@tinamarie1974 I feel. I think ziti makes me think I have to make baked ziti? I love baked ziti but I don’t have nearly enough tomatoes or mozzarella to serve it justice.
@OnionSoup Oh I totally understand. I found this site too late and spaghetti was already sold out. I’m hesitant to drop another $20, but also my family likes tubular pasta? Decisions decisions…
So the order page shows drops 2 and 3 still available. Late last week (after my spaghettini was delivered) I ordered and chose the penne on dropdown. Email shows linguine but has picture of penne.
Does anyone know for sure that if you use the dropdown you are getting previous drops?
I have emailed support but no answer yet and thinking about sending another drop to unsuspecting target.
@Thumperchick Thanks for the clarification. Now to go make another order using same methods. Thanks very much for clarification and hopefully helps others that might be confused.
I had a similarly confusing time before on Meh with a 2-pack of coffee (not sure if I was supposed to receive two or 4 in the end but got 2 of the same). Don’t worry Meh staff I’m not gonna complain.
So for anyone who has already received an order, or your drop recipient has, approximately how much pasta was received? Haha. Will they even allow this to be answered?
@lkblaser got 40lbs in first drop (shipping info only said I was getting 20lbs. There might be more coming though because my wife said something about the package saying 320 servings. Everything I read says 1lb=4 servings… So 320 servings would be 80lbs… Perfectly happy with just 40. Will probably donate most anyway.
Haven’t received second drop yet but shipping info says 20 for that too… As I saw with last drop though. Weight not necessarily accurate.
@OnionSoup I think one pound is 8 servings but still, 40 pounds is a lot. I figure it’s a win no matter what. If it’s too much it can always be donated. Plus getting $50 in coupons means it’s free anyhow. Even if I just use two coupons I break even AND have a bunch of pasta.
@lkblaser yeah… Although that $50 of coupons made me spend more money. I spent it on things I wouldn’t otherwise have got. (Bad strategy on my part… Lol)
$22 on meh during mehrathon took an item down to $12. Not something I needed, and probably wouldn’t have got without the coupon.
$24 became $14 on morningsave. Again, probably wouldn’t have bought items without coupon. Wasn’t a necessity.
$21 on two t-shirts became $11.
$24 on side deals becomes $14 with coipon
All good prices… But I spent about $51 on stuff to use my $50 coupons… All on stuff I didn’t need and wouldn’t otherwise have got. Considering most retailers charge the public twice what they pay for an item… It probably about breaks even in cost to them.
By giving me coupons they made me spend more money… Lol
Awesome drop for families with kids. Eat it or craft with it, it’s a win either way.
Though I’m still waiting for some (tri-color) rotini. The way my kids devour that stuff, we could easily eat through a hundred pound drop before it goes bad.
@katbyter Apparently there is a difference. Depends on what kind of sauce you use. Apparently I am not that sophisticated, nor do I think that far in advance of which type of sauce I need for which pasta shape, especially when they are that similar. I am the heathen that would use them interchangeably. https://cooknovel.com/ziti-vs-penne/
Up to 8 drops so far. As long as they average out to 20lbs/drop, I’ll be good. Hopefully the 8 year old niece gets a 100lb drop though. That would be some funny shiite…
I should have read these before I ordered… hopefully I get one of the big drops and can donate to some of the food banks in town (they really need it right now!)!
@RiotDemon@thedavestewart
You can also drop them off at a local homeless shelter or a church that has dinners for members or the elderly (e.g. meals on wheels).
also: although other pastas show sold out if you go through the direct links, it looks like if you click on the ziti you can choose penne, ziti or linguine.
My first order of penne arrived with 2 ten pound bags of penne, half which I gave away. Have ordered a bunch more pasta intended for local food banks, which need it. Please think about those who are hungrier than you.
@zenoid think twice. Food banks can generally buy pasta for $0.49 a pound. I just dropped 40 bucks on pasta drops with a 10 lb of pasta return. You might do better to give the food bank cash.
I have so many questions. Does the ziti have ridges? Is ziti and small rigatoni the same? Why does my penne have a USPS tracking code (for a week now) but the USPS says they don’t have it yet. Why is the sad zebu sad? Will pasta made the sad zebu happy? Should I listen to more silly songs with Larry?
@aquastardreamer I can only answer a few of those questions. I think ziti is always smooth. Penne can come ridged or smooth but ziti as a rule is usually smooth.
You could probably get a knife and carve each individual ziti noodle if you really want ridges on a ziti.
Sounds like USPS doesn’t have your package yet. If yours is like mine, Pitney Bowes will handle the shipping from Texas to your local post office, and USPS only gets the package the day before you do.
Pitney Bowes is a huge lottery as to whether they deliver your package in two weeks or two months. Often a package will sit in a random warehouse for a week without moving… Or go on a grand tour of the country before coming to your local town.
I don’t know who sad zebu is… Try feeding him pasta to see if that makes him happy
@aquastardreamer@OnionSoup my order of spaghettini has been sitting in my town for 12 days waiting to be handed over to the USPS. the box only had to go 113 miles.
the penne was delivered four days ago much to the delight of the unsuspecting friend.
2 new tracking numbers appeared in (Un)Informed Delivery today - I assume for the ziti. I don’t know the weight until PB officially lands the boxes in TX.
All this talk of informed delivery makes me wish my address was eligible for it. For whatever reason my building won’t work with their informed delivery system. Maybe because it’s a 2 family home?
Looks like the ziti will beat the linguini, as the linguini boxes are still hanging around in Greenwood / Indianapolis and the ziti was picked to move forward to the USPS hell in the St. Louis area and is marked for delivery today.
I am shamed by the delivery of 100 lbs. I only got 80 lbs. My wife is Italian; she has never seen so much pasta at one time in her life. Since we are in Medicare and there is but two of us, we figured that after we have passed away, our children could divide up the remaining pasta. Just kidding, we will be supporting a local food bank. $0.25 a pound.
This makes me so happy: our friends got 20 pounds of pasta, they thought that was funny and we figured it was fine. We only received 10 of the penne we’d sent to ourselves, so…meh.
today, three days later, a text: “did you send us more pasta?” they got another 20 pounds. now THAT’S funny. they’re giggling, we’re giggling, the mailman is hugging it up the hill, everyone gets pasta!
Thank you @pastadrop for the continued laughs. My sister received 6 boxes of ziti the other day amounting to 120 lbs of pasta, we all laughed and laughed about it as my nephew opened the boxes while she was at work. Couldnt contain my laughter, she was less than happy!
Today, she sent me a video of her Ring doorbell camera picking up the delivery of ANOTHER 4 BOXES so the tally is 200lbs in total! Completely awesome and I’m pissing myself!
Job well done!
I can’t believe it. 100lbs total. I was able to help out two very in need food pantries in town. And still keep a bag to get sick of ziti for the rest of my life. This was awesome.
I’ve sent it to my friend, but it seems to be stuck in Pitney Bowes hell as of 6/12. And one of my friends moved before they could get their pasta… another didn’t even try to make an attempt to figure out who sent the pasta…
Not gonna lie, apparently it’s hard to send someone pasta for shits and giggles and have a good time on my side.
I was a bummed when I came home and only saw 1 case. It seems like everybody else was getting multiple cases. I also ordered the Penne for a friend of mine on May 18th and he still hasn’t received anything. When I check the tracking number, it hasn’t had any activity since June 9th.
I am now up to 200 pounds of Ziti from a single order. This is pure insanity. 3 seperate shipment arrivals so far and my account still says it hasnt been delivered.

Aawwww come on, where are the macaroni noods??
@tinamarie1974 I feel. I think ziti makes me think I have to make baked ziti? I love baked ziti but I don’t have nearly enough tomatoes or mozzarella to serve it justice.
Oh boy, haven’t received my penne yet. Should I drop my sister again? I’m afraid her tiny apartment can’t handle all this pasta.
@Unknownie penne? I’m still waiting on Spaghettini AND penne. Not buying anything else until the first arrives.
@OnionSoup Oh I totally understand. I found this site too late and spaghetti was already sold out. I’m hesitant to drop another $20, but also my family likes tubular pasta? Decisions decisions…
I haven’t gotten my spaghetti yet but I’m still determined to take part of every drop.

@MrMikenIkes Potatoes and pasta? That’s what Rip Van Winkle had for dinner that fateful night.
@yakkoTDI you mean Rip Van Waffle?
Coupon was broken again
@caffeineguy did you ever use a coupon?
@caffeineguy Did you already use it once successfully?

Linguine is one of my favorite noods.
@raccoon81 Check your order status in the menu, I would go by name not by image.
Support should get back to you before it ships anyway since shipping is a bit delayed these days.
/giphy unknown pasta
@dzieciom So uh… Do I go by the main name in green linguine, or the line below in grey Penne Rigate or the picture that is penne?
/giphy confusing yet?
@raccoon81 I’m checking.
@raccoon81 Hey - looks like your order page is correct. You ordered the Penne Rigate and that’s what the photo shows.
It’s just showing up under The Linguini, because that’s the weekly offer that was up when you ordered.
Hope that makes sense!
@Thumperchick Thanks for the clarification. Now to go make another order using same methods. Thanks very much for clarification and hopefully helps others that might be confused.
@raccoon81 @Thumperchick Yeah, was going to say small text would be the correct one.
I had a similarly confusing time before on Meh with a 2-pack of coffee (not sure if I was supposed to receive two or 4 in the end but got 2 of the same). Don’t worry Meh staff I’m not gonna complain.

@lkblaser there are discussions in the spaghettini thread. Anywhere from 10-100lbs.
@RiotDemon Thanks! That’s hilarious.
@lkblaser 20 pounds!
@lkblaser got 40lbs in first drop (shipping info only said I was getting 20lbs. There might be more coming though because my wife said something about the package saying 320 servings. @lkblaser @OnionSoup maybe @snapster is an evil genus
@lkblaser @snapster @tinamarie1974 our money is helping build an underground lair on a skull shaped island, I guarantee it.
@lkblaser @OnionSoup @snapster ooohhh that sounds exciting. I wonder if our VMP mehmbership includes a benefit to visit the lair?!?!?!?
@lkblaser 10 pounds. So it was pasta at $2 a pound.
/giphy secretive-sleek-hole
We’ll give it a fourth go here. I know who my target will be for ziti, oh yes!
/giphy nocturnal-misty-orange
Awesome drop for families with kids. Eat it or craft with it, it’s a win either way.

WORKER BEES! HERCULES! TURKEY GREASE! AWESOME!
Dear future @studerc…I got you some pasta. I got you good you fucker!
Crap, I love ziti, this is getting tough to resist.
Isn’t ziti just penne cut with flat ends vs. angled?
@katbyter Apparently there is a difference. Depends on what kind of sauce you use. @Karpadm76 there’s nothing the average 8 year old wants more than 100lbs of dry ziti.
@OnionSoup I am more excited about her eeaction than i am scared cause i dropped my sister twice, bahahaha! This is pure evil genius for $20.
/giphy periodic-unused-credit
I should have read these before I ordered… hopefully I get one of the big drops and can donate to some of the food banks in town (they really need it right now!)!
@thedavestewart a lot of food banks still aren’t taking physical donations, so double check before you go.
@RiotDemon thanks - there are still a few in the central Florida area that are.
@RiotDemon @thedavestewart
You can also drop them off at a local homeless shelter or a church that has dinners for members or the elderly (e.g. meals on wheels).
/giphy thorough-efficient-history
sure, why not. I sent some to friends…life is about exploring pasta-bilities, after all.
/giphy studious-phony-gnome
also: although other pastas show sold out if you go through the direct links, it looks like if you click on the ziti you can choose penne, ziti or linguine.
@pippakay yeah, you have to be on the current week to order any of the pasta that isn’t sold out yet.
My first order of penne arrived with 2 ten pound bags of penne, half which I gave away. Have ordered a bunch more pasta intended for local food banks, which need it. Please think about those who are hungrier than you.

This is the last pastadrop that’s going to my house. And I think I might end up getting barred from mediocre purchases from now on…
I got 100lbs of ziti at my door!
I am shamed by the delivery of 100 lbs. I only got 80 lbs. My wife is Italian; she has never seen so much pasta at one time in her life. Since we are in Medicare and there is but two of us, we figured that after we have passed away, our children could divide up the remaining pasta. If you send 80 lbs of pasta, do you sell 55 gallon drums of red sauce to go with it?
Previously, my linguine shipment spanned 2 days - 80 & 20 pound deliveries. Today, the first(?) ziti arrived.
LOL. Suckers.
Sigh, my friend’s pasta has dropped, but he lives in an apartment building and is bad at checking his mail
I sent a friend 20# of penne. She laughed and sent a picture. I sent myself 20# of ziti. I thought I understood what 20# was ziti would look like.
I did not.
So I sent two pasta drops to two different people. One got 20# and the other 40#
Is this intentional? This is hilarious
This makes me so happy: our friends got 20 pounds of pasta, they thought that was funny and we figured it was fine. We only received 10 of the penne we’d sent to ourselves, so…meh.

My ziti looked a lot like linguine…what gives???
Someone finally received 100# lol, recipient tried to deny it belonged to them at the PO, it did not fly. Their car full of Pasta now. Pricele$$
@bunnymasseuse why would you deny free pasta?
@RiotDemon I did not, but the persons whose name was on it wanted to!
I am now up to 200 pounds of Ziti from a single order. This is pure insanity. 3 seperate shipment arrivals so far and my account still says it hasnt been delivered.
You’ve outdone yourselves!
40 pounds of surprise ziti arrived today! Thank you whoever sent it! Gonna make baked ziti tomorrow.
