The only holiday that matters? National Taco Day
11Shut Up And Eat.
(Haven’t checked it the links yet to see what might be enticing.)
Around here, I’m most interested in what Torchys, Salsa Limon, and Fuzzys are up to.
Here’s a start:

(There ought to be local offerings in most places, right? I mean, no local good tacos means a lesser life, right?)

@f00l
From Fuzzys Tacos. $1 each all day. Dine-in.
National Taco Day should be like Thanksgiving. Not a specific date, instead something like the first Tuesday of November. How can you have any sort of taco day not on a Tuesday? Just to note, I’m most definitely having tacos tonight.
@cinoclav It’s a strong indictment of the entire National Day system.

That’s pretty hilarious. I got an email from Taco Cabana that today is National Taco day but forgot about it. However I was out shopping and checked my VIP card online and found out today is buy one get one free Taco Bell combo day. I layed out my tacos and sat down to eat and check what was up with meh and this was the first discussion on the forums. If I’d remembered it was National Taco day, I’d have stopped at Tacos Chinampa or El Toro Bronco instead and gotten some real Mexican food. Oh well, I had the real thing yesterday.
@moondrake the only taco chain around here is Taco Bell, Unless you count Chipotle, which i don’t. they are a Burrito shop…(Oh, what i wouldn’t give for someone to open a fuzzy’s… The nearest is brand new, and 100mi away…but i digress )
they(Taco Bell) also had for today, a special $5 Box, called the “National Taco Day Gift Set”, containing the Following:
that was my lunch, with a Tim Horton’s Coffee.
It’s also national vodka day.

@medz
@sammydog01 So thanks for the reminder- I was able to celebrate at least one of them today.
The only thing redeeming about marketing based pseudo holidays is when they involve delicious food. Tacos tacos tacos.
@jbartus I’m puzzled… do tacos need marketing?
That’s like needing a reason to drink.
@2many2no apparently so? I didn’t invent the holiday.
I LOVE TACOS.
Not the taco bell crap, but a good taco!!!
Tacos are also very good for you, I think.

For a number of years, there was a good taco place nearby, and then it died, and reincarnated into literally the same location, place and menu with a different name. Sadly, that place also pass on, and hasn’t yet shown back up again with a new name.

National Coffee Day is equivalent to Every Day. The formal marketed coffee day entirely unnecessary, except to specially honor the unending process of consuming coffee.
Yea Coffee!
Taco Day is playing catch-up to Coffee Day.
Hopefully, soon, Every Dsy will be both Coffee Day and Taco Day.
There has to be a better and brighter world for us in the future.
I love tacos!
We lived in San Diego and mama learned to make tacos from a Mexican man.
He taught her to make a sauce to put on tacos, using, Miracle Whip, ketchup and hot sauce. We never knew the name so we called it Goop. He also used Parmesan cheese on top, not grated cheese.
I make the meat sauce, I add salsa.
I still eat tacos the same way but add unseasoned Mexican cheese.
I made them last week, son makes soft tacos.
No one likes my Goop, their loss.
A fried soft taco is good too.
We do not have much in this town but we have three local Mexican Restaurants and Taco Bell.
