@naropa You kids ever hear of radio? It was this thing we listened to before iTunes and Spotify--back in the dark days before the interwebs. Think of it as a slightly less annoying prototype of Pandora.
BTW, I'm not sure if book version counts, 'cause that's in your head, so it's kinda on you.
@joelmw Big brain, yes, and so what did he do with it? He could have kicked some butt, instead he complained non-stop. Reminds me of some very annoying people I used to work with!
@WaltC@naropa Having first heard the BBC radio production and later reading the book (and witnessing some of the BBC TV show), I will always consider the radio version definitive. The movie is such crap it doesn't even count, IMO.
@WaltC Ah, yes, but 1) that's how he was programmed (and therefore, another obstacle that he had to overcome); 2) he does frequently--despite all of the bitching--come through with an act of brilliance and/or force to save the day; 3) I don't care what people say, he's just so damned adorable (and, dare I say, relatable).
Wall-E: Although I've never seen the movie, I work on robots and the first thing my girlfriend asked when I gave her a tour of the robot lab was "Where's Wall-E?"
@TaRDy I watched Wall-E with the family. I actually got angry at the little shit. Henpecked little wuss. SMH Then my wife gave me a disapproving look, and I stfu.
@2many2no Noooo! Not Robbie! That robot was used in 35 films, tv series, commercials and games, starting with the classic film Forbidden Planet, which I just re-watched last week. He's got more credits and has been in higher quality shows than most actors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robby_the_Robot
@Bogie Johnny 5 IS ALIVE. I loved the hell out of Short Circuit when I was a kid, I don't even want to watch it now because I know it'll be terrible compared to my memories.
I only voted Bicentennial Man because I'm a sucker for being edgy and contrarian.
You did too.
@peas Shhh
Marvin the paranoid robot from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
@WaltC I thought he was depressed. Or was he both?
@WaltC Marvin is the shit. Watch how you talk. Brain the size of a planet and you call him "annoying." Pshaw.
@WaltC The movie or book version?

@bluedyn He was definitely depressed, as you say, and he didn't seem to me to be paranoid, but Zaphod calls him "the Paranoid Android" in the book.
@naropa I've read/seen both, but the movie version is what I had in mind-- he was such a drama queen!
@joelmw Big brain, yes, and so what did he do with it? He could have kicked some butt, instead he complained non-stop. Reminds me of some very annoying people I used to work with!

@WaltC @naropa If you haven't listened to the radio program, you must. I've attached a link so you have no excuses. I already know that you're online. http://www.induceddyslexia.com/hitchhiker.htm

@WaltC Again . . .
@WaltC Zaphod's not exactly a reliable judge. But I do like how that moniker reminds me of Radiohead. Approved!
Kevin Costner from "Water World."
@bluejester Keanu Reeves in "Johnny Mnemonic"
@bluejester spoilers(?)
The question was about actual movie robots, not people who acted as emotionally as a robot!
@curtise
Those who didn't vote for Twiki are wrong, and for penance have to watch this revolting clip.
Wall-E:
Although I've never seen the movie, I work on robots and the first thing my girlfriend asked when I gave her a tour of the robot lab was "Where's Wall-E?"
She hasn't been welcome back since.
@TaRDy
@JonT why do you have a gif for everything???
@TaRDy it's literally my job.
@JonT Did you fill out your Job application with GIFs?
@TaRDy How dare you!
@SSteve It probably would have been a lot easier to do that.
@TaRDy I watched Wall-E with the family. I actually got angry at the little shit. Henpecked little wuss. SMH Then my wife gave me a disapproving look, and I stfu.
David from A.I. (Artificial Intelligence)
I couldn't vote because I love all robots. The fact that you would even put C-3PO and R2-D2 on there as a joke is deeply offensive to me.
Robby

Kryten from Red Dwarf is very entertaining, but I bet he'd be annoying to live with. Especially if you were the last human in the universe.
Wait... does Rimmer count? If he counts then I vote Rimmer.
@katylava I second Kryten... actually I First Kryten because you voted Rimmer.
@katylava Talkie Toaster would be worse. Trivia fact: I'm related to the guy who originally voiced Talkie Toaster.
@Starblind i totally forgot about the toaster. i have to agree.
Is there a category for not annoying robots?
Hey, laser lips! Your mama was a snowblower! pfllllp
@Bogie Johnny 5 IS ALIVE. I loved the hell out of Short Circuit when I was a kid, I don't even want to watch it now because I know it'll be terrible compared to my memories.
Not a movie robot, but a TV show robot. Does that count?
@jsh139 If TV counts, then Lal from Star Trek was the worst.
The Robot from Lost in Space. "Danger Will Robinson!"
