healthy kittens are the first to be adoped and have the best chance for new homes. It is injured, or older cats that are more at risk for the needle.
@Thumperchick I never called anyone bad. Also, what if the guy who dropped them off at the corner did it because he wanted the cats to find a home. It's not inconceivable that that dude also thought it was the right thing to do. Maybe HE thinks that having animal control pick them up is what "bad" people do. I just don't think we should be so quick to judge people's hearts.
I think a "bad" dude would have just thrown them over a bridge.
I apologize if I come off as crappy. Maybe if the developers would stop focusing so much on useless pagination and start focusing on emotion emojis I could better express myself.
@mfladd I think those who do not self-star either lack confidence in what they post, or do not agree with what they post. Either way, if one cannot star their own post, one should not post in the first place.
@phatmass If you don't agree with what you post, you just don't say it. Your self-stars just make you look like you know no one else will agree with you, so you might as well give yourself a little stroke. The idea that someone thought they were doing good by dumping these cats off is a weak attempt at finding a different angle to this. People who dump animals do so because they think of them as trash, plain and simple.
@jaremelz I disagree with your perceived ability to judge other people's hearts. Keep on doing it if you want. Rightly or wrongly, I choose to take a more optimistic view of humanity.
@phatmass You're probably the only one here who thinks leaving a cat and six kittens in a small carrier on the curb, in the rain since 2:10am at night, in front of an office/warehouse in an industrial area, was "a good deed".
@narfcake I make no judgement on the matter. I did ask my wife what she thought about a person who did that, and she replied, "they probably wanted somebody to find them".
So no, I do not think it was the best thing to do, but I am also not going to call that person a heartless bastard, because I refuse to judge the heart and intentions of others.
@narfcake so fantastic of you to rescue the cats and help them. I have four cats and two dogs and they were all abandoned and abused before I got them. It's heartbreaking.
@shells Thanks, though I won't call it a full on rescue; there's no way my doggie (which I adopted over 5 years ago) would've accepted even one kitty, let alone six plus the mama.
May they roast long and slow in hell
Also the the Kitties are super cute! you should keep one
@Foxborn I'm not in a position to adopt a cat, let alone kittens. Two more were found hiding in the bushes. :(
@narfcake Office Cat ;) (the hotel I worked at had adopted a stray named booboo sweet kitty, kept the mice down, poor girl got old)
@Foxborn That's even less likely.
@Foxborn "May they roast long and slow in hell" My outrage meter pegged before I realized you were not talking about the kittens.
@DrWorm same!
@hollboll Meow Meow
@Foxborn those poor meow meows!
@hollboll I was so up set I couldn't type stright
There is a special place in hell for those who treat animals like trash. Hope it bites them in the ass so hard karma-wise that they can't ever sit down again.
@jaremelz I hope so too. I didn't mention earlier, but it was raining last night/this morning too, so the floor of the carrier was wet. :( And two more kittens were found hiding in the bushes.
@narfcake I'm so glad that you found the ones that were hiding!
@jaremelz I'm glad too.
All six kitties and the mama have since been picked up.
@narfcake Yay. Now let's just hope they all find wonderful homes. They are gorgeous.
@jaremelz
Leave it to the goat to have some compassion.
@jml326 Only for the kittens, all y'all know how I feel otherwise!
@jaremelz They really are beautiful!
@mehbee My kids are bugging me for a kitten, but I can't do that to our old guy. Poor cranky chubby cat deserves some peace.
@jaremelz Totally understand, have you tried him with a kitten? Sometimes they surprise you...not often..lol..but sometimes.
@mehbee He was 4 when we got my baby boy (who's 7 now). He just doesn't like sharing my husband or oldest boy. He deserves some chill time.
@jaremelz Aww he loves them! Yeah I think loyalty and love should be rewarded. Weith your son that young, he probably gets all the attention and play that he needs. I have a couple of older dogs and I am not bringing any other animal in my house for a long time. Aw, hello cuties! Hope they scratched the hell out of the fucker who dumped them.
@brhfl They were very gentle. And probably too frightened. :(
I just want to cuddle all those little babies!!
@narfcake thank you for taking the time to get them someplace safer. I'll never understand how people can be so heartless.
Poor kitties! May the suckery tentacles of karma entrap the cruel douches who abandoned those furry balls of adorable and cause much mayhem.
@Thumperchick
@narfcake thank you for being there for them. A man after my own heart. Hopefully, they will have a chance for a better life now. Instead of with the douchebag who dropped them there. He/She can burn.

@OldCatLady I really, really like that saying.
So sad. What adorable kitties. Mom too.
Wondering who picks them up in your parts ?
We have a shelter that is a public/private venture.
But they won't pick up.
I hope they find good homes. I would take several if I lived in your area.
It's been a year and a half since I had to say my last goodbye to my furball. We've been talking about eventually adopting a pair of brothers. @mick
@mick
@connorbush I didn't need to be so harsh. Sorry.
They are so adorable! At least they appear to be in good health. I despise people who abandon animals.... Hopefully they'll find loving forever homes.
A (potentially) counter viewpoint . . .
We've seen far too many strange people hoarding too many animals and thereby abusing them thru neglect, often to the point of death.
Perhaps these kitties have found better homes. Of course they should have been dropped off directly at the shelter.
(Aside: I was a cat owner, multiple times over. Since converted to dog lover.)
@RedOak you can actually love and have both : )
@ceagee yah, we used to have and love both. But allergies of a family member put a stop to the cats. And our dogs have been cock-a-poos. They're almost hypoallergenic. They shed less than us humans. Amazing family dogs too.

@kadagan What else is in the etc category? (Please say goat. Please say goat.)
@ACraigL
@ACraigL I remember having goats when I was little, but I don't recall eating them.. We ate our bunnies, chickens. ducks.. I don't remember eating the geese..
@ACraigL My wife's family always laughed when I talked about bringing bunny salad sandwiches for lunch at school.. haha
So who's better. The dude who left them on the corner so someone would find them, or the dude who called animal control so they can be euthanized? @jaremelz we both missed a golden opportunity to pun in "udderly ridiculous." I blame you for this lack of foresight.
@Thumperchick You know what, I'll take the blame on this one. For the team, and only from you.
@jaremelz
@phatmass I see @thumperchick and @jaremelz have addressed this, but WTF? You tell me who is better. I already know.
@jaremelz @thumperchick @mfladd The right thing to do would be to take all the cats into their natural habitat and release them in the forests of Grand Prairie.
@phatmass - If I found cows on the curb, I wouldn't hesitate to call for their rescue.
@KDemo You must be one of those people who are capable of caring about more than one thing, astonishing! (All sarcasm intended)
Grrr. My original comment got eaten, so here's the abbreviated one.
Thank you @thumperchick, @jaremelz and to most everyone else for your kind words. To some ... I'm not going to waste my time responding.
SEAACA handled the pickup and I did follow up. All checked out fine, mama will be spayed, and all will be available for adoption.
@narfcake Excellent news, but I honestly didn't think you'd do anything but make sure things were good. Thank YOU for doing what you did.
@narfcake Awesome! In my response up there, I had to truncate it for the sake of my sanity - you did the right thing. I'm stoked you have a responsive local shelter that helps pets find responsible furrever homes. You earned every one of your catshirts.woot today.
(blush). You're a good goat, @jaremelz.
@Thumperchick The shelters here aren't perfect but at least they have a chance; there would have been none if left in the streets of an industrial area.
@narfcake Thanks, now I'm blushing as well. And to not try and do what you can, well, that's just bananas!
@narfcake You're a good man, @narfcake.
All I'm saying is if I was a cat, I'd rather live on the streets than go to a place where I have a 9/10 chance of dying. And I'm the bad guy for that.

@jaremelz @mfladd If we weren't supposed to self-star our posts, the creator would not have allowed us to. If it's wrong, why does it feel so right?

@medz The creator makes mistakes too (especially in Meh world). This was one. Also, self-starring extensions - they are evil.
@jaremelz nothin wrong with giving yourself a little stroke ;)
@Thumperchick
@phatmass
You were the person who led the charge on pagination - everywhere! Once you get it - now you say it sucks?
@mfladd It turned out to be overrated.
@mfladd this was his plan all along, you see...
@mfladd Blasphemy! The mighty creator is infallible!
@narfcake so fantastic of you to rescue the cats and help them. I have four cats and two dogs and they were all abandoned and abused before I got them. It's heartbreaking.
