“Bluetooth does not work with Samsung Smart TV
Pairs and connects with Samsung Smart TV, and works…for about 5 seconds. Tried it several times. Already in the box ready to go back.”
@kyriel OOOO Boy! You guys who think they will be like the anemic systems you’ve dealt with in the past haven’t a clue.
THey had these hooked up at our local Sam’s club about a year ago and they blew me out. I mean all the way up they hurt! No distortion audible at any volume I found.
The reason I am not buying these is the same reason I didn’t buy them then. I have a Bose SoundLink III, two Bose SoundLink II minis, one Cambridge Soundworks OontZ Angle, one Bose Wave System, One Bose Acoustic Wave music system II (the tall one that can be portable with the battery pack,) and two Yamaha YSP 800s with the matching Yamaha subs. I need to sell some.
But if you aren’t speaker poor, these will blow you away. They did me despite my having enough already. If you want explosive tight sound get these.
@janelane1980 FWIW, since 2014, I’ve purchased 6 items over $30 and I haven’t regretted any of them (especially the Onkyo Atmos speakers!). But maybe I’m just lucky.
@gregormehndel Same thing here, but I understand the dice are rolling each time. I’ve actually gotten more junk at the cheaper prices. Whether that’s because my cheap ass is more prone to buy the lower cost stuff, or it truly is a reflection of getting what you pay for is why people take Statistics
@cranky1950 yeah and we should celebrate the accomplishment otherwise tomorrow it will be a grab bag of floppy hat, one used breathalyzer, 2 sunglasses, a half eaten bag of candy corn that is melted, and the last remaining items from the sharp boxes.
@bleedmichigan Nah monday they’re got staff and stuff. The weekends they don’t want the system to break. Nice time of the year, they want to spend weekends quaffing micro-brews at outdoors while buses and cars drive by spewing exhaust.
Actually considering the bluetooth one… I have a pretty old 2.1 Boston Acoustics setup for my computer that’s “fine” and wondering if it’s worth the upgrade. I do have an Echo Dot running through my mic input on my PC, so this would simplify that setup somewhat.
Does anyone know if it will play line-in and Bluetooth simultaneously – (i.e. I’m playing a game and ask Alexa the weather for tomorrow)?
@ACraigL regarding the age of those Bostons- they are likely better quality than most things today. I have a Yamaha 2.1 speaker set from 2001 that’s still running and sounds better than a recent Logitech I bought for a different PC. Consider adding Bluetooth to the old speakers instead.
I’ve been using the little novelty accordion plastic battery powered speakers as my computer speakers… I guess these will probably sound better than that. I hope. Guess I’ll buy some and find out.
I had been looking for a pair of wired Bluetooth speakers with subwoofer for months. I kept buying them from different sellers both local and online, and in some fashion or another they were all defective. The last set of defective ones I got, the speakers worked great, but the bluetooth didn’t work. I notified the eBay seller and they immediately refunded my money, but never sent me a return postage form. I emailed them and asked what was up and they said I could just keep them, they didn’t want to have to pay for return shipping. So I just set up a aux plug for my phone and I’ve given up on Bluetooth entirely.
I was worried when it showed up in bubble wrap. But they work! One of the fastest turn arounds for receiving product too. Was shipped from manufacturer direct it seems.
Got the dass and should be a good set of PC speakers!
Got mine in the famous bubble wrap as well…Paris to my phone easily but to the Amazon dot, which is why I bought it, does not connect or should I say it beeps like it does but no sound comes out kind of disappointed. And just to be pre-emptive yes I did it through the Amazon Alexa app yes I turn the speakers on and off and tried about 20 times…sigh sadness

OK, does “bluetooth enabled” mean I can pair them with my Samsung Smart TV that has bluetooth?
@jaburg I guess the question is… does your TV OUTPUT bluetooth, or only INPUT bluetooth? If you have a model, I can look through the manual.
@jaburg Yeah, but at only 15 watts, these things are a bit underpowered for home theater use. They’d be awesome at a computer desk, though.
@jaburg Assuming your TV is like this:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00049994/
Then… yeah, I don’t see a reason the bluetooth model wouldn’t work with your TV
@jaburg FYI, one person reviewed this system at Sam’s Club and had an issue:

ymmv…

hmm… vaguely tempted to grab a set to connect to an Echo Dot… decisions decisions. I almost miss speaker docks, since that’s what I REALLY need…
@smigit2002 this is perfect for the dot- I’m using a similar set-up, and was thinking about an upgrade…
@smigit2002 I love speaker docks!
I don’t think I’d ever spend more than $30 on a Meh offering.
@janelane1980 My thinking too. But I have bought soooo many under $30s.

The Amazon reviews suggest these are legit, but that name makes me think of White Van speakers.
@kyriel Yep, the marketing for these are pure cringe too. I bet the 60W RMS rating is at 10% THD or more.
@kyriel Best Buy sells powered speakers by the same company. Not saying it makes these speakers legit, but a step up from “white van” status.
@kyriel @seraphimcaduto
“white van” and now all I hear is:
@cjrhoades Distortion (THD) is listed as <0.1%
@troy That right there makes any of the listed specs totally unbelievable. You don’t rate distortion at 1/60th maximum output power.
@kyriel And the Amazon link on the first page doesn’t work.
@rtjhnstn I know, I just searched for the speakers on amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Thonet-Vander-Bluetooth-Multimedia-Construction/dp/B01LDG322M
@kyriel I know, I researched from this page.
@rtjhnstn Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought the protocol was to compensate those who pointed out webpage errors. juvenile-torrential-dandelion
And I feel I lived up to my confirmation code.
That last photo will give me nightmares. Teeth so blue…
@sammydog01 The spice must flow.
So are you saying ‘Dass ist nicht Laut’?
@mehcuda67 Thread won.
Thonet & Vander, for when you want an audio brand consisting of 2 foreign names connected by an ampersand, but you’re on a budget.
@awk Like Bach & Odin!
@awk or Donnie & Marie!
@awk OGs Bang & Olafson.
"All about that Dass."
@mike808 That is disturbingly enjoyable.
"Well, it’s one Laut-er, isn’t it?"
i have absolutely no need for either of these, yet i want both.
Damn
Really meh, do you expect me to buy another set of bluetooth speakers from you? Because I did you jerks
Already sold more dollar wise than yesterday’s garbage fire and its only 45 min in.
@bleedmichigan They only had to sell 3 to do that.
@cranky1950 yeah and we should celebrate the accomplishment otherwise tomorrow it will be a grab bag of floppy hat, one used breathalyzer, 2 sunglasses, a half eaten bag of candy corn that is melted, and the last remaining items from the sharp boxes.

@cranky1950 The Crank is strong in this one.
I hope meh did not buy more than 100 set else I can hear big THUD or should I say bad bass= Dass? Recently meh really started living up to it’s name.
@givemehdeal Starring your own post is pretty meh, also. Just sayin’.
@gregormehndel if you don’t believe in yourself who would? If you don’t trust in your comment why should others? Got the gist? …LOL

@ACraigL You will have to spend a fair bit more money to get speakers that can rival your old Boston acoustics. And they won’t last as long.
@Invisiblemoose @stevekirks You guys just saved me some money. Thanks!
Ok, mostly good reviews on Amazon, SOOOO let’s hope and wait!!

Needed proper computer speakers. Was using one of my qfx speakers I meh’d months ago, and it just wasn’t cutting it.
/giphy crabby-sick-tank
@ConradHilt Drill weekends are tough on equipment.
@cranky1950 Better to happen during drill than an actual engagement, eh?
@ConradHilton Did a guy fall out of the turret gun or is that a rag? Ick
@warnockne Be better if it didn’t happen at all.
@cranky1950 Too flat to be a person, even before the tank rolled on it.
What the hell does “a frequency response outside its central axis” mean? The fact sheet on these is laughable.
Two well-known speakers from Hope, Arkansas. Klipsch was founded in 1946 in the little town of Hope by Paul W. Klipsch. Bill Clinton is the other.
Here you go, for all to learn how to count in German correctly.
I’ve been using the little novelty accordion plastic battery powered speakers as my computer speakers… I guess these will probably sound better than that. I hope. Guess I’ll buy some and find out.
I’m considering these for my garage…
@woo545 Precisely. Pair with phone and stream pandora.
Just an FYI; Klipsch - pronounced as it looks - is not a foreign company. Their HQ is in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Klipsch speakers are manufactured in Hope, Arkansas so that’s… kind of exotic.
@bigjimmyk3 Klipsch was bought by Audiovox and now many of their products are made in China. http://www.voxxintl.com/acquisition/history/

If you look at amazon reviews closely you can see the DASS used to sell for 50 on amazon…that break the deal for me

I was looking at these things on MorningSave- would anyone else like to comment on if they’re crap or not?
