@sammydog01 It is EXACTLY like that! Only it has a small developing tear in the plastic on the wheel instead of a burnt spot. I didn’t test it, so hopefully the piece of masking tape that said WORKS was correct. I’d be afraid to use the heater, but have fond memories of the smell of burning dust, so maybe I’d use it a little bit.
I also bought between 36 and 40 Burger King Simpsons Spooky Light-Ups from 2001 at Goodwill this month, and a couple of Monster High dolls (one with complete lower arms, hands and lower legs!) and a couple of Monster High vehicles including Ghoulia’s scooter. It’s been mildly crazy.
@sammydog01 I don’t know when/if I’m going to unwrap them (my plan is to unwrap them because I have two complete sets of 15, but I’m not in any hurry), except I’ll definitely open up a witch Marge because I have 4 of her. Here is a 20-minute video review from last year in the meantime:
The goodwill down the road from me has been a goldmine this month.
In 3 trips this month I got a Veto Pro Pac 2 pistol range bag that’s like new for $10
A Sonos Ray soundbar for $11.25 (it was 25% off for thrift shop day)
And this amazing beast yesterday. Yes it’s an iPod dock. It’s also I believe the first Airplay speaker. No Bluetooth but it is easily the best sounding standalone speaker I’ve ever treated my ears to. It’s a Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air. $45 after I traded in a full punch card for 25% off. If I parted with it it could get $300-400 on eBay, but after I listened to it I’m not sure I want to.
I’m curious what the person that donated this upgraded to, because it puts a lot of speakers to shame. Or I guess they may have upgraded out of life, that would be sad.
… what is it?
@Kyeh It’s a Sears Roebuck electric fireplace in copper.
@mossygreen OHHHH! Very cool, congratulations!
@Kyeh We had a black one when I was growing up and lost it in a flood about 30 years ago, and I’ve been mad ever since. I’m not even kidding.
So cool! Is it like this?

Probably better than the two wood burning fireplaces in my house we can use for various reasons.
@mehmef Nah, this is pure decor.
It looked so big I thought maybe it was a casket. Maybe with self-cremation feature.
@pmarin Possibly if I use the space heater function, because the video @sammydog01 posted shows it has NO safety features.
@mossygreen @pmarin Houses probably had a lot more asbestos in the walls back then.
@pmarin @sammydog01 There were a lot more people falling asleep with lit cigarettes and nylon pajamas in those days.

@mossygreen I would love to see photos.

@mossygreen Those are cute!
@sammydog01 Indeed they are! And I got them so cheap that it’s actually weird.
